Felcloth in WoW Forever: Value and Recipes
Felcloth in the WoW Forever beta client: all 18 recipes, the Mooncloth multiplier, a Felcloth Boots bill from beta prices, the new Writ, and Felwood and Azshara changes.
The short answer
Felcloth is a high level cloth with a small recipe list and an outsized appetite, because one of its recipes is Mooncloth. The Forever client lists 18 recipes that use Felcloth, 17 of them Tailoring, and if each were made once they would take 172 Felcloth. Add Mooncloth, which takes two Felcloth per bolt and feeds 61 recipes of its own, and the demand behind Felcloth grows to about 700 pieces. On 2026-10-08 Felcloth had no beta listing at all, and neither did
Mooncloth, because nobody on the beta can kill the level 50 and up demons and satyrs that drop it. Felcloth vendors for 20 silver. Any price above that at launch is profit for whoever brings the first stacks.
Every Felcloth recipe in the client
| Recipe | Profession | Felcloth | Skill range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Felcloth Pants | Tailoring | 4 | 245 to 275 |
| Shoulderpads of the Deranged | Tailoring | 6 | 250 to 260 |
| Fractured Mind Pauldrons | Tailoring | 8 | 250 to 260 |
| Felcloth Boots | Tailoring | 4 | 255 to 285 |
| Felcloth Hood | Tailoring | 4 | 260 to 290 |
| Felcloth Bag | Tailoring | 12 | 260 to 290 |
| Robe of Winter Night | Tailoring | 12 | 260 to 290 |
| Mooncloth | Tailoring | 2 | 270 to 300 |
| Felcloth Robe | Tailoring | 8 | 275 to 305 |
| Felcloth Shoulders | Tailoring | 6 | 280 to 310 |
| Felcloth Gloves | Tailoring | 20 | 295 to 325 |
| Runed Stygian Belt | Tailoring | 2 | 300 to 330 |
| Runed Stygian Boots | Tailoring | 4 | 300 to 330 |
| Runed Stygian Leggings | Tailoring | 6 | 300 to 330 |
| Wicked Leather Armor | Leatherworking | 6 | 300 to 320 |
| Felblood Soul Bag (new in Forever) | Tailoring | 8 | 310 to 325 |
| Robe of the Void | Tailoring | 40 | 310 to 340 |
| Core Felcloth Bag | Tailoring | 20 | 315 to 345 |
Robe of the Void is the biggest single sink at 40 Felcloth, followed by Felcloth Gloves and the Core Felcloth Bag at 20 each. The only new Forever recipe is the Felblood Soul Bag, which takes eight Felcloth and six Bolts of Runecloth. Skill ranges run from 245 up to 345, which tells you Forever's Tailoring goes past the old 300 cap.
The Mooncloth multiplier
Here is the number this page exists for. Mooncloth is made from two Felcloth (skill 270 to 300 in the extract), and Mooncloth itself is a reagent in 61 recipes, 23 of them new in Forever. Made once each, those recipes use 267 Mooncloth.
| Demand source | Recipes | Units if each made once | Felcloth behind them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recipes that use Felcloth directly | 18 | 172 Felcloth | 172 |
| Recipes that use Mooncloth | 61 | 267 Mooncloth | 534 |
| Total | 79 | 706 |
So the real demand behind Felcloth is about four times what its own recipe list suggests: 706 Felcloth to make every Felcloth and Mooncloth recipe once, against 172 if you only count direct uses. The 23 new Mooncloth recipes include the Conviction, Manaflare and Demonheart cloth sets, a Mooncloth Reagent Bag, and pieces such as the Fel Cape and Cloak of Earth and Sky. Those are Forever additions, and every one of them is Felcloth demand once removed.
