Skyforged Armor in WoW Forever: Recipes, Bars and Value
All sixteen Azure and Cloudy Skyforged mail recipes from the WoW Forever beta client, with bar counts, skill bands, required levels and what the pieces fetched on beta scans.
The short answer
Skyforged armor is a new mail set that Blacksmiths learn in WoW Forever. The beta client has sixteen recipes: eight Azure pieces and eight Cloudy pieces, the same slots in two colours. Twelve of them are cheap copper crafts in the 55 to 70 skill band that a new Blacksmith hits within the first evening, and four are Iron Bar helms and pauldrons at 185. Every piece is Bind on Equip in the client, so all of it can be sold. On the latest player scans Azure Skyforged Chain was listed at 45 silver, against a reagent bill of six
Copper Bar at 46 copper each. The listing is real, but it was on one house only, so treat the gap as a sign of interest rather than a proven margin.
Lowest buyout from player scans of the WoW Forever beta Auction House, as of beta build 70291. Beta prices are a testing economy and will not carry over to launch. Last verified
The sixteen recipes
Here is every Skyforged recipe in the client, with the reagents, the skill band and the item data. The Azure and Cloudy versions of each slot share the same reagents in the copper tier and differ only by one gem in the iron tier.
| Piece | Client skill band | Reagents | Required level | Item level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skyforged Wristguards | 55 to 60 | 5 Copper Bar | 5 | 10 |
| Skyforged Chain | 55 to 60 | 6 Copper Bar | 5 | 10 |
| Skyforged Gauntlets | 60 to 65 | 7 Copper Bar | 6 | 11 |
| Skyforged Greaves | 60 to 65 | 7 Copper Bar | 6 | 11 |
| Skyforged Chainmail | 65 to 70 | 8 Copper Bar, 1 Weak Flux | 7 | 12 |
| Skyforged Legguards | 65 to 70 | 8 Copper Bar, 1 Weak Flux | 7 | 12 |
| Azure Skyforged Helm | 185 to 190 | 18 Iron Bar, 5 Heavy Grinding Stone, 1 Aquamarine | 30 | 35 |
| Azure Skyforged Pauldrons | 185 to 190 | 14 Iron Bar, 3 Heavy Grinding Stone, 1 Aquamarine | 30 | 35 |
| Cloudy Skyforged Helm | 185 to 190 | 18 Iron Bar, 5 Heavy Grinding Stone, 1 Small Lustrous Pearl | 30 | 35 |
| Cloudy Skyforged Pauldrons | 185 to 190 | 14 Iron Bar, 3 Heavy Grinding Stone, 1 Small Lustrous Pearl | 30 | 35 |
The first six rows each stand for two recipes (one Azure, one Cloudy). All sixteen products are uncommon quality, all are mail armour, and all are Bind on Equip in the client data. Chain is the belt slot: the client icon for both Skyforged Chains is a mail belt.
Where Skyforged fits in Forever
Skyforged is not alone. The same Azure and Cloudy naming runs through two more professions in the beta client: Tailoring has an eight-piece Stormsewn cloth set in each colour, and Leatherworking has two leather sets per colour, Gustwoven and Windraveled. All of them follow the same pattern: six cheap pieces around skill 55 to 70 for required levels 5 to 7, and two head and shoulder pieces at 185 for required level 30. The client icons for these items carry the word "skyborne", which ties them to the new Skyborne race and its starting zone, Zephras Isle.
That gives you a market read. A Skyborne character leaving Zephras Isle at level 5 to 7 is exactly the buyer for a copper-tier Skyforged piece, and a Skyborne hunter or shaman wanting the matching look at 30 is the buyer for the helm. Mail wearers in Classic were hunters and shamans; we have not confirmed which classes the Skyborne can be in Forever, so we will not promise you a crowd of mail-wearing Skyborne.
Skyforged against the cloth and leather versions
Because all three professions got a matching set, you can compare what each costs to make and how the beta treated it. These are the copper-tier pieces only, the ones in the 55 to 70 skill band:
| Set | Profession | Pieces per colour (low tier) | Material per piece | Beta bill per piece | Typical beta listing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skyforged | Blacksmithing | 6 | 5 to 8 Copper Bar | 3 silver50 copper to 6 silver60 copper | 1 gold, one house |
| Stormsewn | Tailoring | 6 | 3 to 5 Bolt of Linen Cloth, thread | 2 silver67 copper to 3 silver85 copper | 30 silver to 80 silver, one house |
| Gustwoven | Leatherworking | 6 | 4 to 7 Light Leather, thread | 1 silver92 copper to 3 silver96 copper | 30 silver to 45 silver, often both houses |
| Windraveled | Leatherworking | 6 | 4 to 7 Light Leather, thread | 1 silver92 copper to 3 silver96 copper | 30 silver to 35 silver |
Skyforged was listed highest of the four, roughly three times the leather sets. It also cost the most to make, but only by a few copper per piece. The leather sets are the only ones that showed listings on both scanned houses, which makes their lower price the more trustworthy number. If the mail sets settle at even half their beta listing at launch, Skyforged is the most profitable of the four low-tier sets per craft.
