Eversong Woods Mining in Midnight: Ores, Levels and Prices
Eversong Woods mining for Midnight: the zone's levels and map, every ore priced live, Lightfused deposits and Mote of Light, and how to work the zone well.
Lowest current buyout, US region commodity market, read from our Auction House tables. Verified
The short answer
Eversong Woods is where Midnight mining starts. The client tunes the zone for levels 80 to 83, the lowest of the four outdoor zones, and miners report all three base ores here plus Lightfused deposits that drop
Mote of Light. Your ore is worth exactly the same here as anywhere else, because ore is a region wide commodity: right now Gold grade copper sells for 24 gold36 silver, Gold silver for 21 gold31 silver and Gold tin for 19 gold60 silver. What Eversong gives you is a calm place to learn the profession, level it, and collect the same ore with fewer interruptions. The Mote of Light side drop is cheap, at 58 silver, so do not plan a trip around it.

What you mine here and what it is worth
Every ore you pull in Eversong sells on the same US commodity market as ore mined in Voidstorm. There is no zone premium. Here is what each one was worth when we wrote this, and where it goes:
| Ore | Silver grade now | Gold grade now | Main buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Refulgent Copper Ore | 4 gold98 silver | 24 gold36 silver | Blacksmiths, smelted into ingots for both alloys |
| Brilliant Silver Ore | 5 gold21 silver | 21 gold31 silver | Blacksmiths, for Sterling Alloy |
| Umbral Tin Ore | 5 gold65 silver | 19 gold60 silver | Blacksmiths for Gloaming Alloy, Engineers for parts |
| Dazzling Thorium | single grade: 8 gold85 silver | Blacksmiths, for weapons and profession tools | |
| Mote of Light | single grade: 58 silver | 70 recipes across eight professions |
On 2026-10-08, the Gold grade of each base ore was worth roughly five to six times the Silver grade. That ratio is why skill matters more than zone choice. A miner at 80 with few specialization points will pull mostly Silver grade ore, and Eversong is a fine place to do that while skill climbs. Each ore has a deeper page: Refulgent Copper, Brilliant Silver, Umbral Tin and Dazzling Thorium.
Lightfused deposits and Mote of Light
Player reports describe Lightfused versions of the base ore deposits in Eversong Woods. Mining one gives the normal ore and also releases Mote of Light, which reports say you collect by moving into the bright patches that appear around the node. Our datamine does list Lightfused gathering spells for Midnight herbs, which fits the same theme, but we have not checked the mining side in game, so treat the details as reported.
Is the mote worth chasing? On 2026-10-08 our tables priced Mote of Light at 54 silver, with a 14-day range from 15 silver to 93 silver. A single Gold grade copper ore was worth more than forty motes that day. Collect them because you are already standing there, not because they pay.
The mote does have real uses, which is why it is not worthless. Our datamine lists 70 recipes that consume Mote of Light, spread across Alchemy, Enchanting, Engineering, Inscription, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Skinning and Tailoring. Leatherworkers use it most visibly: Silvermoon Weapon Wrap needs two, and Sin'dorei Armor Banding needs two. Both of those feed crafted weapons and armor. There is also an Alchemy transmute that turns ten Mote of Light and two Stabilized Derivate into one Mote of Wild Magic. Our Midnight motes guide compares all four motes.
How to work the zone, step by step
We have not walked and timed a route in Eversong Woods, so this is not a route with an earning rate. It is how to spend a session here sensibly.
- Start at the edges. Player reports agree that the middle of the zone sees the most traffic and the edges keep more untouched deposits. A loop that follows the coastline and the outer settlements is the usual advice.
- Mine every base deposit you pass. Any of them can drop Dazzling Thorium, and the base ore is the bulk of your value anyway.
- Take the Lightfused deposits too. Spend a moment on the motes if the patches are close, and move on if they are not.
- Do not fight more than you must. Eversong has the lowest mob pressure of the four zones according to player reports, which is its main advantage. Keep it that way by flying over packs rather than through them.
- Sort your bags at the end, not during. Gold and Silver grades stack separately; deal with them when you sell.
- Move on when your skill allows. Once your Mining specialization is filling in and your Gold share is rising, the zone's calm matters less than deposit density, which player reports put higher in Zul'Aman and, for a well geared character, in Voidstorm.

