Mount Hyjal in WoW Forever: Materials and Gold Angles
Mount Hyjal in WoW Forever from the client files: subzones, flight paths, the new endgame materials like Death Lotus and Fel Leather, and what they feed.
Lowest buyout from player scans of the WoW Forever beta Auction House, as of beta build 70291. Beta prices are a testing economy and will not carry over to launch. No price data was available for these items when this page was built (checked 2026-10-13 07:22 UTC).
The short answer
Mount Hyjal is one of the three new zones Blizzard lists for WoW Forever, and it is where the client's new endgame materials most likely come from. We have to be careful with that word "likely": the client names the materials and the recipes that use them, but it does not say where they spawn, and nobody can reach level 60 content on the beta. What the files do show is a set of brand new reagents that feed the top of every crafting profession: Death Lotus for a new family of flasks, Demonsage and Marefoil as new flask herbs, Stranglevine for a new green dye, Fel Crystal and Torbernite for new alloys and enchants, Pitchblende for a new smelt, and Fel Leather for fifty-two new leatherworking recipes. None of them has a beta listing yet. When they appear at launch, they will be the most valuable new gathering materials in Forever.
What the client says about the zone
Mount Hyjal existed in the Classic Era client as an unused area called "Hyjal". The Forever client renames it to Mount Hyjal and fills it in.
| Fact | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Zone name and area id | Mount Hyjal, 616 (a second entry, 16004, carries the same rename) | beta client area table |
| Continent | Kalimdor | beta client area table |
| Era name | Hyjal | rename record in our new-world extract |
| New subzones | 9 | beta client area table |
| Flight nodes | Summit of Eternity and Tainted Foothills, both factions | our travel extract |
| Exploration achievement | Explore Mount Hyjal | beta client achievement table |
| Related raid | Hyjal Summit, with a Legacy Point achievement for defeating its encounters | beta client achievement table |

Mount Hyjal: Kalimdor, Zone ID 616
The nine new subzones are Cradle of Tranquility, Dae'gun, Elderwild, Felblood Scar, Malorne's Retreat, Mourning's Rest, Shrine of Aviana, Summit of Eternity and Tainted Foothills. Unlike the Riverglades, none of them carries an explore level in the client yet. A few names suggest what the zone holds: Felblood Scar and Tainted Foothills point to fel corruption, while Elderwild, Malorne's Retreat and the Shrine of Aviana point to old forest and the wild gods. The client also adds a separate arena map called Hyjal Crater.
Two nearby renames are worth knowing for travel: Timbermaw Hold is now Blackmaw Hold, and the Legash Encampment in Azshara is now the Legashi Encampment, with a new Legashi Stronghold at explore level 52 and a Thalassian Vanguard Camp at 49.
The new endgame materials
Here is every new high-level material we found in the Forever profession tables, with its client vendor price and how many recipes use it. Every recipe in this table is new to Forever except two of the Pristine Scale recipes.
| Material | Type | Vendor price (client) | Recipes using it | Units to craft each once | Main buyers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Death Lotus | herb | 15 silver | 9 | 13 | Alchemy 4, Enchanting 2, Engineering 2, Blacksmithing 1 |
| Demonsage | herb | 2 silver25 copper | 2 | 30 | Alchemy 2 |
| Marefoil | herb | 1 silver50 copper | 3 | 34 | Alchemy 2, Engineering 1 |
| Stranglevine | herb | 2 silver50 copper | 2 | 6 | Alchemy 1, Enchanting 1 |
| Fel Crystal | gem | 30 silver | 3 | 9 | Enchanting 2, Alchemy 1 |
| Torbernite | gem | 1 gold50 silver | 4 | 12 | Enchanting 2, Blacksmithing 1, Engineering 1 |
| Pitchblende | ore | 3 silver75 copper | 2 | 3 | Mining 1, Engineering 1 |
| Heavy Thorium Ore | ore | 3 silver75 copper | 1 | 1 | Mining 1 (Smelt Heavy Thorium) |
| Fel Leather | leather | 7 silver50 copper | 52 | 990 | Leatherworking 52 |
| Fel Hide | hide | 7 silver50 copper | 8 | 10 | Leatherworking 8 |
| Pristine Scale | scale | 3 silver75 copper | 16 | 121 | Leatherworking 12, Engineering 2, Tailoring 2 |
The names lean fel and wild, which fits Hyjal's subzone names, and the skill ranges (mostly 275 to 340) fit a level 60 zone. That is the whole basis for linking them to Hyjal. It is a reasonable inference, not a fact.
Our analysis: Fel Leather is the big one
Look at the units column. Most of the new herbs and gems are small markets: a handful of recipes, a dozen or two units. Fel Leather is not. Fifty-two Leatherworking recipes use it, and crafting each once takes 990 Fel Leather. That is nearly four times the units of Devilsaur Leather, Pristine Scale and every new herb combined (264 between them).
One honest correction to that headline. Thirty-two of the fifty-two Fel Leather recipes (the Grovekeeper, Grimstitch and Wildstalker's pieces and part of the Spiritcaller set) do not resolve a product item in our build 70124 extract, so we cannot yet show what they make. The twenty recipes that do resolve a product take 366 Fel Leather between them. That is the floor, and even the floor is about 1.4 times the 264 units of every other new material in the comparison. Fel Leather leads either way; the size of the lead depends on how many of those thirty-two entries ship.
