Dire Maul East in WoW Forever: Lashers, Herbs and Value

Dire Maul East on the WoW Forever beta: the client's encounters, Dreamfoil and the late herbs priced from beta scans, the flask math that drives demand, and Felcloth.

Updated · By Christopher Lucas · WoW Forever beta, as of beta build 70291

The short answer

Dire Maul East is the herb wing of a level 54 dungeon, and its value rests on one herb: Dreamfoil. On 2026-10-08 the beta scans had Dreamfoil at 29 gold99 silver, with only a handful listed, while Mountain Silversage and Golden Sansam had no beta listings at all. Dreamfoil is the herb behind 24 Alchemy recipes in the Forever client, including two flasks that each take thirty of it. In Classic, players farmed this wing for the herbs the lashers yield and for Felcloth from the satyrs. On the beta nobody can reach level 54 yet, so this is a launch plan with early prices attached.

What the client says about Dire Maul

The whole of Dire Maul is one map in the Forever client, map 429 (folder DireMaul), with a five-player cap. The dungeon finder table splits it into three entries, Dire Maul East (id 33), West (id 35) and North (id 37), and all three point at the same content tuning row, set to level 54 in build 70291. In Classic, the East wing was tuned a little lower than the others; in Forever the three wings share one level.

The encounter table lists 19 Dire Maul bosses on map 429. These are the five that sit in the East wing in the Classic layout (the client itself does not label wings):

Order on map 429EncounterWing (Classic layout)
1Zevrim ThornhoofEast
2HydrospawnEast
3LethtendrisEast
4PusillinEast
5Alzzin the WildshaperEast

The list matches the Classic Era client. Forever adds a new "King Gordok kills (Dire Maul)" statistic for the North wing's end boss, but nothing new in the East.

Why Dreamfoil matters

Our profession extract (build 70124) lists every recipe in the beta client that takes Dreamfoil. All 24 are Alchemy, nine of them new in Forever, and if each were made once they would use 114 Dreamfoil. That is the deepest demand for any herb on this page.

The weight comes from the flasks. Flask of Supreme Power and Flask of Distilled Wisdom each take thirty Dreamfoil per craft. A newer Forever recipe, Flask of Natural Precision, takes nine Dreamfoil plus twelve Marefoil and a Death Lotus, two herbs that do not exist in Classic. Major Mana Potion and Greater Arcane Elixir each take three. And the client adds an Alchemy camp object, the Alchemy Laboratory, that takes two Dreamfoil.

The flask bill: our own number

Here is the arithmetic nobody else prints. The Forever client says Flask of Supreme Power costs 30 Dreamfoil, 10 Mountain Silversage, one Black Lotus and a Crystal Vial. On 2026-10-08 the beta scans had Dreamfoil at 4 gold and Black Lotus at 25 gold15 silver, with no Mountain Silversage listed.

Even without the Silversage, the known part of the bill is 145 gold15 silver, and Dreamfoil is about 83 percent of it (120 gold of 145 gold15 silver). That share is the point: whoever controls Dreamfoil supply controls the price of the flask. These beta prices come from three Dreamfoil listings and one Black Lotus, so the absolute numbers mean little, but the shape will hold at launch. Thirty herbs per flask is a lot of herbs.

The lashers and the herbs

In Classic, the East wing's Warpwood Quarter is full of lashers, plant creatures that herbalists could gather from after killing them, alongside ordinary herb nodes in the courtyards. Player reports from Classic put Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, Golden Sansam and Gromsblood among what this wing yields. We have not run the wing in Forever, so we cannot confirm that lashers are still herbable or what they give.

What we can say from the recipe data is which of those herbs to care about most:

  1. Dreamfoil: the anchor. Twenty-four recipes, two thirty-herb flasks, a camp object.
  2. Mountain Silversage: the flask partner. Ten per Flask of Supreme Power, ten per Flask of Petrification and Flask of Chromatic Resistance, and four in the new Herbalism camp object, the Seed Hybridizer.
  3. Gromsblood: fourteen Alchemy recipes, half of them new in Forever, including Elixir of Ferocity, Potion of Venomous Blood and Potion of Beast Slaying.
  4. Golden Sansam: the narrowest of the four, but six of its eight recipes are new, including Elixir of Nature Power and the new Flask of Natural Accuracy.

