Midnight Feasts: What a Blooming Feast Costs to Cook
Reagent bills for Blooming Feast and every other Midnight feast, priced live, with Petrified Root as the costly input and when a crafting order beats cooking.
Lowest current buyout, US region commodity market, read from our Auction House tables. Verified
The short answer
A
Blooming Feast cost about 498 gold69 silver in reagents at the prices our tables held on the evening of 2026-10-08, and about 279 gold45 silver if you had bought every reagent at its 14-day low. Most of that is a single item:
Petrified Root, which every Midnight feast needs exactly one of, and which read 211 gold live. Petrified Root was about 70 percent of the Blooming Feast bill that evening. The herbs and Plant Protein matter much less. Of the seven feasts in our datamine, Harandar Celebration had the cheapest bill we could fully price and Amani Cornucopia the most expensive, because it also takes twenty Blood Hunters. No feast appears in our Auction House tables, so you cannot buy one there; the real choice is cooking it yourself or paying a cook to make it from your reagents.
The seven Midnight feasts
Our datamine lists seven feast recipes, each with a Hearty version at epic quality. None of them has an Auction House price in our tables, which suggests they cannot be listed there. Here is what each one asks for:
| Feast | Reagents |
|---|---|
| Blooming Feast | 5 Mana Lily, 5 Azeroot, 5 Argentleaf, 10 Plant Protein, 5 Tavern Fixings, 1 Petrified Root |
| Harandar Celebration | 3 Azeroot, 10 Plant Protein, 4 Tavern Fixings, 3 Cooking Spirits, 3 Mote of Wild Magic, 1 Petrified Root |
| Silvermoon Parade | 4 Arcane Wyrmfish, 4 Lynxfish, 10 Practically Pork, 1 Tavern Fixings, 1 Cooking Spirits, 1 Petrified Root |
| Quel'dorei Medley | 6 Eversong Trout, 4 Restored Songfish, 10 Thalassian Fillet, 1 Tavern Fixings, 1 Cooking Spirits, 1 Petrified Root |
| Loa's Gathering | 20 Lucky Loa, 10 Ula'tek Snakehead, 50 Thalassian Fillet, 3 Neutralized Venom Clot, 1 Petrified Root |
| Amani Cornucopia | 20 Blood Hunter, 10 Ula'tek Snakehead, 50 Thalassian Fillet, 8 Cooking Spirits, 3 Neutralized Venom Clot, 1 Petrified Root |
| Feast of Knowledge | 10 Coiled Stargorger, 20 Sulfurous Sludgefish, 50 Thalassian Fillet, 3 Cursebound Globe, 1 Petrified Root |
The four older feasts (Blooming, Celebration, Parade, Medley) are built from herbs, cheap cooking goods and common fish. The three newer ones (Loa's Gathering, Amani Cornucopia, Feast of Knowledge) use bulk fish and reagents that our tables do not price yet, such as Ula'tek Snakehead and Neutralized Venom Clot.
The bill for every feast
This is our main table: every feast priced reagent by reagent at the evening reading on 2026-10-08, and again with every reagent at its 14-day low. The Root share column shows how much of the evening bill was Petrified Root.
| Feast | Bill (2026-10-08 evening) | Bill at 14-day lows | Petrified Root share | Unpriced reagents |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harandar Celebration | 438 gold41 silver | 251 gold56 silver | about 80 percent | none |
| Quel'dorei Medley | 464 gold31 silver | 233 gold93 silver | about 75 percent | none |
| Blooming Feast | 498 gold69 silver | 279 gold45 silver | about 70 percent | none |
| Silvermoon Parade | 541 gold77 silver | 329 gold47 silver | about 65 percent | none |
| Feast of Knowledge | at least 372 gold54 silver | at least 234 gold90 silver | under 94 percent | Coiled Stargorger, Sulfurous Sludgefish, Cursebound Globe |
| Loa's Gathering | at least 1,093 gold14 silver | at least 394 gold50 silver | under 32 percent | Ula'tek Snakehead, Neutralized Venom Clot |
| Amani Cornucopia | at least 1,854 gold34 silver | at least 310 gold62 silver | under 19 percent | Ula'tek Snakehead, Neutralized Venom Clot |
For the four fully priced feasts, Petrified Root is between two thirds and four fifths of the bill. That is the number to remember. A cheap herb week barely changes what a Blooming Feast costs; a cheap Root week changes it a lot. For the two fish feasts, the twenty fish take over: on the evening we checked, twenty Lucky Loa cost about 720 gold60 silver and twenty Blood Hunter about 1,481 gold, both read during a fish price spike. At 14-day lows those same twenty fish cost about 159 gold60 silver and 75 gold40 silver, which is why the low-price column drops so sharply for those two.
The Blooming Feast, line by line
Since Blooming Feast is the one most cooks ask about, here is its full bill at the evening reading on 2026-10-08, Silver herbs throughout:
| Reagent | Quantity | Unit price (2026-10-08) | Line cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrified Root | 1 | 350 gold54 silver | 350 gold54 silver |
| Azeroot (Silver) | 5 | 15 gold13 silver | 75 gold65 silver |
| Plant Protein | 10 | 3 gold97 silver | 39 gold70 silver |
| Argentleaf (Silver) | 5 | 4 gold44 silver | 22 gold20 silver |
| Mana Lily (Silver) | 5 | 1 gold95 silver | 9 gold75 silver |
| Tavern Fixings | 5 | 17 silver | 85 silver |
That comes to about 498 gold69 silver. Two lines read high that evening: Petrified Root was above its 14-day high of 315 gold81 silver, and Plant Protein was above its 14-day high of 2 gold90 silver. On a quieter day, the same feast would cost noticeably less, and the 14-day-low bill of about 279 gold45 silver shows the floor. If your group uses one feast a night, the difference between buying at a spike and buying at a low adds up fast.
Petrified Root: the reagent that sets the price
