The short answer
Zul'Aman is the zone most Midnight miners end up in. The client tunes it for levels 83 to 88, and player reports rate it among the densest and most balanced ore zones in the expansion, with all three base ores, the Dazzling Thorium bonus and Wild deposits that release
Mote of Wild Magic. The ore sells for the same price as anywhere: right now Gold grade copper is 24 gold36 silver, Gold silver 21 gold31 silver, Gold tin 19 gold60 silver and Dazzling Thorium 8 gold85 silver. What Zul'Aman offers is more deposits per trip, at the cost of more fights than Eversong Woods. Expect busier skies and more mobs, and expect your Dazzling Thorium count to follow your deposit count.

Zul'Aman in Midnight is a full outdoor zone, not the old Burning Crusade raid. It shares its level band with Harandar, which means most players arrive here mid campaign and keep coming back after they cap.
The ore and its value
The ore here is identical to the ore in every other zone. Commodities are priced for the whole US region, and the client has one item per ore per grade. Here is the picture right now:
| Material | Silver grade now | Gold grade now | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Refulgent Copper Ore | 4 gold98 silver | 24 gold36 silver | smelted to ingots for both alloys, Engineering parts |
| Brilliant Silver Ore | 5 gold21 silver | 21 gold31 silver | Sterling Alloy, 56 recipes behind it |
| Umbral Tin Ore | 5 gold65 silver | 19 gold60 silver | Gloaming Alloy, 52 recipes, plus Engineering parts |
| Dazzling Thorium | single grade: 8 gold85 silver | 48 recipes, mostly weapons and profession tools | |
| Mote of Wild Magic | single grade: 70 silver | 80 recipes across nine professions |
On 2026-10-08 the Gold grades of the three base ores were all within a few gold of each other, between 24 gold74 silver and 28 gold15 silver, and the Silver grades sat between 4 gold42 silver and 5 gold15 silver. In practice that means no single ore is worth chasing past the others. Mine whatever deposit is closest. The value difference between a Gold and a Silver ore of the same type is about five to one; the difference between two ores at the same grade is small.
Wild deposits and Mote of Wild Magic
Player reports describe Wild versions of the base deposits in Zul'Aman. Mining one gives normal ore plus Mote of Wild Magic, and reports say Wild deposits can spawn small earth creatures that slow you until you kill them. Some miners report that killing them gives a chance at extra ore. We have not tested any of this ourselves, so read it as what the community describes.
The mote is the most used of the four Midnight motes. Our datamine lists 80 recipes that consume Mote of Wild Magic across Alchemy, Cooking, Enchanting, Engineering, Inscription, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Skinning and Tailoring. Leatherworking leans on it hardest: eight Thalassian profession gear recipes (the Wildseeker's Workbag, Stridercap, Scrapmaster's Gauntlets, Ironbender's Regalia, Hideshaper's Regalia, Herbtender's Cradle, Gemshaper's Grand Cover and Alchemist's Mixcap) take 40 motes each. Jewelcrafting's Loa Worshiper's Band takes 20, and Engineering's Aetherlume gear takes 15.
Even so, on 2026-10-08 our tables priced it at 60 silver, inside a 14-day band of 30 silver to 84 silver. A recipe that needs 40 motes was spending about 24 gold on them, less than one Gold grade ore. Wild Magic is plentiful enough that the price stays low despite the demand. Pick it up, keep it if you craft, and sell it in bulk if you do not. For all four motes side by side, read our Midnight motes guide.
How to work Zul'Aman, step by step
We have not walked and timed a route here yet. This is how to plan a session, based on the zone data and on what miners report.
- Arrive with mounted gathering if you can. Player reports say Midnight lets you mine from the mount only after you spend knowledge points in the right Mining branch. In a dense zone, not dismounting at every node is the biggest time saver you can buy.
- Follow the coast and the edges first. Reports describe the densest deposit clusters along the southern coast and around the zone edges, with the middle more heavily farmed and more crowded with mobs.
- Mine every base deposit. In a dense zone, the Dazzling Thorium bonus becomes a steady trickle rather than a rare surprise, because you roll for it more often.
- Deal with the Wild deposit creatures. Kill them rather than drag them along; reports say they slow you and may give bonus ore.
- Avoid the busiest spots at peak times. If you see three other miners on the same coast, the loop is contested. Swap direction or come back later.
- Empty your bags before they fill. Gold and Silver grades of three ores, plus thorium and motes, take eight bag slots before you count anything else.