What a Felcloth piece costs to make
Felcloth gear is Bind on Equip in the beta client, so a tailor can sell it. Here is the reagent bill for
Felcloth Boots, using the 2026-10-08 beta scans for everything that had a listing:
| Reagent | Count | Price on 2026-10-08 | Line total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bolt of Runecloth | 6 | 21 silver | 1 gold26 silver |
| Rugged Leather | 4 | 5 silver | 20 silver |
| Rune Thread | 1 | 65 silver | 65 silver |
| Felcloth | 4 | no listing (vendor 20 silver) | at least 80 silver at vendor value |
Without the Felcloth the bill is already 2 gold11 silver, and the finished boots vendor for only 1 gold11 silver. Even pricing Felcloth at its vendor value, a pair of boots costs at least 2 gold91 silver to make. That is why Felcloth gear is a skill-up craft or a made-to-order sale, not something to mass-produce for the Auction House.
Lowest buyout from player scans of the WoW Forever beta Auction House, as of beta build 70291. Beta prices are a testing economy and will not carry over to launch. Last verified
The bags are a different story. The Felcloth Bag vendors for 2 gold and the Core Felcloth Bag for 8 gold, and both are useful to their crafters' customers in a way a green robe is not. The Mooncloth Bag, also 2 gold at a vendor, has no binding at all in the client. Bags are where Felcloth and Mooncloth turn into products that sell.
The new Writ
The Forever client adds
Craftsman's Writ: Felcloth Boots, a rare item with no binding that requires level 10. It belongs to the Craftsman's Writ family, which also includes Writs for a Runecloth Bag, Runecloth Boots and the Gordok Ogre Suit. The client does not say what using a Writ does. Low-level Writs already traded on the beta for roughly one to three gold. If Writs turn out to commission the named craft, the Felcloth Boots Writ becomes a buyer of exactly four Felcloth per use.
Where Felcloth came from in Classic, and what Forever changed
The client does not say which creatures drop Felcloth. In Classic, players took it from demons and satyrs in Felwood, Azshara and the satyr quarter of Dire Maul East. The Forever client changes some of those places:
- Felwood: the area that Classic called Timbermaw Hold is renamed Blackmaw Hold in the beta client (area 1216). We do not know yet whether that comes with new creatures.
- Azshara: the client adds two new areas, Legashi Stronghold (exploration level 52) and Thalassian Vanguard Camp (exploration level 49), and renames Legash Encampment to Legashi Encampment. Legash was a Classic satyr camp, so a new Legashi Stronghold is worth watching as a possible Felcloth source.
- Dire Maul: tuned to level 54 in Forever for all three wings. See our Dire Maul East guide.

Felcloth on a tailor's road to the cap
If you are levelling Tailoring in Forever, Felcloth shows up at a specific point, and knowing where helps you plan what to buy and what to farm.
The first Felcloth recipe in the extract is Felcloth Pants at skill 245. From there to about 290, the Felcloth recipes are cheap ones: Pants, Boots and Hood at four Felcloth each, plus the Felcloth Bag and Robe of Winter Night at twelve. A tailor who wants to level through those needs a few stacks, not a bank full.
At 270 the Mooncloth recipe opens, and that changes the maths. In Classic, Mooncloth was on a long cooldown, so a tailor could only make one at a time and Felcloth was always the input they had to have on hand. We have not confirmed the Forever cooldown, but the recipe is the same two-for-one, and every Mooncloth a tailor makes is two Felcloth gone.
From 295 upwards come the heavy pieces: Felcloth Gloves at twenty, the Runed Stygian set, Robe of the Void at forty and the Core Felcloth Bag at twenty. These are end-game crafts, and they are made one at a time for specific customers. They are also where Felcloth turns into raid gear, which is the demand that lasts.
The practical point for a farmer is that tailors buy Felcloth in two different ways. Levelling tailors buy small amounts often. Finished tailors buy large amounts rarely, for a Robe of the Void or a run of Mooncloth. Keep some stacks small and some large, and you can sell to both.