Petrified Root is a rare reagent that vendors for 2 gold and traded between 222 gold90 silver and 315 gold81 silver over our 14-day window before reading 211 gold live. Feasts are a small part of its demand. Our extract shows 66 recipes using it, across eight professions:
| Profession | Recipes using Petrified Root |
|---|---|
| Enchanting | 28 |
| Jewelcrafting | 20 |
| Cooking | 7 (all seven feasts) |
| Blacksmithing | 3 |
| Alchemy | 2 (the two cauldrons) |
| Inscription | 2 |
| Leatherworking | 2 (the two Armor Kits, 3 Root each) |
| Tailoring | 2 (Sunfire Silk and Arcanoweave Spellthread, 4 Root each) |
So feast cooks compete for Petrified Root with enchanters and jewelers, who between them account for 48 of the 66 recipes. When a new round of enchants or gems is in demand, Root climbs, and every feast gets more expensive with it, even though nothing about the feast changed. That is the single most useful thing to know about feast costs in Midnight.
Cook it yourself, or have it cooked
Since feasts do not appear on the Auction House in our tables, "buying" a feast in practice means asking a guild cook or posting a crafting order and supplying the reagents. Here is how to decide.
- Price the reagents first. Use the bill table above with today's live prices. The Root line is most of it.
- If you have Cooking, cook it. You pay the reagent bill and nothing else.
- If you do not, buy the reagents yourself and post an order. Supplying your own Root and herbs lets you buy them at a low, rather than paying a cook's spike price. Add a tip that is small next to the bill.
- Buy Petrified Root on quiet days. It moved from 222 gold90 silver to above 350 gold inside two weeks. Buying a few Roots at the low end covers several raid nights.
- Pick the feast by bill, not by name. If two feasts give your group what it needs, cook the one with the lower bill today. On the evening we checked, Harandar Celebration and Quel'dorei Medley were the cheapest fully priced options.
- Split the cost. A feast is cooked for a group. If your group shares the cost, the bill per person is a small fraction of the totals above.
Hearty feasts
Every one of the seven feasts has a Hearty version in our datamine: Hearty Blooming Feast, Hearty Harandar Celebration, Hearty Silvermoon Parade, Hearty Quel'dorei Medley, Hearty Loa's Gathering, Hearty Amani Cornucopia and Hearty Feast of Knowledge, all at epic quality. The client data we read does not give us a separate reagent list for the Hearty versions in the same way, so we do not price them here. Players generally describe Hearty food as the better result of the same dish. If that holds, the bill above is still the right starting point, and the question becomes whether your crafting setup reaches the Hearty result often enough to matter.
Which feast to cook on a given night
Because each feast leans on a different set of reagents, the cheapest feast changes from week to week. A quick way to choose:
- Fish spiking, herbs normal: cook Blooming Feast or Harandar Celebration. Neither uses fish.
- Herbs spiking, fish normal: cook Quel'dorei Medley or Silvermoon Parade. Neither uses a Midnight herb.
- Plant Protein spiking: avoid Blooming Feast and Harandar Celebration, which take ten each. The fish feasts do not use it.
- Root spiking: every feast gets more expensive by the same amount, because they all take exactly one. Delay if you can, or buy only the Root you need tonight.
- Fish cheap: Loa's Gathering and Amani Cornucopia become reasonable. At the 14-day lows their twenty fish cost far less than the evening spike suggested, though both still have reagents our tables do not price.
What to watch on the Auction House
- Petrified Root, first and always. It is the one reagent in every feast and the biggest line in four of them.
- Enchanting and Jewelcrafting demand. Those two professions hold 48 of the 66 Root recipes. A new enchant or gem in demand will lift Root, and your feast bill with it.
- Plant Protein. Ten per Blooming Feast and per Harandar Celebration, and it read far above its own 14-day high when we wrote this.
- Blood Hunter and Lucky Loa. Twenty each for the two newer fish feasts, and both fish markets are thin and spiky.
What we do not know
We do not know how many people one feast serves in Midnight or how long its buff lasts, because we have not tested it and the details are not in the data we read for this page. We do not price Ula'tek Snakehead, Neutralized Venom Clot, Coiled Stargorger, Sulfurous Sludgefish or Cursebound Globe yet, so three of the seven bills are minimums. When those items reach our tables, the bills will fill in.
Where the other reagents come from
Most feast reagents come from professions covered elsewhere on this site. The herbs (Azeroot, Argentleaf, Mana Lily) come from Herbalism; our Argentleaf guide is a good start. The fish come from Fishing: see the fishing overview, and the Blood Hunter and Arcane Wyrmfish pages for two feast fish in detail.

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355
Harandar (83 to 88) is where player reports place several feast inputs: Azeroot grows there, and its pools give Blood Hunter and Lucky Loa. The Harandar Celebration is named after it.

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968
Eversong Woods (80 to 83) supplies Eversong Trout for the Quel'dorei Medley and Arcane Wyrmfish and Lynxfish for the Silvermoon Parade, by player reports.
- Level
- 80 or higher
- Profession
- Cooking to make a feast; Herbalism and Fishing help to supply it
- Group

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
