The short answer
Harandar is the herbalist's zone of Midnight, and miners should treat it as a secondary stop. The client tunes it for levels 83 to 88, the same band as Zul'Aman, and player reports describe fewer ore deposits here than in the other zones. The ore you do find is worth exactly what it is worth elsewhere: right now Gold grade copper sells for 24 gold36 silver, Gold silver for 21 gold31 silver and Gold tin for 19 gold60 silver. Harandar's mining angle is gems. The zone gives its name to
Harandar Peridot, which sells for 23 gold79 silver at Silver grade and 52 gold99 silver at Gold grade, and its Primal deposits release
Mote of Primal Energy, the mote that Jewelcrafters spend on Flawless Peridot cuts.
Harandar at a glance

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355
| Fact | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Zone | Harandar | client data |
| Area id | 15355 | client data |
| Level range | 83 to 88 | client content tuning |
| World map id | 2413 | client data |
| Themed deposit | Primal | player reports |
| Mote from themed deposits | Mote of Primal Energy | player reports |
| Ore density | lower than the other zones | player reports |
| Gem with the zone's name | Harandar Peridot (two grades, plus a Flawless version) | client data |

The zone is home to the Haranir, and much of what is crafted with its materials carries their name: Haranir phials in Alchemy, Haranir furniture in Leatherworking, and the Peridot itself.
The deposit list (player reports)
We have not walked Harandar with a loot log, so this list is what miners report, not what we have measured:
- Refulgent Copper deposits, in normal and Primal forms.
- Brilliant Silver deposits, in normal and Primal forms.
- Umbral Tin deposits, in normal and Primal forms.
- Dazzling Thorium, as a bonus from any of the above. There is no thorium node in any zone.
- Primal deposits give the normal ore plus Mote of Primal Energy.
What reports agree on is the shape: fewer deposits than Zul'Aman, but plenty of herbs. If your character has Herbalism too, Harandar becomes far more attractive, because the herb nodes fill the gaps between ore deposits.
Ore, stone and gem prices
| Material | Silver grade now | Gold grade now | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Refulgent Copper Ore | 4 gold98 silver | 24 gold36 silver | the only ore that smelts |
| Brilliant Silver Ore | 5 gold21 silver | 21 gold31 silver | feeds Sterling Alloy |
| Umbral Tin Ore | 5 gold65 silver | 19 gold60 silver | feeds Gloaming Alloy and Engineering |
| Dazzling Thorium | single grade: 8 gold85 silver | rare bonus from any deposit | |
| Harandar Peridot | 23 gold79 silver | 52 gold99 silver | cut by Jewelcrafters |
| Flawless Harandar Peridot | 25 gold5 silver | 69 gold80 silver | top tier cuts and the Kaleidoscopic Prism |
| Dusk-Shrouded Stone | 2 gold19 silver | 3 gold27 silver | Jewelcrafting stone, 43 recipes |
| Mote of Primal Energy | single grade: 57 silver | 78 recipes |
On 2026-10-08 a Silver grade Harandar Peridot sold for 20 gold48 silver, about four times a Silver grade ore, and a Gold grade Flawless Peridot sold for 89 gold98 silver, more than three Gold grade ores. Gems are where a Jewelcrafter's ore can turn into more value, if the prospecting yield cooperates.
The prospecting angle
Player reports say Jewelcrafters can prospect Midnight base ores into gems. Our datamine's recipe table does not list prospecting as a normal recipe, and we have not measured yields, so we will not put a number on it. You can find your own answer with one test:
- Prospect a full test batch of one ore at one grade, for example 100 Silver grade copper.
- Count every gem that comes out, by type and grade.
- Multiply each count by its live price from the table above.
- Compare the total with 100 times the live ore price. Take off the Auction House cut on whichever side you would sell.
- Repeat with Gold grade ore. Gold ore costs five to six times more, so it needs to give much better gems to pay.
If the gem total beats the ore total after the cut, prospect. If not, sell the ore. The answer can flip from week to week as gem prices move, and they move a lot: Gold grade Harandar Peridot ranged from 29 gold10 silver to 47 gold90 silver in the 14 days before 2026-10-08 and then printed 53 gold41 silver.
What Jewelcrafters do with Peridot
Our datamine lists these recipes for Harandar Peridot and its Flawless form:
| Recipe | Gem used | Other reagents |
|---|---|---|
| Deadly, Masterful, Quick and Versatile Peridot | 1 Harandar Peridot | 1 Glimmering Gemdust |
| Opalescent Amani Peridot | 4 Harandar Peridot | 6 Glimmering Gemdust, 8 Dusk-Shrouded Stone, 6 Thalassian Lumber |
| Stabilizing Gemstone Bandolier | 1 Harandar Peridot | 1 each of Sanguine Garnet, Tenebrous Amethyst, Amani Lapis, 3 Glimmering Gemdust |
| Flawless Deadly, Masterful, Quick and Versatile Peridot | 1 Flawless Harandar Peridot | 5 Glimmering Gemdust, 3 Mote of Primal Energy, 1 Petrified Root |
| Kaleidoscopic Prism | 1 Flawless Harandar Peridot | 1 of each other Flawless gem, 10 Glimmering Gemdust |
| Signet of Azerothian Blessings | 1 Flawless Harandar Peridot | 1 Kaleidoscopic Prism, 5 Dusk-Shrouded Stone, 1 Tormented Tantalum, 20 Mote of Primal Energy |
Look at the Flawless cuts: each one needs three Mote of Primal Energy. That is a neat pattern in the client data. Every Flawless gem colour is paired with one mote: Lapis with Wild Magic, Peridot with Primal Energy, Garnet with Light and Amethyst with Pure Void. So Harandar's themed mote and Harandar's gem meet in the same recipe. If you are a Jewelcrafter who also mines here, you collect both halves of a Flawless Peridot cut on one loop.
Mote of Primal Energy
On 2026-10-08 our tables priced Mote of Primal Energy at 70 silver, the highest of the four motes that day, inside a 14-day band of 22 silver to 95 silver. Our datamine lists 78 recipes that consume it. Leatherworking is the heaviest user: Rope Lynx Harness takes 40, and the Haranir furniture pieces (Simple Haranir Table, Haranir Canopy Bed) and World Tender armor take 20 each. Housing decor demand therefore reaches this mote too.
It is still a small number next to ore. A Flawless Peridot cut uses three motes, about 2 gold10 silver of the bill on our snapshot, next to a Petrified Root that cost 348 gold24 silver the same day. Keep the motes if you craft; sell them in bulk if you do not. Our Midnight motes guide compares all four.
How to work Harandar
We have not walked and timed a route here, so treat this as planning advice.
- Bring Herbalism if you have it. Harandar's value for a miner rises sharply when you also pick herbs.
- Take every deposit you see. With fewer deposits around, skipping one costs more than it does in Zul'Aman.
- Stop for Primal deposits if you or your Jewelcrafter use Primal motes.
- Prospect a test batch if you are a Jewelcrafter, using the five steps above.
- Switch to Zul'Aman for pure ore sessions. Player reports put it well ahead of Harandar for deposit count.

