The short answer

Argentleaf is one of the five base herbs of Midnight, and it is the one where the gap between the two quality tiers matters most. Right now the Gold tier sells for 37 gold and the Silver tier for 3 gold82 silver on the US commodity market. Both tiers vendor for the same 9 silver75 copper, so the vendor is never the answer. If your Herbalism setup turns a good share of your picks into Gold quality, Argentleaf is worth carrying home. If almost everything you pick lands as Silver, you are farming the cheap half of the market and should think about milling or crafting with it instead of listing it raw.

What Argentleaf actually is

Our datamine of the 12.1 client lists two items named Argentleaf: Argentleaf at Silver quality and Argentleaf at Gold quality. Both are item level 80 Trade Goods gathered with Herbalism, and both carry the same vendor price. The game treats them as one material with two grades, which is how every Midnight herb works. A recipe slot that asks for Argentleaf accepts either grade, and the grade you feed in pushes the quality of what comes out.

That single rule explains the whole market. Crafters who want top-grade flasks and phials pay for Gold herbs, and crafters who only need the item to exist buy the cheapest grade on offer. So the Silver tier behaves like a bulk commodity and the Gold tier behaves like a premium input whose price follows raid consumable demand.

Who buys Argentleaf

The client data shows eight recipes that take Argentleaf as a reagent: six from Alchemy and two from Cooking. As far as the client data shows, that is the entire demand side: no other recipe lists it. Inscription does not consume the herb directly either; scribes buy it to mill into pigment, which is covered further down.

Read the table from the top. The two flasks are the heaviest users at six and eight herbs per craft, and both also need a Nocturnal Lotus. That pairing is the key to timing your sales: flask crafting spikes before raid nights and at the start of a new raid tier, and every flask crafted pulls Argentleaf off the market at the same moment it pulls Nocturnal Lotus. The phials and Light's Potential use three each, which is steady background demand rather than a spike.

The reagent bill, and why the herb is the cheap part

It helps to see where Argentleaf sits inside a flask's cost. Take the Flask of the Shattered Sun at the prices our tables held on 2026-10-08, using the Silver grade of each herb:

ReagentQuantityUnit price (2026-10-08)Line cost
Nocturnal Lotus1250 gold8 silver250 gold8 silver
Azeroot (Silver)814 gold25 silver114 gold
Argentleaf (Silver)64 gold24 silver25 gold44 silver
Sunglass Vial22 gold95 silver5 gold90 silver
Mote of Primal Energy270 silver1 gold40 silver

On that day the Lotus was roughly 63 percent of the bill and Silver Argentleaf about 6 percent. Swap in Gold Argentleaf at 33 gold70 silver and the herb line jumps to 202 gold20 silver, which is why only crafters chasing the best result buy the Gold grade for flasks. Two things follow for a gatherer. First, a cheap Lotus week does not make Argentleaf cheap, and a Lotus spike does not make it expensive; the herb moves with crafting volume, not with Lotus price. Second, the Gold grade has a thin but real buyer base, so do not flood it. List Gold Argentleaf in a few batches across the week instead of dumping a full bag at once.

Silver against Gold: reading the spread

The ratio between the grades is the most useful number on this page. On 2026-10-08 Gold Argentleaf sold for about eight times the Silver price, and over the previous fourteen days Gold ranged between 17 gold87 silver and 36 gold83 silver while Silver ranged between 1 gold75 silver and 5 gold23 silver. Compare that with the other base herbs on the same day:

HerbSilver nowGold nowGold over Silver (2026-10-08)
Argentleaf3 gold82 silver37 goldabout 8x
Azeroot17 gold64 silver34 gold98 silverabout 2x
Mana Lily89 silver21 gold68 silverabout 15x
Sanguithorn47 silver19 gold78 silverabout 29x
Tranquility Bloom2 gold2 gold20 silverabout 1.3x

Azeroot keeps real value in both grades, so an Azeroot picker earns something on every node. Argentleaf, Mana Lily and Sanguithorn put almost all of their value in the Gold grade. If your Herbalism skill and specialization points are still low, your Gold share will be low too, and Azeroot nodes will treat you better than Argentleaf nodes until that changes. Once your Gold share climbs, Argentleaf becomes one of the better herbs to stop for, because its Gold grade held a price close to Azeroot's Gold grade on the day we checked, while its Silver grade was still worth several times Sanguithorn's Silver grade.

