Tranquility Bloom in Midnight: The Bulk Herb and Where Its Value Hides
Tranquility Bloom priced live in both grades, the 26 recipes that eat it, the Mulch sink inside Herbalism itself, and when bulk Silver is still worth carrying.

The short answer
Tranquility Bloom is the cheap herb that everything needs. Silver sells for 2 gold and Gold for 2 gold20 silver on the US commodity market, and the gap between the two grades is the smallest of any Midnight herb: on 2026-10-08 Gold was only about 1.3 times the Silver price. That flat spread is the whole story. A Gold Tranquility Bloom is barely worth more than a Silver one, so your Gold share hardly matters here, and every node pays roughly the same. You do not farm Tranquility Bloom for its price per herb. You pick it because it is everywhere, it fills the bags on the way to better nodes, and it feeds the Mulches that make your other herbs worth more.
What the client says about it
Our datamine of client build 12.1.0.69933 lists two items named Tranquility Bloom:
Tranquility Bloom at Silver quality and
Tranquility Bloom at Gold. Both are item level 80 Trade Goods with the same vendor price of 7 silver50 copper. The gathering spell carries a short piece of lore that explains the name: the environmental changes in Quel'Thalas reshaped the humble Peacebloom, and the strain that adapted got the name Tranquility Bloom. The same text calls it "a staple of local crafting" used in "a wide variety of recipes". That is not marketing copy for once. It is the most widely used herb of the expansion by recipe count.
Every base herb in Midnight works the same way: one material, two grades. A recipe slot that asks for Tranquility Bloom accepts either grade, and the grade you feed in pushes the quality of what comes out. For most herbs that makes Gold the valuable half. For Tranquility Bloom it barely does, and the reason is the size of the demand: so many recipes need eight of it that crafters buy whatever is cheapest and save their Gold budget for the herbs that cost real gold.
Who buys it: 26 recipes
Our recipe lookup returns 26 recipes that take Tranquility Bloom as a reagent: 21 in Alchemy, 3 in Herbalism, 1 in Cooking and 1 in Leatherworking. No other Midnight herb comes close. Azeroot is second with 24, and Argentleaf has only 8. If you add one craft of every recipe together, the bill comes to 193 Tranquility Bloom. The same sum for Argentleaf is 33.
| Recipe | Profession | Tranquility Bloom per craft | What else it needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Empowered Mulch | Herbalism | 20 | nothing else |
| Imbued Mulch | Herbalism | 10 | nothing else |
| Eversong Botanist's Satchel | Leatherworking | 10 | 20 Void-Tempered Leather, 20 Void-Tempered Scales, 10 Silverleaf Thread |
| Light's Potential | Alchemy | 8 | 5 Sunglass Vial, 3 Argentleaf, 3 Azeroot, 1 Mote of Light |
| Haranir Phial of Perception | Alchemy | 8 | 4 Sunglass Vial, 6 Azeroot, 3 Argentleaf, 2 Mote of Wild Magic |
| Haranir Phial of Finesse | Alchemy | 8 | 4 Sunglass Vial, 6 Mana Lily, 3 Azeroot, 2 Mote of Primal Energy |
| Lightfused Mana Potion | Alchemy | 8 | 5 Sunglass Vial, 3 Mana Lily |
| Potion of Zealotry | Alchemy | 8 | 5 Sunglass Vial, 10 Azeroot, 1 Mote of Light |
| Composite Flora | Alchemy | 6 | 4 Argentleaf, 4 Mote of Wild Magic, 4 Mote of Primal Energy |
| Silvermoon Health Potion | Alchemy | 6 | 5 Sunglass Vial |
| Tranquility Bloom Tea | Cooking | 6 | 1 Mana-Wyrm Essence |
| Magical Mulch | Herbalism | 5 | nothing else |
| Wondrous Synergist | Alchemy | 2 | 2 each of the other four base herbs, 4 Stabilized Derivate |
The table shows the shape of the demand. Almost every combat potion and both Haranir phials open with eight Tranquility Bloom, so Alchemy pulls it off the market in large, steady volumes. Nothing spikes it the way raid night spikes the flask herbs: Tranquility Bloom is not in any of the four raid flasks; the only flask that takes it is the PvP Vicious Thalassian Flask of Honor, six per craft. It moves with general potion crafting, which is why its price chart is the calmest of the five herbs.
The Mulch sink: Herbalism eats its own herb
Three of the 26 recipes belong to Herbalism itself. Our datamine lists
Magical Mulch,
Imbued Mulch and
Empowered Mulch, made from 5, 10 and 20 Tranquility Bloom and nothing else. Player guides describe them as consumables that improve your next gather: Magical Mulch for extra yield, Imbued Mulch for a guaranteed rare reagent and Empowered Mulch for Gold quality. We have not tested the effects ourselves, so treat those descriptions as player reports. The recipes and their costs are datamine fact.