The iron-tier pieces follow the same logic. On 2026-10-08 an Azure Gustwoven Hood cost about 1 gold81 silver in materials (fifteen Heavy Leather, three Cured Heavy Hide, a Heavy Silken Thread and four Blue Dye) and an Azure Stormsewn Cowl about 1 gold58 silver, close to a Cloudy Skyforged Helm's 1 gold90 silver. Three iron-tier pieces from the sister sets had beta listings, each on one house only: the Azure Gustwoven Hood at 7 gold50 silver, the Azure Gustwoven Spaulders at 6 gold50 silver and the Azure Stormsewn Cowl at 3 gold. None of the four Skyforged iron pieces had a listing. The leather hood's asking price is about four times its bill, which hints at what a 185 skill Skyborne-themed head piece might fetch at launch, but one house and no confirmed sales make it a hint, not a margin.
The bar math
Here is the material demand Skyforged creates, which no other page totals.
One full copper-tier set in one colour is six pieces: 5 + 6 + 7 + 7 + 8 + 8 = 41 Copper Bars, plus two Weak Flux. Both colours is 82 Copper Bars and four flux. A Blacksmith who makes each copper-tier recipe once for the skill-ups burns 82 bars without leaving the 55 to 70 band.
On 2026-10-08 our tables read a Copper Bar at 70 copper, so 82 bars cost 57 silver40 copper, and the flux added 4 silver. Put another way: both copper sets cost less in materials than one listing of a single piece on the beta.
The iron tier is where the money goes. Each colour's Helm and Pauldrons together take 32
Iron Bar and 8
Heavy Grinding Stone, plus one gem per piece. The gem is the whole difference between the colours:
| Piece | Bars and stone at beta prices | Gem | Gem price | Full bill | Gem share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Azure Skyforged Helm | 1 gold84 silver | Aquamarine | 2 gold25 silver | 4 gold9 silver | 55% |
| Azure Skyforged Pauldrons | 1 gold38 silver | Aquamarine | 2 gold25 silver | 3 gold63 silver | 62% |
| Cloudy Skyforged Helm | 1 gold84 silver | Small Lustrous Pearl | 6 silver10 copper | 1 gold90 silver | 3% |
| Cloudy Skyforged Pauldrons | 1 gold38 silver | Small Lustrous Pearl | 6 silver10 copper | 1 gold44 silver | 4% |
On the beta,
Aquamarine cost more than thirty times a
Small Lustrous Pearl. An Azure helm cost more than twice a Cloudy one for the same bars. Unless Azure pieces sell for far more than Cloudy ones, the Cloudy versions are the better craft for skill-ups and for sale.
What the beta scans showed
All twelve copper-tier pieces had at least one listing, and almost all sat at 1 gold each; the two Legguards were a little under, at 99 silver and 85 silver. Each listing was on a single house. The iron-tier pieces had no listings at all, which fits a beta cap that has only just moved past level 20.
| What we can say | What we cannot say yet |
|---|---|
| Someone listed every copper piece at roughly 15 to 28 times its bar cost | Whether anything sold at that price |
| Both colours listed at the same price | Whether one colour will carry a premium |
| The pieces are Bind on Equip, so resale is possible | How the stats compare with dungeon drops at level 5 to 12 |
The honest read: copper-tier Skyforged costs almost nothing to make, so even a modest launch price is profit, and the cost to test the market is a handful of Copper Bars.
How to craft and sell Skyforged
- Get Blacksmithing to 55 on the usual copper recipes. Keep 82 Copper Bars and four Weak Flux aside if you want both colours.
- Make one of each copper-tier piece in the colour you think will sell. Cloudy and Azure use identical copper bills, so pick by look.
- List single pieces, one per slot, at a price that is a clear multiple of the bar cost but under the current lowest listing. Check the strip above before you post.
- Keep making them while they give skill-ups (they turn grey at 60, 65 and 70 by slot). Past that, only craft to restock what sold.
- At 185, make Cloudy Helm and Pauldrons first. They cost less than half of the Azure ones at beta prices.
- Only craft Azure iron pieces to order, or when Aquamarine falls close to a pearl.
Risks and what to watch
- Single-house listings. Every Skyforged price on the beta came from one house. One seller can set the whole "market" with a single post.
- Dungeon drops. Level 5 to 12 players also get greens from quests and dungeons. If those are better, Skyforged becomes a cosmetic sale, not a gear sale.
- Aquamarine supply. The Azure iron pieces depend on one gem. If it stays expensive, Azure helms will be rare and may carry a premium; if it drops, the colour gap closes.
- Launch reset. The beta economy does not carry over. Expect the first launch week to set new prices from scratch.
Watch three numbers at launch: the Copper Bar price (your whole copper-tier bill), the Aquamarine price (more than half of each Azure iron piece), and the first real sales of each Skyforged slot.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. WoW Forever is in beta: every fact here is labelled with the client build it was read from and can change before launch. Read the full method or the about page.
