The short answer
Five rare items turn an ordinary Midnight skinning session into a good one. Ranked by today's US price:
Majestic Hide at 1,736 gold66 silver,
Majestic Fin at 159 gold85 silver,
Fantastic Fur at 79 gold,
Majestic Claw at 35 gold and
Peerless Plumage at 25 gold31 silver. The Majestic Hide alone is worth more than the other four combined, and on 2026-10-08 one Hide was worth about 34 Majestic Claws. That ranking decides everything: sell the Hide carefully and one at a time, treat the Fin as a solid bonus, and move the Claw, Fur and Plumage without overthinking them. We do not know the drop rate of any of these, and this page will not guess one.
The five finds
All five are single-grade items, unlike the Void-Tempered skins. There is no Silver and Gold split, so one listing covers each. The three Majestic pieces are epic quality and vendor for 1 gold; Fantastic Fur and Peerless Plumage are uncommon and vendor for 25 silver.
| Find | Quality | Now | 14-day low (2026-10-08) | 14-day high (2026-10-08) | Recipes that use it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Majestic Hide | epic | 1,736 gold66 silver | 1,683 gold | 1,943 gold87 silver | 13 |
| Majestic Fin | epic | 159 gold85 silver | 294 gold99 silver | 415 gold26 silver | 14 |
| Fantastic Fur | uncommon | 79 gold | 25 gold94 silver | 94 gold99 silver | 18 |
| Majestic Claw | epic | 35 gold | 41 gold95 silver | 65 gold11 silver | 24 |
| Peerless Plumage | uncommon | 25 gold31 silver | 20 gold91 silver | 36 gold | 16 |
Two things jump out. First, rarity on the tooltip does not predict price: Fantastic Fur is only uncommon, yet it outsold the epic Majestic Claw on the day we checked. Second, the Claw has the most recipes and the lowest Majestic price. A long recipe list does not mean high demand per recipe; it can mean many recipes that each get crafted a few times.
Majestic Hide: the one that matters
Majestic Hide appears in 13 recipes across six professions. The list is short, but every recipe on it is expensive, and the Hide is usually the single most costly reagent.
| Recipe | Profession | Majestic Hide per craft |
|---|---|---|
| Infused Scalewoven Hide | Leatherworking | 1 |
| Thalassian Wildseeker's Stridercap | Leatherworking | 1 |
| Haranir Canopy Bed | Leatherworking | 2 |
| Sun-Blessed Leatherworker's Toolset | Blacksmithing | 1 |
| Sunforged Leatherworker's Toolset | Blacksmithing | 2 |
| Heavy-Duty Rock Assister, Junker's Big Ol' Bag, Rock Bonkin' Hardhat, Sin'dorei Gilded Hardhat | Engineering | 1 each |
| Aln'hara Cane, Aln'hara Pikestaff | Inscription | 1 each |
| Mage-Eye Precision Loupes | Jewelcrafting | 1 |
Our extract also links one Enchanting formula (Enchant Chest, Mark of the Worldsoul) to the Hide.
The first row is the one that shapes the market. Infused Scalewoven Hide feeds 38 crafted recipes, and every Infused Hide needs one Majestic Hide. Our Scalewoven Hide guide shows the full bill: on 2026-10-08 the Majestic Hide was about 99 percent of an Infused Hide's reagent cost, and the Infused Hide sold for less than the Majestic Hide inside it. If you skin a Majestic Hide, selling it raw beat infusing it on every day of our 14-day window.
Majestic Fin: tools and fishing gear
The Fin's 14 recipes lean toward profession tools: two Blacksmith's Toolboxes, six Engineering pieces (two fishing rods, the Clampers, a Headlamp, Giga-Gem Grippers and the Head-Mounted Beam Bummer), the Aln'hara Sprigshot for Inscription, and three Leatherworking pieces including the Wildseeker's Workbag. Two Enchanting formulas reference it as well.
Tool demand is steady but front-loaded. Crafters buy a tool once and keep it, so Fin demand is highest early in a patch and when a new tool tier appears. The 14-day high of 415 gold26 silver against today's 159 gold85 silver suggests the early rush has eased. If you are sitting on Fins, do not wait for that high to return on its own.
Majestic Claw: many recipes, cheap input
The Claw is in 24 recipes, half of them Blacksmithing tools. The pattern is tidy: each Sun-Blessed tool (Hammer, Leatherworker's Knife, Needle Set, Pickaxe, Sickle, Skinning Knife) takes one Claw, and each Sunforged upgrade of the same tool takes two Claws plus 20 Fused Vitality. Engineering adds four more tools, Inscription adds the Aln'hara Lantern and two Rolling Pins, Leatherworking adds two housing pieces and the Hideshaper's Regalia, and two Enchanting formulas list it.
| Tool family | Claws per craft | Recipes |
|---|---|---|
| Sun-Blessed tools (Blacksmithing) | 1 | 6 |
| Sunforged tools (Blacksmithing) | 2 | 6 |
| Engineering tools (Snippers, Multitools) | 1 | 4 |
| Inscription (Lantern, Rolling Pins) | 1 to 2 | 3 |
On 2026-10-08 a Sun-Blessed tool (5 Sterling Alloy, 1 Claw, 2 Dazzling Thorium) had a reagent bill of about 392 gold, and the Claw was about 51 gold of it, roughly 13 percent. A full set of six Sunforged tools needs 12 Claws. The Claw is a minor part of a tool's cost, which is why its price stays modest: crafters will pay what it asks without much thought, but nobody needs dozens.