Sell the herb or mill it

Scribes mill Argentleaf into Argentleaf Pigment and Argentleaf Pigment, which feed Inscription inks. Our tables price both pigment grades, so you can compare directly: Gold pigment sits at 25 gold82 silver against Gold Argentleaf at 37 gold. The milling yield is not in the client data and we have not measured it ourselves, so we will not pretend to know it. You can work out your own break-even in one step. If milling a given number of herbs gives you a given number of pigments, mill when the pigments are worth more than the herbs you spent:

  • pigments received multiplied by the pigment price
  • must beat herbs milled multiplied by the herb price
  • after the Auction House cut on whichever side you sell

Mill a test batch of twenty, count what comes out, and you have the yield for your own character. Write it down, because it changes with your Inscription setup, and the answer flips whenever the pigment price drops below the herb price.

Where to look for Argentleaf

Herbalists report Argentleaf in all four outdoor Midnight zones. We have not walked and timed a route in any of them yet, so read this section as where to look rather than a promise of a yield. Zone levels below come from the client's own content tuning data.

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355

Harandar is the zone to try first if you want a mix. Player reports put Azeroot and Sanguithorn only in Harandar and Eversong Woods, so either zone can fill all three flask herbs on one loop instead of a flight between zones.

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968

Eversong Woods is the low end of the level range and the friendliest place to learn the herb. It is also where Lightfused herb nodes appear; our datamine lists a Lightfused Argentleaf gathering spell, and Lightfused nodes are where Mote of Light comes from. Motes of Light craft Herbalism tools, so a picker gearing up for a higher Gold share should spend time here.

Argentleaf, any Midnight zone

Not walked yet

No hourly gold figure is published here until this route has been walked end to end with a timer and a full loot log. Until then this page gives you the inputs (live prices and what drops) and leaves the arithmetic to you.

How to sell it without losing money

Argentleaf is a commodity, which means the US region shares one market and one price. There is no realm to pick and no stack size to choose. That makes selling simple, but it also means one large seller can move the price for everybody.

  1. Check the strip at the top of this page. If the current price is near the 14-day low, hold your herbs for a few days unless you need the gold now.
  2. Never vendor Argentleaf. The vendor pays 9 silver75 copper per herb in either grade, which is a small fraction of even the cheapest Silver price in our 14-day history.
  3. List Gold and Silver separately and price each against its own grade. A Gold herb listed at the Silver price is a gift to a crafter.
  4. Sell into demand. The days before a raid reset and the first week of a new raid tier are when flask crafters buy, because both flasks need Argentleaf.
  5. Keep a small reserve of Gold Argentleaf through patch days. Herb prices often jump when a patch changes a recipe, and you cannot gather fast enough to catch the jump after it starts.

Is Argentleaf worth farming?

It depends on one thing you control and one you do not. You control your Gold share: the higher your Herbalism skill and the further your specialization points go, the more of every node turns into the expensive grade. You do not control flask demand, which rises and falls with the raid calendar. When both line up, Argentleaf is one of the better Midnight herbs to stop for. When your Gold share is low, spend the trip on Azeroot instead, and come back to Argentleaf once your setup has improved.

The honest limit of this guide is the route. Until someone walks a timed loop with a full loot log, we will not print an hourly gold figure for Argentleaf. What you get here instead are the inputs that never go stale: live prices for both grades, the full list of recipes that create demand, and the arithmetic to decide between selling, milling and crafting.

How this guide was written

Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
