Fishing for Gold in Midnight: Every Fish Priced
Every Midnight fish priced live with 14-day ranges, the cooking, lure and crafting recipes behind each one, and which catches to keep, sell or ignore.

The short answer
Midnight fishing pays through a handful of fish, and they are not always the rare ones. Right now the top of the US market is
Null Voidfish at 55 gold97 silver,
Blood Hunter at 7 gold10 silver,
Shimmersiren at 33 gold50 silver and
Arcane Wyrmfish at 41 gold97 silver. Arcane Wyrmfish is common quality and still outprices most of the rare fish, while
Hollow Grouper sells for 31 silver because, as far as our datamine shows, no recipe uses it at all. The rule that falls out of our data is simple: a fish is worth what its recipes need, not what its tooltip colour says. Keep the fish that feed feasts, lures and high-end food; sell or skip the ones nothing consumes.
Every Midnight fish, priced
This is every Midnight fish our tables price, sorted by the reading we took on the evening of 2026-10-08. The vendor price is the same for all of them, so the vendor column is left out.

Two warnings before you read too much into one row. First, several fish read well above their own 14-day high when we wrote this: Blood Hunter, Null Voidfish, Ominous Octopus, Lucky Loa and Eversong Trout all did. Fish markets are thin, so a few buyers on one evening can lift the floor sharply. Second, that means the 14-day range is the better guide to what a fish is usually worth, and the live price tells you whether today is a good day to sell. A fish reading three times its usual high is a fish to list now.
What each fish is for
Fish in Midnight feed four kinds of recipe: Cooking (food and feasts), Fishing (lures and wards), Skinning (Majestic lures that skinners use) and a little Alchemy and Enchanting. Here is the demand side for the fish that matter.
| Fish | What uses it (our datamine) |
|---|---|
| Null Voidfish | Ominous Octopus Lure (Fishing, 5 each); Grand Beast Lure (Skinning, 4 each) |
| Blood Hunter | Amani Cornucopia feast (20); Braised Blood Hunter (6); Sweet-And-Sour Skewers (3); Tokka's Multi-Ward (3); Amani Angler's Ward (2) |
| Shimmersiren | Glitter Skewers (2) |
| Arcane Wyrmfish | Silvermoon Parade feast (4); Majestic Eversong Lure (Skinning, 8) |
| Ominous Octopus | Crimson Calamari (6); Majestic Voidstorm Lure (Skinning, 4); Null and Void Plate (1) |
| Lucky Loa | Loa's Gathering feast (20); Sweet-And-Sour Skewers (3) |
| Gore Guppy | Majestic Zul'Aman Lure (Skinning, 8); Blood Hunter Lure (Fishing, 5) |
| Eversong Trout | Quel'dorei Medley feast (6); School of Gems (Alchemy, 4); Eversong Pudding (1); Enchanted Voidwell Fish (Enchanting, 1) |
| Bloomtail Minnow | School of Gems (Alchemy, 12); Fried Bloomtail (5) |
| Twisted Tetra | Tasty Smoked Tetra (6) |
| Lynxfish | Silvermoon Parade feast (4); Majestic Eversong Lure (Skinning, 8) |
| Fungalskin Pike | Majestic Harandar Lure (Skinning, 8) |
| Hollow Grouper | nothing in our extract |
The table explains the price order better than rarity does. Arcane Wyrmfish and Gore Guppy are common, but both are eaten eight at a time by Skinning lures, and Wyrmfish also feeds a feast. Blood Hunter and Lucky Loa each go twenty at a time into a feast. Hollow Grouper has no buyer at all, which is why it is the cheapest fish we track.
Why common fish can beat rare ones
It is natural to assume that a rare fish is a valuable fish. In Midnight that assumption fails often enough to cost you gold. On 2026-10-08 the common Arcane Wyrmfish sold for more than the rare Eversong Trout, Twisted Tetra, Lucky Loa and Warping Wise. The common Gore Guppy outsold the rare Eversong Trout and the rare Warping Wise. Meanwhile the uncommon Hollow Grouper was the cheapest fish we track.
Price follows two things: how many units a recipe eats, and how many people want that recipe. A Skinning lure that needs eight Wyrmfish creates more demand per craft than a dish that needs one Trout. A feast that needs twenty Blood Hunters creates more demand than a snack that needs two. Quality colour only tells you how often the fish turns up, and a fish that turns up rarely but feeds nothing is still worthless. When you are deciding what to keep in your bags on a long session, look at the recipe column above, not the colour of the name.
What we do not know yet
We do not know catch rates for any fish in any pool, and we have not timed a session. We do not know how much each fishing lure improves your chances of its target fish. We do not know exactly what the Skinning lures summon. Our pool and zone notes are player reports, because the client data we read does not include fishing loot tables. Each of these is on our list to measure. Until then, the parts of this page you can rely on are the live prices, the 14-day ranges and the recipe demand, all of which come straight from our own tables and datamine.
Our analysis: fish lures against the fish inside them
Fishing has its own lures, made from fish, that help you catch a target fish. Our datamine has three of them with Auction House data we can check:
| Lure | Reagents | Reagent value (2026-10-08) | Lure sold for (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Hunter Lure | 5 Gore Guppy | 122 gold50 silver | 4 gold50 silver |
| Lucky Loa Lure | 5 Sin'dorei Swarmer | 2 gold50 silver | 2 gold |
| Ominous Octopus Lure | 5 Null Voidfish | 430 gold30 silver | no listings |
The Blood Hunter Lure is the striking row. On 2026-10-08 the five Gore Guppies that make one lure were worth about 27 times what the finished lure sold for. Even at the 14-day lows the Guppies were worth about 99 gold95 silver against a lure low of 1 gold99 silver. Whatever the lure does for your Blood Hunter catches, crafting it from Guppies you could sell is a large cost. Only craft it if you are sure the extra Blood Hunters it brings are worth more than 29 gold times five. The Lucky Loa Lure is the opposite: its Swarmers are nearly worthless, so crafting it costs almost nothing. We have not measured how much either lure changes your catch, so we leave that side of the sum to you.
Skinning lures: where fishers meet skinners
Four of the fish above are eaten by Skinning recipes named Majestic lures, plus the Grand Beast Lure. Skinners describe these as lures that draw out a beast worth skinning for rare parts; we have not confirmed what each one summons, so read that as a player report.
| Skinning lure | Fish needed | Fish value (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|
| Majestic Eversong Lure | 8 Arcane Wyrmfish, 8 Lynxfish | 363 gold52 silver |
| Grand Beast Lure | 4 Null Voidfish | 344 gold24 silver |
| Majestic Zul'Aman Lure | 8 Gore Guppy | 196 gold |
| Majestic Voidstorm Lure | 4 Ominous Octopus | 158 gold40 silver |
| Majestic Harandar Lure | 8 Fungalskin Pike, 8 Tender Lumifin | 64 gold |
For a fisher this is the demand that keeps commons like Wyrmfish and Guppy expensive. Skinners chasing a Majestic Hide, which sold for 1,736 gold66 silver when we checked, will pay real money for the fish that make their lures. Our Majestic skinning finds guide has the other half of that trade.
One more number puts the four Majestic lures side by side. Divide each lure's fish value by the Majestic Hide price on the same evening (1,750 gold5 silver) and you get the share of lures that would need to yield one Hide just to pay for the fish: about 21 percent for Eversong, 11 percent for Zul'Aman, 9 percent for Voidstorm and under 4 percent for Harandar. That is our own arithmetic, it ignores every other part a beast might give, and we do not know the real yield of any lure. It does tell a fisher which fish carry the most lure risk. If skinners decide the Eversong lure is not worth its price, Wyrmfish loses a buyer; the Harandar fish are so cheap that the lure stays attractive almost whatever it yields. The Arcane Wyrmfish page works through that case in detail.
Where to fish
We have not walked or timed a fishing route in any Midnight zone, so there is no catch rate on this page. Zone levels come from the client's content tuning data; pool and catch notes are player reports.