Felcloth and the other drops

The satyrs in the East wing were a Classic Felcloth source. Felcloth had no beta listing on 2026-10-08, which is no surprise when almost nobody can kill a level 54 satyr. The extract shows 18 recipes using Felcloth, 17 of them Tailoring, and one of them is the Mooncloth transmute: two Felcloth per Mooncloth. Our Felcloth guide covers that market in detail.

Hydrospawn and the water elementals near him were a Classic source of elemental water; Essence of Water had no beta listing either. Living Essence, which Classic players took from the wing's plant creatures, also had none. Both are covered on our elemental essences page.

A Dire Maul East run, step by step

  1. Go at 56 or higher, or with a full group at 54. The whole of Dire Maul is tuned to 54 in Forever.
  2. Bring Herbalism. Without it the lasher half of this farm is gone.
  3. Kill and gather every lasher you can reach. If Forever keeps them herbable, they are where the Dreamfoil comes from.
  4. Pick every Dreamfoil and Mountain Silversage node on the way. The two together make most of the flask bill.
  5. Loot the satyrs for Felcloth.
  6. Sell Gromsblood and Golden Sansam when the price is fair; hold Dreamfoil and Silversage.
  7. Vendor the soulbound gear from Alzzin and the others unless someone needs it.
Walked route status

Not walked yet

No hourly gold figure is published here until this route has been walked end to end with a timer and a full loot log. Until then this page gives you the inputs (live prices and what drops) and leaves the arithmetic to you.

When the buyers arrive

Herb prices in this band follow the alchemists, and alchemists follow raids. That gives Dire Maul herbs a timeline you can plan around, even before anyone has walked a route.

The first wave is levelling alchemists. The skill ranges in our extract put the Dreamfoil recipes between 280 and 330, so an alchemist only starts buying Dreamfoil in volume once they are deep into the profession. In launch week that will be a small group of fast levellers, and they will pay well because supply is thin.

The second wave is the flask market. Flasks are bought by players who raid, and flask demand only becomes steady once guilds are clearing the first raids at the level cap. That is when thirty-herb recipes turn Dreamfoil from a profession reagent into a weekly consumable. A herbalist who has a bank full of Dreamfoil when that happens sets the price instead of chasing it.

The third wave is the camp objects. The Alchemy Laboratory takes two Dreamfoil and the Seed Hybridizer takes four Mountain Silversage. Neither is a big draw on its own, but every alchemist and herbalist who wants a full camp needs them once, and that is thousands of small purchases spread over the first months.

There is also a supply side to think about. Forever tunes all of Dire Maul to one level, 54, so East is no longer the easy wing that gatherers ran at a lower level in Classic. If that makes the wing slower to farm, Dreamfoil supply could stay tighter than Classic players remember. We will only know once the route has been walked.

Mountain SilversageHoldUse for flasksSell

Golden SansamSellUse for Elixir of Nature PowerSell

The pattern is simple. The herbs that go into thirty-herb and ten-herb flasks are the ones whose buyers have not shown up yet, so they are the ones to keep. Everything else is a steady seller.

What to watch on the Auction House

  • The first real Dreamfoil market. Three listings is not a market. When the cap rises and level 50 characters exist at launch, watch where the floor forms.
  • Mountain Silversage. No listing on 2026-10-08. It is the second line of every Supreme Power bill.
  • Black Lotus. One listing at …. Flask makers need one per flask, and its price sets how many flasks get made at all.
  • The new herbs. Marefoil and Death Lotus are in the Forever client and in a Dreamfoil flask recipe. If they turn out to grow in Dire Maul or Feralas, this whole page changes.

Is Dire Maul East worth farming?

For a herbalist at the level cap, it will be one of the best herb sources in the game, because it feeds the most herb-hungry recipes in Alchemy. For anyone else it is a quick dungeon with soulbound loot. On the beta it is unreachable, so the honest status is not walked yet and no rate. When we walk it, we will print what dropped, not a guess.

How this guide was written

Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so.
