Zephras Isle in WoW Forever: Gathering and What Sells
Zephras Isle, the Skyborne starting zone in WoW Forever: subzones and levels from the client, the starter materials it should give, and the Skyborne-style crafts that sell.
Lowest buyout from player scans of the WoW Forever beta Auction House, as of beta build 70291. Beta prices are a testing economy and will not carry over to launch. Last verified
The short answer
Zephras Isle is the starting zone of the Skyborne, WoW Forever's new playable race, and it is the one new zone that beta testers can actually play: Blizzard opened the beta with the Skyborne, Zephras Isle and two early dungeons, with all zone content through level 20 available. The client puts the isle on its own world map, separate from Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, with 27 named subzones whose explore levels run from 3 to 12. That is starter territory, so the materials are starter materials: Peacebloom and Silverleaf, Copper, Light Leather and Linen. The latest player scans put them at 15 copper, 11 copper, 42 copper, 40 copper and 13 copper. The real gold angle on Zephras is not the raw materials. It is what they turn into: Forever adds Azure and Cloudy armour sets for every starter crafting profession, and on the beta the leather pieces sold for many times their reagent cost.
What the client says about the isle
| Fact | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Map | Zephras Isle, map id 2991, its own world map | beta client map table |
| Zone area id | 16593 | beta client area table |
| Named subzones | 27 | beta client area table |
| Explore levels | 3 to 12 (four subzones have none) | beta client area table |
| Who starts here | the Skyborne, also called the shen'dorei or hidden people | Blizzard |
| Beta status | open since week one, with zone content through level 20 | Blizzard |

The map above is the zone map image from the Forever beta client itself. Because Zephras Isle has its own map rather than sitting on a continent, you reach it as a starting zone, not by walking in from a neighbouring zone.
The subzones by level
The client gives each subzone an explore level. Sorted, they show how the isle is laid out for a new character.
| Explore level | Subzones |
|---|---|
| none listed | Rise of Spirits, Skywall, Thendal Grove, Thendal Village, and the zone itself |
| 3 to 4 | Thendal Standing Stones (3), Thendal Cave (4) |
| 5 | Shen'dar Highlands, Shen'dar Village |
| 6 | Bandit Hideout, Falaath Village, Overlook Standing Stones, Windsong Lake, Windsong Standing Stones |
| 7 | East Pylon Watchtower, West Pylon Watchtower |
| 8 | Fairweather Stables, Gustberry Lowlands, Shriekling Den, Windfield Orchard |
| 10 | Nightclaw Cavern, Rohashi Spires, Sanctum of Storms, Shrine of Akir, Valanaar, Valanaar Skydocks |
| 12 | Ruins of Ban'aethal, Shadowgale Forest |
Thendal is the obvious start (Thendal Village and Grove have no explore level, which usually marks a starting hub). Shen'dar is the next step at 5, the Windsong and Falaath areas at 6, then Gustberry Lowlands and the orchard at 8, Valanaar and its skydocks at 10, and Shadowgale Forest and the Ruins of Ban'aethal at the top at 12. Orchards, lowlands and lakes are the kind of ground where Classic put herbs; caves and spires are where it put veins. We are reading names, not node data.
What you should gather there
The isle's levels match the Classic starter band, so the materials should match too. Here is that band with the latest beta scans. Because Zephras is open on the beta, some of the supply behind these scans comes from Skyborne characters gathering on the isle.
| Material | Profession | Vendor price (client) | Latest beta scan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peacebloom | Herbalism | 10 copper | 15 copper |
| Silverleaf | Herbalism | 10 copper | 11 copper |
| Earthroot | Herbalism | 20 copper | 35 copper |
| Copper Ore | Mining | 5 copper | 42 copper |
| Rough Stone | Mining | 2 copper | 2 copper |
| Light Leather | Skinning | 15 copper | 40 copper |
| Light Hide | Skinning | 50 copper | 82 copper |
| Linen Cloth | none, from humanoids | 13 copper | 13 copper |
Every one of these scanned above its vendor price, Copper Ore by more than fifteen times. Our starter herb guide and our Copper Ore guide go deeper on each.
The gold angle: Azure and Cloudy crafts
Here is the part of Zephras that matters for gold. The Forever client adds matching Azure and Cloudy armour sets for each starter crafting profession, all new. Each set has eight pieces per colour: six at skill 55 to 70 that use only the raw materials you collect on a starter isle, and two more at 185 to 190 that move up to Iron Bars, Heavy Leather or Bolts of Silk. The table counts the six starter pieces.
| Set | Profession | Starter pieces per colour (55 to 70) | Main material for one colour | Both colours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skyforged | Blacksmithing | 6 | 41 Copper Bar | 82 Copper Bar |
| Windraveled | Leatherworking | 6 | 35 Light Leather | 70 Light Leather |
| Gustwoven | Leatherworking | 6 | 35 Light Leather | 70 Light Leather |
| Stormsewn | Tailoring | 6 | 24 Bolt of Linen Cloth (48 Linen) | 48 bolts (96 Linen) |
So one crafter working through every starter piece of every colour needs 82 Copper Bars, 140 Light Leather and 96 Linen, plus thread and a little flux. The two upper pieces per colour add another layer of mid-level demand: across both colours, 64 Iron Bars for Skyforged, 54 Heavy Leather for each leather set, and 24 Bolts of Silk for Stormsewn. That is a lot of demand for the cheapest materials in the game, all landing in the first week of a character's life.
Our analysis: the Windraveled spread
On 2026-10-08 the beta scans included several Azure Windraveled pieces. Here is what they cost to make against what they sold for, using the same day's scans for the reagents.
| Piece | Reagents | Reagent cost at scan | Piece scan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Azure Windraveled Armguards | 4 Light Leather, 3 Coarse Thread | 1 silver92 copper | 35 silver |
| Azure Windraveled Mitts | 6 Light Leather, 4 Coarse Thread | 2 silver78 copper | 35 silver |
| Azure Windraveled Footwraps | 6 Light Leather, 3 Coarse Thread | 2 silver58 copper | 35 silver |
| Azure Windraveled Jerkin | 7 Light Leather, 1 Cured Light Hide, 2 Coarse Thread | under 4 silver | 50 silver |
The Armguards cost about 1 silver92 copper in leather and thread and scanned at 35 silver, roughly eighteen times their inputs. The others show the same shape. Beta markets are thin and these are a handful of listings, but the direction is clear: on the beta, players want the Skyborne-style look, and the leather that makes it is cheap. A skinner who also levels Leatherworking on Zephras turns starter leather into the best-selling starter product we have seen in any scan.
The full bill for one colour
The spread on single pieces is easy to quote. The more useful number is what one whole colour of a starter set costs, because that is what a crafter actually buys on the way from skill 55 to 70. Here are the six starter pieces of one colour, priced from the 2026-10-08 beta scans.
| Set (one colour, six starter pieces) | Raw materials | Bill on 2026-10-08 | Not priced |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windraveled or Gustwoven | 35 Light Leather, 17 Coarse Thread | 14 silver95 copper | 1 Cured Light Hide |
| Stormsewn | 48 Linen (as 24 bolts), 17 Coarse Thread | 15 silver40 copper | none |
| Skyforged | 41 Copper Bar | 28 silver70 copper | 2 Weak Flux |
The arithmetic: 35 Light Leather at 33 copper is 11 silver55 copper, and 17 Coarse Thread at 20 copper is 3 silver40 copper. Forty-eight Linen at 25 copper is 12 silver. Forty-one Copper Bars at 70 copper is 28 silver70 copper. Put that next to the Windraveled table above: a single Azure Windraveled Armguards listing at 35 silver was worth more than twice the leather and thread for all six pieces of that colour. Even if the spread collapses to a tenth of its beta size at launch, a Zephras leatherworker who gathers their own Light Leather still comes out ahead of selling the leather raw. Skyforged costs the most because Copper Bars are the priciest of the three inputs, which also makes Copper Ore the starter material with the strongest new buyer on the isle.
What sells and what does not
- Sell crafted Azure and Cloudy pieces if you have the profession. On the beta they sold far above their materials. Light Leather into Windraveled is the standout.
- Sell Copper Ore raw. It scanned above Copper Bar on the beta. The Skyforged sets want bars, but blacksmiths smelt their own.
- Keep Peacebloom, sell Silverleaf. Peacebloom has more recipes, including the new Peace Tea; Silverleaf has the weakest demand of the starter herbs.
- Never vendor Linen. It scanned at about twice its vendor price, and the Stormsewn set wants it as bolts.
- Ignore the berries for profit.
Gustberry Juice scanned at 1 silver and no profession recipe in our extract uses the Gustberry foods; they look like quest and vendor food.
Zephras compared with the other starting zones
Zephras sits alongside the Classic starting zones, which all cover the same material band. The beta client ships zone maps for most of them.

