The short answer
Bright Linen is Midnight's common cloth, and on its own it is cheap: 1 gold39 silver for Silver and 1 gold36 silver for Gold. Tailors turn it into
Bright Linen Bolt and then into
Imbued Bright Linen Bolt, and the Imbued Bolt is the piece that matters, because six of them go into every Sunfire Silk Bolt and every Arcanoweave Bolt. Whether bolting your own linen pays depends almost entirely on one cheap input,
Silverleaf Thread, which every step needs in fours. When thread is near its 14-day low, bolting roughly breaks even or slightly better; when thread spikes, as it had when we checked, selling the raw linen wins. Do not farm Bright Linen for its own price. Collect it while you do other things, and sell it or bolt it depending on thread.
The three items and their grades
Our datamine lists six ids in this family: the raw cloth and two bolt tiers, each in Silver and Gold.
| Item | Grade | Quality | Vendor price | Now | 14-day range (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bright Linen | Silver | uncommon | 3 silver | 1 gold39 silver | 84 silver to 1 gold20 silver |
| Bright Linen | Gold | uncommon | 3 silver | 1 gold36 silver | 75 silver to 1 gold56 silver |
| Bright Linen Bolt | Silver | uncommon | 31 silver | 1 gold42 silver | 1 gold to 1 gold79 silver |
| Bright Linen Bolt | Gold | uncommon | 31 silver | 1 gold69 silver | 1 gold64 silver to 2 gold32 silver |
| Imbued Bright Linen Bolt | Silver | rare | 90 silver | 2 gold17 silver | 2 gold24 silver to 2 gold93 silver |
| Imbued Bright Linen Bolt | Gold | rare | 90 silver | 2 gold8 silver | 2 gold48 silver to 3 gold25 silver |
The Imbued Bolt has the tightest range of the three, which tells you its demand is steady. Raw linen wobbles more because its supply depends on how many people are killing humanoids that week.
The recipe chain
Three Tailoring steps take you from cloth to the bolt that the rest of the profession wants.
| Step | Recipe | Reagents | Makes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bright Linen Bolt | 1 Bright Linen, 4 Silverleaf Thread | 1 Bright Linen Bolt |
| 2 | Imbued Bright Linen Bolt | 2 Bright Linen Bolt, 4 Silverleaf Thread | 1 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt |
| 3 | Sunfire Silk Bolt or Arcanoweave Bolt | 5 rare cloth, 6 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt, 4 motes | 1 rare bolt |
Follow it backwards and you get the number that matters most to a linen farmer. One Imbued Bolt contains 2 Bright Linen and 12 Silverleaf Thread. One Sunfire Silk Bolt or Arcanoweave Bolt contains six Imbued Bolts, which is 12 Bright Linen and 72 Silverleaf Thread. Every rare cloth bolt crafted in Midnight pulls a dozen linen off the market. That is where linen's real demand lives.
Bolt it or sell it: the thread decides
Here is the arithmetic for both steps on 2026-10-08, using Silver inputs and outputs. The left columns use the prices our tables held that evening. The right columns use the 14-day lows of every input and output.
| Step | Inputs at today's reading | Product at today's reading | Inputs at 14-day lows | Product at 14-day low |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Linen to Bolt (1 linen, 4 thread) | 2 gold7 silver | 1 gold59 silver | 96 silver | 1 gold |
| Two Bolts to Imbued (2 bolts, 4 thread) | 3 gold98 silver | 2 gold77 silver | 2 gold12 silver | 2 gold24 silver |
| Linen straight to Imbued (2 linen, 12 thread) | 4 gold94 silver | 2 gold77 silver | 2 gold4 silver | 2 gold24 silver |
At the evening's prices, every step lost money. At the 14-day lows, every step made a little. The swing input is thread. Silverleaf Thread read 20 silver that evening against a 14-day range of 3 silver to 9 silver. At the evening's price, thread was 39 percent of the cost of a plain bolt and almost half the cost of making an Imbued Bolt from raw linen. At its 14-day low, it was a rounding error.
So the rule is simple and you can check it in ten seconds:
- Look at the live price of Silverleaf Thread: 8 silver.
- If it is near the bottom of its 14-day range, bolting your linen into Imbued Bolts is worth doing.
- If it is well above that range, sell the raw linen instead and wait for thread to come back down.
- In both cases, compare the Imbued Bolt price 2 gold17 silver with two raw linen plus twelve thread before you commit a big stack.
Silver or Gold: where the grade pays
The grade gap in this family grows as you go up the chain. On 2026-10-08 Gold Bright Linen sold for only about an eighth more than Silver, the Gold plain Bolt for about a tenth more, but the Gold Imbued Bolt for close to double the Silver Imbued Bolt. That pattern makes sense once you see who buys each tier. Raw linen and plain bolts are consumed in bulk by the next step, so grade barely matters. The Imbued Bolt feeds the rare cloth bolts and crafted gear, where tailors chasing the best finished quality pay for better inputs.
Two practical results follow. If your Tailoring setup turns out a good share of Gold Imbued Bolts, list them separately and price them against their own grade, because that is where your craft earns its keep. And if you are buying linen to bolt, buy Silver: the Gold premium on raw linen is small, and the grade of the finished bolt depends on your crafting setup as much as on the linen you feed in.
Silverleaf Thread: the input to watch
Silverleaf Thread deserves its own paragraph because it shows up everywhere in this chain. Four thread go into a plain Bolt, four more into an Imbued Bolt, and the bags, housing pieces and Courtly armor all ask for two to four more on top. It vendors for 1 silver40 copper, and on most days in our 14-day window it traded for a few copper above that. The evening we wrote this, it read 20 silver, well outside its range.
We do not know why it spiked, and a cheap item like this can be pushed around by one seller or one big crafting order. What we do know is how much it matters to the sums: a fivefold move in a four-copper item is invisible on most crafts, but on a plain bolt worth under two gold it is the difference between profit and loss. Before you bolt a stack of linen, look at the thread price. It is the fastest check on this page.
The low end: bandages and Courtly armor
The plain Bright Linen Bolt also feeds the Bright Linen Bandage (one bolt per bandage) and nine Courtly armor pieces (two to three bolts each, plus thread and sometimes Embroidery Floss). These are levelling and convenience crafts. The bandage traded at 66 silver when we checked, roughly the price of the bolt inside it, so there is no margin there for a seller; it is a convenience for people who want to heal between pulls. Courtly armor has no Auction House price in our tables, which suggests most of it is crafted for skill-ups rather than sold. Neither creates meaningful demand for raw linen. The Imbued Bolt does.
Who buys the Imbued Bolt
The Imbued Bolt is in 26 recipes in our extract: 23 Tailoring and 3 Engineering.
| Group | Recipes | Imbued Bolts per craft |
|---|---|---|
| Sunfire Silk Bolt and Arcanoweave Bolt | 2 | 6 |
| Thalassian Competitor's cloth PvP set | 9 | 6 |
| Profession gear (Alchemy Apron, Enchanting, Fishing and Herbalism Hats, Tailoring Robe, Cooking Chapeau) and Bright Linen Spellthread | 7 | 2 |
| Engineering Aetherlume cloth pieces (Eye Wrap, Silken Cuffs, Softsteppers) | 3 | 2 |
| Housing and bags (Curtains, Slingsack, Saddlebag, Bedroll, Imbued Backpack) | 5 | 4 to 10 |
The first row is the engine. Every rare cloth bolt needs six Imbued Bolts, and both rare cloth bolts are the backbone of Midnight's crafted cloth gear. The PvP set is the second spike: crafting one of each of the nine Competitor's pieces would eat 54 Imbued Bolts, which is 108 Bright Linen.
The plain Bright Linen Bolt has its own, smaller list: 12 Tailoring recipes, including the Imbued step itself, nine Courtly armor pieces at two to three bolts each, the Bright Linen Bandage at one bolt, and the Bright Linen Reagent Satchel at eight bolts plus eight Fantastic Fur.