Why a thin ore zone can still pay
A zone with fewer deposits sounds like a zone to skip, and for a pure miner chasing volume it usually is. But there is a second effect worth thinking about. When most miners agree that Zul'Aman is the place to be, they go there, and the deposits in Harandar see less competition. A zone with fewer nodes and fewer miners can give you as many deposits in a session as a dense zone shared with five other players. We cannot measure that for you; it changes by realm, by time of day and by week of the patch. What you can do is notice it. If you arrive in Zul'Aman and see deposits vanishing in front of you, try a loop of Harandar instead and count your stops.
The same logic applies to the ore grades. Your Gold grade share depends on your skill and specialization, not on the zone, so a quiet zone gives you exactly the same share of Gold ore per deposit as a busy one. Only the number of deposits changes.
A Jewelcrafter's plan for the zone
If you are a Jewelcrafter, Harandar can carry a full session on its own. Here is how to think about it:
- Mine every deposit, keeping Silver grade ore aside for prospecting tests and Gold grade ore for sale or for a second test.
- Collect every Primal mote. Each Flawless Peridot cut needs three, and buying them in small amounts is a nuisance even if they are cheap.
- Prospect at the end of the session, not during, so you can compare the whole haul against the live prices in one go.
- Cut only what sells. A cut gem is only worth making if its live price beats the uncut gem plus the Gemdust and other reagents. A Flawless cut also needs a Petrified Root, which cost 348 gold24 silver on 2026-10-08, so check that line before anything else.
- Sell uncut gems in batches. Some gem prices more than doubled inside a fortnight in our history, so spreading sales over a few days protects you from selling the whole stack at a dip.
Quick questions
Is Harandar ore lower quality? No. The ore items are the same in every zone and sell on one region wide market.
Does Harandar Peridot only come from Harandar? The name ties it to the zone, but the client data does not say where gems drop or prospect from, and we have not measured it. Treat any claim that it only comes from Harandar ore as unproven.
Should a miner without Herbalism or Jewelcrafting come here? Only if the busier zones are crowded. Otherwise, player reports point to Zul'Aman for ore.
What to sell and what to keep
- Gold grade ore: sell steadily in batches.
- Silver grade ore: sell, prospect a test batch, or smelt copper if you are a Blacksmith with a good setup.
- Gems: sell uncut unless you can cut them at a profit; check the cut's live price first.
- Primal motes: keep for crafting or sell a full stack at once.
- Never vendor: ore vendors for 15 silver, Peridot for 40 silver.
Is Harandar worth mining?
As a pure mining zone, it is the weakest of the four on player reports. As a dual gather zone, or for a Jewelcrafter who prospects, it earns its place. We will not print an earning rate until we walk a timed route. For gem prices across all colours, read our Midnight gems and prospecting guide, and for the ore ranking, which Midnight ore is worth mining right now.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