Most of those recipes are late-game armour at skill 320 to 340, and many take twenty Fel Leather each next to Rugged Leather, Enchanted Leather and Rune Thread: the new Black and Blue Dragonscale Helms, Red Dragonscale Leggings, Dawn Armor, Living Crown, Timbermaw Tunic, Warbear Helm, Ironfeather Leggings and Pristine Scorpid Leggings among them. In Classic, the top leatherworking recipes drew on Rugged Leather and rare drops. In Forever, they also draw on a new leather in volume. If Fel Leather comes from Hyjal's corrupted wildlife, a skinner there will have the most in-demand new material in the game.
What each new herb feeds
The new herbs are small markets individually, but each one gates something valuable.
| Herb | What it feeds |
|---|---|
| Death Lotus | One per new Natural flask (Accuracy, Aggression, Precision, Swiftness); the Legionite Glaive; Enchant Gloves: Lotus Claw and Natural Power; the Gnomish Weather Machine and the Ultrasafe Rechargeable Battery |
| Demonsage | 12 to 18 per Flask of Natural Accuracy or Aggression |
| Marefoil | 12 to 18 per Flask of Natural Precision or Swiftness; 4 for the Stealthman 52 |
| Stranglevine | 2 per Viridian Dye; 4 for Enchant 2H Weapon: Mighty Healing Power |
Death Lotus plays the same role in the Natural flasks that Black Lotus plays in the Classic ones: one rare herb next to a pile of common ones. Our Black Lotus guide compares the two families. Stranglevine is small in direct use but it makes
Viridian Dye, and Viridian Dye appears in fifteen recipes, including Tailoring reagent bags, the Belt and Robe of the Archmage, the Robe of the Void and new Enchanting idols, librams and totems. A dye herb can matter more than its own recipe count suggests: two Stranglevine make one Viridian Dye, and the fifteen dye recipes take 107 Viridian Dye between them, so crafting each dye recipe once hides about 214 Stranglevine (107 dyes at two herbs each), against the six units the herb table shows.
The new metals and gems
Fel Crystal, Torbernite and Pitchblende tie Hyjal to the top of Blacksmithing and Engineering.
- Fel Crystal combines with a Heavy Thorium Bar in Transmute: Legionite to make
Legionite Bar, the new top alloy, and it goes into two new two-hand weapon enchants. - Torbernite vendors for 1 gold50 silver, the highest vendor price of any new material. It goes into the Legionite Glaive, the Stealthman 52 and both Mighty two-hand enchants.
- Pitchblende smelts with Coal into Azerothium Bars at Mining 275, and Azerothium appears in fourteen new recipes.
Our thorium guide covers Heavy Thorium, Legionite and Azerothium in depth, including the Justice and Glory plate that eats them.
Food and travel tied to Hyjal by name
Two things in the client carry the Hyjal name directly, so these links are facts rather than inferences.
Hyjal Berries goes into Sweetpaw Jam, a new Cooking recipe at 280 to 285 (three berries and a Soothing Spices).- Dimensional Transporter: Mt. Hyjal is a new Engineering item at 320 to 340, built from ten Mithril Bars, a Truesilver Transformer, four Cores of Earth, four Essences of Air and two Legionite Bars. There is also an EZ and SAF Field Transporter version.
The client also contains a mount called Swift Hyjal Stag and the item text for Malleable Essence of Nature, which says it is acquired from disenchanting items from Hyjal Summit or Barrow Deeps. That essence is a key reagent for the new nature plate and the Justice and Glory sets, so the Hyjal Summit raid itself is a material source.
How to approach Hyjal at launch
- Carry every gathering tool. Herbalism, Mining and Skinning all have new materials that probably come from here. Log which nodes and creatures give what.
- Skin everything with fel in its name. Fel Leather has the largest demand of any new material in Forever.
- Never vendor a new material. Torbernite vendors for 1 gold50 silver and Death Lotus for 15 silver, but the recipes they feed are the most expensive in the game.
- Sell Stranglevine to tailors and enchanters, not just alchemists. Its dye goes into bags and late-game cloth.
- Use the flight paths. Summit of Eternity and Tainted Foothills serve both factions.

Not walked yet
No hourly gold figure is published here until this route has been walked end to end with a timer and a full loot log. Until then this page gives you the inputs (live prices and what drops) and leaves the arithmetic to you.
What to watch
- The first Fel Leather listings. They tell you where it drops and how fast leatherworkers absorb it.
- Death Lotus against Black Lotus. If Death Lotus is easier to find, the Natural flasks may become the default raid flasks.
- Malleable Essence of Nature. Its supply depends on Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps runs; it gates the plate that eats Heavy Thorium and Arcanite.
Is it worth your time?
Not on the beta: Hyjal is level 60 content and the cap is 20 to 30. At launch, Mount Hyjal is the most interesting gathering unknown in Forever, because the client's newest and most valuable materials point toward it. Fel Leather alone has a demand bigger than most Classic leathers. No route has been walked, so this page carries no hourly figure, only what the client says and what we infer from it, clearly marked.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. WoW Forever is in beta: every fact here is labelled with the client build it was read from and can change before launch. Read the full method or the about page.