Where to collect Bright Linen
Bright Linen is cloth, so it drops from humanoid enemies rather than from a node. Our datamine does not include the loot tables, so the zone notes here are player reports, not facts we can prove from the client. We have not walked or timed a farm.

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968
Players report steady linen from the humanoid camps of Eversong Woods (80 to 83), which also makes it the natural zone for a tailor levelling alongside questing.

Zul'Aman: Levels 83-88, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15947
Zul'Aman (83 to 88) is the other zone players mention for dense humanoid camps. Higher-level humanoids are also where players report the rarer Midnight cloths, Sunfire Silk and Arcanoweave, turning up alongside linen.

How to sell it
- Do not vendor. Bright Linen vendors for 3 silver, the plain Bolt for 31 silver and the Imbued Bolt for 90 silver. All three are under the market.
- List Silver and Gold separately. The Gold Imbued Bolt can trade well above Silver; on 2026-10-08 it read nearly double.
- Sell into rare-bolt demand. When Sunfire Silk Bolt or Arcanoweave Bolt prices jump, tailors are crafting them, and each one needs six Imbued Bolts.
- Watch the PvP calendar. The Competitor's cloth set wants six Imbued Bolts a piece. The start of a PvP season is a good week to have Imbued Bolts listed.
- Keep a reserve through patches. New cloth gear tiers pull on the whole linen chain at once.
Is Bright Linen worth farming?
Not on its own. The raw cloth is a low-value item that you collect while doing something else, and the bolt steps only pay when thread is cheap. Its real value is that every rare cloth bolt needs a dozen of it, so a tailor who also collects Sunfire Silk or Arcanoweave gets more out of linen than anyone. If that is you, read our guides to Sunfire Silk and Arcanoweave next, because that is where the linen you bolt ends up.