This is where Tranquility Bloom's value hides. At 2026-10-08 prices, a stack of 20 Silver Tranquility Bloom cost 33 gold20 silver on the market. If Empowered Mulch really does turn the next node into Gold herbs, and you use it on a Sanguithorn node, the gain is measured against the Silver to Gold gap of Sanguithorn, which was about 16 gold82 silver per herb that day. Imbued Mulch at 16 gold60 silver of Silver Bloom against a
Nocturnal Lotus at 264 gold96 silver is the comparison serious pickers care about. Either way the pattern holds: the cheap herb is worth more as a tool than as a sale.
Silver against Gold: the flattest spread in Midnight
On 2026-10-08 our tables read Silver at 1 gold66 silver and Gold at 2 gold20 silver. Over the previous fourteen days Silver traded between 1 silver and 1 gold25 silver, and Gold between 1 gold5 silver and 1 gold84 silver. Both grades were sitting above their two-week highs on the evening we checked, which is worth noticing: Tranquility Bloom had a good day.
| Herb | Silver now | Gold now | Gold over Silver (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tranquility Bloom | 2 gold | 2 gold20 silver | about 1.3x |
| Azeroot | 17 gold64 silver | 34 gold98 silver | about 2.2x |
| Argentleaf | 3 gold82 silver | 37 gold | about 8x |
| Mana Lily | 89 silver | 21 gold68 silver | about 10x |
| Sanguithorn | 47 silver | 19 gold78 silver | about 29x |
Here is the number that matters for a picker. Suppose your Herbalism setup improves and your Gold share on Tranquility Bloom rises by ten points. Per hundred herbs, that converts ten Silver herbs into ten Gold herbs, worth ten times the gap of 54 silver, so about 5 gold40 silver more per hundred. The same ten-point gain on Argentleaf was worth about 294 gold60 silver per hundred on the same day. That is why every Herbalism build guide puts Gold-share points into the expensive herbs first. On Tranquility Bloom you can ignore grade entirely and think only about volume.
The flat spread has one more consequence. Since the Silver grade holds most of the value, Tranquility Bloom is the one herb where a brand-new herbalist with no specialization points earns nearly as much per node as a veteran. If you just picked up Herbalism on an alt, this is the herb that does not punish you for it.
Where its value shows up in a reagent bill
Look at the cost of one craft of
Composite Flora, which takes 6 Tranquility Bloom and 4 Argentleaf, at 2026-10-08 Silver prices:
| Reagent | Quantity | Unit price (2026-10-08) | Line cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tranquility Bloom (Silver) | 6 | 1 gold66 silver | 9 gold96 silver |
| Argentleaf (Silver) | 4 | 4 gold24 silver | 16 gold96 silver |
| Mote of Wild Magic | 4 | 60 silver | 2 gold40 silver |
| Mote of Primal Energy | 4 | 70 silver | 2 gold80 silver |
| Total | 32 gold12 silver |
Tranquility Bloom is 31 percent of that bill even though it is the cheapest herb, because the recipe asks for more of it than anything else. Now take Light's Potential: 8 Bloom at 13 gold28 silver out of a total of 86 gold29 silver, about 15 percent, with Azeroot carrying most of the cost. Switching all eight to Gold adds only 4 gold32 silver to the craft. For an alchemist chasing a top-grade potion, Gold Tranquility Bloom is the cheapest quality upgrade in the whole bill, which keeps a floor under the Gold price even when Silver floods.
When bulk Silver is still worth carrying
Silver Tranquility Bloom sells for very little per herb, and bag space is finite. Use these rules to decide whether to keep it:
- Keep it if you have unlocked any Mulch. Thirty-five herbs make one of each, and the Mulches only make sense if you have them on hand when a good node appears.
- Keep it if you or a guildmate run Alchemy. Twenty-one recipes start with it, and buying it back later costs you the Auction House cut twice.
- Sell it if the live price sits near its 14-day high, as it did on 2026-10-08. A cheap herb at a local high is the best moment to clear a stack.
- Sell it in full stacks to the commodity market. There is no realm choice and no stack sizing in Midnight commodities, so the only decision is price.
- Never vendor it. The vendor pays 7 silver50 copper per herb. That is above the worst 14-day low we recorded (1 silver), so on a truly dead market day the vendor briefly wins, but on a normal day the market pays more than double.
Where to look for Tranquility Bloom
Herbalists report Tranquility Bloom in every outdoor Midnight zone, which matches its role as the bulk herb. We have not walked and timed a route in any zone yet. The zone levels below come from the client's own content tuning data. The datamine also tells you something useful about node types: each zone has its own infused variant of every herb, and Tranquility Bloom has all of them. Our spell data lists Lush, Lightfused, Primal, Wild and Voidbound Tranquility Bloom as separate gathering spells.