How Zul'Aman compares
| Zone | Levels (client) | Themed deposit (reports) | Mote | Player reports in short |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zul'Aman | 83 to 88 | Wild | Mote of Wild Magic | dense deposits, moderate mobs |
| Eversong Woods | 80 to 83 | Lightfused | Mote of Light | calm, good for learning |
| Harandar | 83 to 88 | Primal | Mote of Primal Energy | strongest for herbs, thinner for ore |
| Voidstorm | 88 to 90 | Voidbound | Mote of Pure Void | some call it the most deposit rich; toughest mobs |
On 2026-10-08 the four motes were priced between 22 silver and 70 silver, so the side drop does not separate the zones much. The real difference is deposit count and how much fighting stands between deposits. Player reports split on the very top spot: several call Voidstorm the most deposit rich zone, but with ledges, aggressive mobs and campaign gating in the way. Zul'Aman wins the comparisons that weigh density against fighting, which is why most miners settle here. We will not rank either with a number until we have walked them.

Gathering two professions here
Zul'Aman also has herbs, and player reports often call it the best zone to run Mining and Herbalism on one character. Our Argentleaf guide lists the herbs reported across all four zones. A dual gather loop does not make either profession pay more per node; it just means fewer empty seconds between nodes. If you have both professions, try one loop and count your stops.
What the bag looks like, and what to do with it
A Zul'Aman session leaves you with up to eight kinds of material. Here is a sensible order for dealing with them:
- Gold grade ore first. It is most of the value. List it in batches; do not dump it all at once.
- Silver grade ore next. Sell it raw unless you are a Blacksmith with a setup that upgrades Silver inputs to Gold results; our copper, silver and tin guides show the math.
- Dazzling Thorium in small amounts. Its price has been flat for weeks; read the Dazzling Thorium guide for why.
- Mote of Wild Magic last. Keep it if you craft Leatherworking gear or Jewelcrafting rings. Otherwise sell a full stack in one go.
- Never vendor any of it. Base ores vendor for 15 silver and motes for 20 silver.
Ore for Jewelcrafters: the Amani connection
One Midnight gem carries the zone's people in its name:
Amani Lapis, with a Gold grade at 53 gold23 silver right now. Player reports say Jewelcrafters get Midnight gems by prospecting the base ores, which would make every ore you mine here a possible gem source for a Jewelcrafter. Our datamine's recipe table does not list prospecting as a recipe, and we have not measured how many gems a stack of ore gives, so we cannot tell you whether prospecting beats selling the ore. What we can say is that on 2026-10-08 a Silver grade Amani Lapis sold for about four times a Silver grade ore, at 21 gold49 silver against roughly 5 gold. If you are a Jewelcrafter, prospect a test stack and count. Our gems and prospecting guide has every gem priced live.
Mistakes miners make here
Fighting everything. The Wild deposit creatures are worth killing, according to reports, but the zone's regular mobs are not. Fly over packs rather than through them.
Skipping Silver grade deposits. Some miners only stop for nodes they expect to pay well. There is no way to see the grade before you mine, and every deposit is also a thorium roll.
Holding motes for a price spike. Wild Magic has 80 recipes behind it and still trades under a gold. Sell it or use it.
Mining the centre at peak hours. Reports agree it is the most farmed part of the zone. The edges are where the extra density is.
What to watch
Three things change how good Zul'Aman is on a given day. First, competition: the zone's reputation draws miners, and a crowded coast is worth less than a quiet one elsewhere. Second, the Gold ore prices: when they break above their 14-day highs, as all three did the week we wrote this, a dense zone is at its most useful because every extra deposit is worth more. Third, patch notes, which can change deposit spawns or themed node behaviour overnight.
Is Zul'Aman worth mining?
If you are level 83 or higher and have mounted gathering, it is the zone most miners would point you to, and the zone data gives no reason to disagree. The ore is no better than anywhere else, but player reports say there is more of it within reach, and in a market where the base ores are priced close together, more deposits is the whole game. We will not print an earning rate until we walk a timed route with a loot log. For the ore by ore ranking, read which Midnight ore is worth mining right now.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