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968
Eversong Woods (80 to 83) is the starting zone. Players report Eversong Trout as its signature catch, along with Arcane Wyrmfish, Lynxfish and Gore Guppy in its waters. It is also where the fishing trainer and supplies are, in Silvermoon City.

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355
Harandar (83 to 88) is where players send fishers once they are set up. Its notable catches in player reports include Blood Hunter and Lucky Loa, and its Majestic lure is built from Fungalskin Pike and Tender Lumifin.

Zul'Aman: Levels 83-88, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15947
Zul'Aman (83 to 88) gets its own Majestic lure from Gore Guppy, a sign that the Guppy is at home there.

Voidstorm: Levels 88-90, Unknown, Zone ID 16648
Voidstorm (88 to 90) is linked to the void fish in player reports: Null Voidfish and Ominous Octopus. Players also say its fishing is mostly in special pools rather than open water.

No hourly gold figure is published here until this route has been walked end to end with a timer and a full loot log. Until then this page gives you the inputs (live prices and what drops) and leaves the arithmetic to you.
Keep, sell or skip
- Sell into spikes. If a fish reads well above its 14-day high, list it now. Thin fish markets do not stay high for long.
- Keep feast fish when feasts are in demand. Blood Hunter, Lucky Loa, Eversong Trout, Arcane Wyrmfish and Lynxfish all feed feasts; raid nights pull on them.
- Sell lure fish to skinners. Wyrmfish, Guppy, Pike, Lumifin, Null Voidfish and Octopus are eaten by Skinning lures.
- Do not turn Gore Guppy into Blood Hunter Lures for sale. The Guppies were worth far more than the lure on our tables.
- Do not chase Hollow Grouper. Nothing in our extract uses it. The Auction House paid 17 silver to 30 silver in our 14-day window against 12 silver50 copper from the vendor, so list a stack if you have one, but with no recipe behind it there is no buyer who needs it.
Is fishing worth it in Midnight?
Fishing is a calm, low-risk way to earn, and Midnight gives it real demand through feasts and both kinds of lure. The value is lumpy: a session that lands several Blood Hunters or Null Voidfish on a high evening is very good, and a session full of Grouper and Lumifin is not. Read the Blood Hunter and Arcane Wyrmfish pages for the two fish that matter most, and our cooking guide for what cooks do with your catch.
What we cannot give you yet is a rate. Nobody on our side has logged a timed session, so the page gives you prices, recipes and decisions, and says "not walked yet" where a rate would go.
Changelog
- 2026-10-08: First version. Fish recipe lists from our datamine of client build 12.1.0.69933; live prices from our US commodity tables; snapshot figures dated 2026-10-08.
- 2026-10-08: Review pass. Added the lure break-even shares and corrected the Hollow Grouper advice (the Auction House paid above vendor in our window).
How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