Fantastic Fur and Peerless Plumage: the crafting feathers and fur
These two uncommon finds have the broadest spread of buyers outside skinning tools.
| Find | Leatherworking | Tailoring | Other |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fantastic Fur | 12 recipes, including Sin'dorei Armor Banding, Scout's and Smuggler's pieces, housing rugs and Void-Touched Drums | 4 recipes: Sunfire Cloak, Arcanoweave Cloak, two bags (8 Fur each) | Box of Rocks (Alchemy, 8 Fur), one Enchanting formula |
| Peerless Plumage | 7 recipes, including the Thalassian Scout Armor Kit, Void-Touched Drums and two charms | 8 recipes: every piece of the Martyr's set (1 each) | one Enchanting formula |
Fantastic Fur's key recipe is Sin'dorei Armor Banding: one Fur, one Void-Tempered Plating and two Motes of Light. Banding goes into almost every crafted epic armor piece, one or two at a time. On 2026-10-08 the Fur was about 94 percent of a Banding's reagent cost, so Fur price and Banding price move together. The two Tailoring bags that take eight Fur each are the other big sink.
Peerless Plumage is quieter. Each Martyr's piece takes one, and the Scout Armor Kit takes one. Its price climbed through the 14-day window and sat at the top of it when we checked, which usually means a crafting wave is underway.
The lure question
Our datamine has four Skinning recipes named Majestic lures, all made from fish, plus a Grand Beast Lure made from 4 Null Voidfish:
| Lure | Reagents | Reagent bill (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|
| Majestic Eversong Lure | 8 Arcane Wyrmfish, 8 Lynxfish | 363 gold52 silver |
| Majestic Zul'Aman Lure | 8 Gore Guppy | 196 gold |
| Majestic Voidstorm Lure | 4 Ominous Octopus | 158 gold40 silver |
| Majestic Harandar Lure | 8 Fungalskin Pike, 8 Tender Lumifin | 64 gold |
The names and the Skinning tag point to lures that draw out a majestic beast in that zone, and skinners describe them that way. We have not confirmed what each lure summons or what it drops, so treat this as a player report. The math you can do yourself: a lure is only worth it if the finds it produces are worth more than its bill. With Majestic Hide near 1,750 gold on the same evening, a single Hide would cover any of the four lures several times over; a Claw alone would not cover even the cheapest.

Why one Hide outprices everything else
It helps to understand why the Majestic Hide sits so far above the other four. Three things stack up. The first is that its recipes are all expensive endpoints: profession tools, crafted epic armor through the Infused Hide, and the largest housing piece in Leatherworking. A crafter who is about to spend thousands on a piece will not walk away over the price of one reagent. The second is that the Hide has no substitute. Every recipe that asks for it asks for exactly that item, and there is no other skin you can swap in. The third is supply. Skinners consistently describe the Hide as the rarest of the five, and our price history agrees: it never traded below 1,683 gold in 14 days, while the Claw, which shares the same epic quality and the same 1 gold vendor price, never traded above 65 gold11 silver.
Put those together and you get an item whose price is set by the most determined buyer, not the average one. That is good news for sellers and a warning at the same time: one patch that adds a cheaper route to Infused Hide, or removes a recipe, could reset the price quickly. Do not hoard Majestic Hides waiting for the 14-day high. Sell them at a fair point in the range and keep skinning.
Grading the finds in your bag
When you come back from a session with a mix of finds, sort them by what they need from you, not just by what they are worth.
- Majestic Hide needs attention. Check its live price against Infused Scalewoven Hide, pick a price near the middle of the 14-day range, and list one unit.
- Majestic Fin needs timing. List it soon after a patch or a new tool tier and do not sit on it for weeks.
- Fantastic Fur needs a glance at Sin'dorei Armor Banding. If Banding is near its 14-day high, crafters are busy and Fur will sell quickly.
- Majestic Claw and Peerless Plumage need almost nothing. Price them at the current floor and let them go.
This order also tells you where to spend your effort on the Auction House. Repricing a Claw five times to earn an extra few gold is wasted time; checking the Hide price twice a day is not.
What we do not know
We do not know the drop rate of any of these five items, and we have not timed a skinning loop. We do not know whether certain beasts or zones give more Majestic finds than others, beyond what players say. We do not know exactly what the Majestic lures summon. Each of these is something we plan to measure; until then, the page gives you live prices, recipe demand and arithmetic, which are the parts we can stand behind.
How to sell rare finds
- Sell Majestic Hide one at a time. Each buyer needs one or two; a stack on the market only invites undercuts.
- Check Infused Scalewoven Hide before you list a Majestic Hide. If the Infused price ever rises above the Hide, a leatherworker will pay more for the raw Hide that week.
- List Majestic Fin early in a patch. Tool demand fades once most crafters own their tools.
- Watch Void-Tempered Plating with Fantastic Fur. Banding needs both, and a cheap Plating week can lift Fur demand.
- Do not vendor anything here. The vendor pays 1 gold for the epics and 25 silver for Fur and Plumage.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