The demand ladder: how big each order is
The recipe count says how many buyers exist. The quantity per craft says how big each order is, and that decides how you stack your listings. We sorted the 18 direct Felcloth recipes in our profession extract (build 70124) by how much Felcloth one craft takes:
| Felcloth per craft | Recipes | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| 40 | 1 | Robe of the Void |
| 20 | 2 | Felcloth Gloves, Core Felcloth Bag |
| 12 | 2 | Felcloth Bag, Robe of Winter Night |
| 8 | 3 | Felblood Soul Bag, Felcloth Robe, Fractured Mind Pauldrons |
| 6 | 4 | Wicked Leather Armor, Felcloth Shoulders, Runed Stygian Leggings, Shoulderpads of the Deranged |
| 2 to 4 | 6 | Felcloth Boots, Hood and Pants, Runed Stygian Boots and Belt, Mooncloth |
Our arithmetic: the top five recipes on that ladder take 104 of the 172 Felcloth the direct list would use, about 60 percent, from barely a quarter of the recipes. So most of the direct Felcloth volume moves in big single orders: a forty piece robe, a twenty piece bag. The small recipes are many but each one is a handful. Wicked Leather Armor is the only Leatherworking entry, so leatherworkers are a minor buyer.
What that means for a seller:
- List some Felcloth in stacks of twenty. That is the exact size of the Gloves and the Core Felcloth Bag, and a buyer who needs twenty will take a clean stack over two partial ones.
- Keep a few stacks of four for levelling tailors making Pants, Boots and Hood.
- Hold back a larger reserve for Mooncloth buyers. At two Felcloth per Mooncloth and 267 Mooncloth across its 61 recipes, the Mooncloth side wants roughly three times the Felcloth of the direct list.
Felcloth against Runecloth
Felcloth and Runecloth come from the same level band and the same kind of farm, so it is worth comparing them directly. Runecloth goes into one Tailoring recipe, the bolt, but that bolt feeds 179 recipes. Felcloth goes straight into 18 recipes and, through Mooncloth, into 61 more. Runecloth is the volume cloth: everybody needs some. Felcloth is the specialist cloth: fewer buyers, but each one needs it for something they cannot make any other way. If a farm gives you both, sell Runecloth in bulk and hold Felcloth for the buyers who need it.
Selling Felcloth, step by step
- Never vendor it. At 20 silver the vendor price is a floor, and in Classic Felcloth rarely lacked buyers once tailors reached skill 270.
- Sell in the first weeks after launch, when nobody else has any. With no beta market, launch sellers set the price.
- If you are a tailor, turn spare Felcloth into Mooncloth. Two Felcloth per Mooncloth, and Mooncloth feeds 61 recipes.
- Do not mass-craft Felcloth gear for the Auction House. The bill is higher than the vendor price before you even buy the Felcloth.
- Make bags instead. Felcloth Bags and Mooncloth Bags are the products with real demand.
- Watch the new Azshara camp. If Legashi Stronghold turns out to be full of satyrs, it could become the main supply.

What to watch on the Auction House
- The first Felcloth listings. None on 2026-10-08. The first sellers at launch set the price.
- Mooncloth. Also unlisted. Its 23 new recipes make it the faster-growing half of this market.
- Bolt of Runecloth. Most Felcloth armour recipes also need Bolts of Runecloth, so a cheap bolt makes Felcloth gear cheaper to make.
- Writ use. If Craftsman's Writs commission crafts, the Felcloth Boots Writ is a steady small buyer.
Is Felcloth worth farming?
At launch, yes, for anyone who can kill level 50 and up satyrs and demons. The direct recipe list is small, but Mooncloth multiplies it about four times, and Forever adds 23 Mooncloth recipes on top. On the beta it cannot be farmed at all. We have not walked a Felwood or Azshara route, so there is no rate here, only the inputs: what it is used for, how much, and what the gear costs to make.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. WoW Forever is in beta: every fact here is labelled with the client build it was read from and can change before launch. Read the full method or the about page.