The difference is traffic. At launch every Skyborne character starts on Zephras, and Blizzard sells the Skyborne race as the headline of the Forever editions. Expect the isle to be one of the busiest starting zones on day one, which means more competition for nodes but also more buyers for the Azure and Cloudy crafts in the same place.

Risks to keep in mind
The Windraveled spread is the most exciting number on this page, and also the most fragile. It comes from a handful of beta listings in a market where many players are trying the new race for the first time and want the matching look. At launch, every leatherworker on the realm can craft the same pieces from the same cheap leather at the same skill band, and crafted starter gear tends to lose value fast once supply catches up. The spread will shrink; the only question is how fast. Sell crafted pieces early, keep an eye on how many are listed, and switch back to selling Light Leather raw once the pieces stop moving.
The second risk is crowding. Every Skyborne character on the realm starts on Zephras, so nodes on the isle will be contested in launch week. If you cannot find nodes, the same materials grow in every Classic starting zone.
What to watch on the beta and at launch
- Azure and Cloudy piece prices. If the spread holds at launch, crafting beats selling raw leather for the first week.
- Light Leather after day one. 140 leather per crafter for these sets alone, on top of the 59 other new Light Leather recipes.
- Node competition on the isle. If gathering gets crowded, the Classic starting zones carry the same materials with fewer Skyborne players.
Is it worth your time?
Yes, more than any other starter zone on the beta, because it is the one new zone testers can play and the Azure and Cloudy crafts are already selling. For raw gathering, Zephras is a starter zone like any other: copper and silver prices. For gathering plus a crafting profession, it is the cheapest way we have found to turn starter materials into real silver. No route has been walked or timed, so this page has no hourly figure, only the zone facts, the prices and the arithmetic.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. WoW Forever is in beta: every fact here is labelled with the client build it was read from and can change before launch. Read the full method or the about page.