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355
Harandar is where the Primal variant grows. The client text says gathering a Primal herb gifts you an extra charge for your Skyriding abilities, so a Primal Bloom is worth stopping for even though the herb itself is cheap.

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968
Eversong Woods is the lowest zone of the range and home to Lightfused herbs. The client says Lightfused herbs release motes of holy energy and yield extra resources.

Zul'Aman: Levels 83-88, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15947
Zul'Aman has Wild herbs. Picking one releases a burst of nature magic and spawns hostile herb lashers, according to the datamined description, so be ready to fight on a Wild node.

Voidstorm: Levels 88-90, Unknown, Zone ID 16648
Voidstorm sits at the top of the level range and holds the Void variant.

- Level
- 80 or higher (Eversong Woods 80 to 83, Harandar and Zul'Aman 83 to 88, Voidstorm 88 to 90)
- Profession

- Travel
- Skyriding; Primal nodes in Harandar refill a charge

How to fit it into a farming session
Tranquility Bloom is rarely the reason you go out, but it decides how full your bags are when you come back. A sensible plan:
- Pick a target herb for the session from our herb comparison, usually the one with the best Gold price for your Gold share.
- Pick every Tranquility Bloom node you pass on the way. They cost nothing extra and keep the Mulch supply full.
- Stop for infused Bloom variants above plain ones. Primal refills Skyriding, Lightfused gives motes, Lush yields more.
- At the end of the session, keep 35 to 60 for Mulches and alchemy, and list the rest if the strip shows the price in the top half of its 14-day range.
- Check again after a patch. Recipes that change reagent counts move bulk herbs hardest, because a change of two herbs per craft multiplies across thousands of crafts.
Is Tranquility Bloom worth farming?
Not as a target. As a by-catch, always. Its per-herb price is the lowest of the five base herbs, and the Gold premium is too thin to reward a high-skill build. But it is the reagent the whole Alchemy profession starts from, it is the only input to all three Mulches, and it is the one herb where a fresh herbalist earns the same as a veteran. Carry it, use it, sell the surplus on good days, and spend your attention on the herbs where grade pays: Azeroot, Argentleaf and Sanguithorn. For the whole family in one place, see the Herbalism hub and the retail guides index.