Eversong against the other three zones
| Zone | Levels | Themed deposit (player reports) | Mote | What player reports say |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eversong Woods | 80 to 83 | Lightfused | Mote of Light | calm, many deposits, good for learning |
| Zul'Aman | 83 to 88 | Wild | Mote of Wild Magic | dense and balanced, more mobs |
| Harandar | 83 to 88 | Primal | Mote of Primal Energy | stronger for herbs than ore |
| Voidstorm | 88 to 90 | Voidbound | Mote of Pure Void | some call it the most deposit rich; toughest mobs |
Levels come from the client. The rest of the table is what miners report, and we will replace it with measured data when we walk the routes. The key point is that the ore itself does not change between zones. You are choosing between calm, density and side drops, not between better and worse ore.

Zul'Aman: Levels 83-88, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15947
Zul'Aman is the natural next step: see the Zul'Aman mining guide.

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355

Voidstorm: Levels 88-90, Unknown, Zone ID 16648
Harandar and Voidstorm have their own guides: Harandar mining and Voidstorm mining.
Gearing your miner while you are here
Eversong is where most miners spend their first sessions, so it is the right moment to think about gear. Your Gold grade share, which decides most of your income, grows with skill, specialization and tools. Our datamine shows a clear three step pickaxe ladder, all made by Blacksmiths:
| Pickaxe | Reagents in our datamine | What that means for cost |
|---|---|---|
| Thalassian Pickaxe | 6 Refulgent Copper Ingot, 3 Luminant Flux | cheap, all copper |
| Sun-Blessed Pickaxe | 5 Sterling Alloy, 1 Majestic Claw, 2 Dazzling Thorium | mid cost, mostly alloy |
| Sunforged Pickaxe | 5 Sterling Alloy, 2 Majestic Claw, 2 Dazzling Thorium, 20 Fused Vitality | the top tier |
The first pickaxe is made almost entirely from the copper you are mining in this zone. If you have a Blacksmith friend or alt, hand them the ingots and pay only for the craft. The later pickaxes lean on Sterling Alloy, which is where silver earns its keep.
Scribes also make a Thalassian Treatise on Mining: one Munsell Ink, one Sienna Ink, three Lexicologist's Vellum and one Mote of Light, according to our datamine. Treatises are the usual weekly knowledge item for a profession, which makes this one of the few places where a Mote of Light ties straight back into mining progress. We have not measured how much knowledge it grants, so check the tooltip in game.
Mining and herbing on one character
Eversong is also one of the two zones where herbalists report Azeroot and Sanguithorn, according to our Argentleaf guide. If your character has both gathering professions, one loop here feeds both. That matters most early, when you are levelling two professions at once and every new node type gives skill. Later, when you care about value per node, the Gold grade share of each profession matters more than the zone.
What to sell and what to keep
- Sell Gold grade ore steadily. It carries most of the value and has buyers every day.
- Sell Silver grade ore, or smelt copper if you are a Blacksmith. Check our copper smelting math first; on our snapshot, smelting at the same grade lost money.
- Bank Dazzling Thorium in small amounts and list it when the price is in the top half of its 14-day band.
- Keep Motes of Light if any of your characters craft with them. Sell the rest in one large batch when you have a full stack, not a few at a time.
- Never vendor ore. Every base ore vendors for 15 silver, a tiny fraction of its market price.
Quick questions
Is the ore in Eversong worse than the ore in Voidstorm? No. The client data has one item per ore per grade, and the same item sells on the same market whichever zone it came from. Zone choice changes how many deposits you reach and what side drops you get, not the ore.
Can I mine here before level 80? The Midnight version of the zone is tuned for 80 to 83. The older Burning Crusade Eversong is a different area with its own old ores, and it has nothing to do with Midnight mining.
Do I need a Blacksmith? No. Every ore sells raw. A Blacksmith only helps if they can turn Silver grade ore into Gold grade ingots or alloys, which our ore guides show is where the crafting profit sits.
Why are my bags full of Silver grade ore? Your skill and specialization are still low. Keep mining; the Gold share climbs as you level and spend knowledge points.
Is Eversong Woods worth mining?
For a new miner, yes: it is the right place to start, level up and learn which ore you get most of. For an experienced miner chasing value, the ore is the same as anywhere, and player reports point to Zul'Aman, or Voidstorm if your gear handles it, for more deposits per trip. The honest limit of this page is the route: until we walk a timed loop with a full loot log, we will not print how much a session here earns. The live prices above are the inputs you need to judge it yourself. For the ore by ore ranking, read which Midnight ore is worth mining right now.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
