The short answer
Arcanoweave is the second of Midnight's two rare cloths. Raw Arcanoweave trades at 24 gold87 silver (Silver) and 18 gold70 silver (Gold), its bolt
Arcanoweave Bolt at 69 gold1 silver, and the Lining and Spellthread made from it at 68 gold60 silver and 1,345 gold79 silver. Like Sunfire Silk, the raw cloth is worth more than the bolt it makes: on 2026-10-08 the five Arcanoweave inside one bolt cost about twice what the bolt sold for. Sell raw Arcanoweave, buy bolts finished if you need them, and treat the Spellthread as the one craft in this chain that gets close to paying, mainly because its other big input, Petrified Root, sets most of its cost.
The Arcanoweave family
| Item | Grade | Quality | Vendor price | Now | 14-day range (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arcanoweave | Silver | rare | 5 silver | 24 gold87 silver | 11 gold73 silver to 28 gold14 silver |
| Arcanoweave | Gold | rare | 5 silver | 18 gold70 silver | 10 gold71 silver to 26 gold60 silver |
| Arcanoweave Bolt | Silver | epic | 3 gold22 silver | 69 gold1 silver | 56 gold to 68 gold98 silver |
| Arcanoweave Bolt | Gold | epic | 3 gold22 silver | 59 gold40 silver | 55 gold to 71 gold10 silver |
| Arcanoweave Lining | Silver | rare | 6 gold82 silver | 68 gold60 silver | 75 gold98 silver to 156 gold40 silver |
| Arcanoweave Lining | Gold | rare | 6 gold82 silver | 178 gold95 silver | 150 gold99 silver to 251 gold |
| Arcanoweave Spellthread | single | epic | 41 gold35 silver | 1,345 gold79 silver | 498 gold to 1,648 gold89 silver |
One oddity stands out: on 2026-10-08 Gold Arcanoweave was cheaper than Silver Arcanoweave, and the two bolt grades were within a few silver of each other. For the raw cloth and the bolt, grade simply is not driving price. Tailors buy whichever is cheaper. The Lining is the exception, with the Gold grade at more than double the Silver grade, because Lining goes into gear where a better finished quality matters to the buyer.
The recipe chain
Arcanoweave works exactly like Sunfire Silk, with a bolt in the middle and three finished intermediates on top.
| Step | Recipe | Reagents | Makes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bright Linen Bolt | 1 Bright Linen, 4 Silverleaf Thread | 1 plain bolt |
| 2 | Imbued Bright Linen Bolt | 2 Bright Linen Bolt, 4 Silverleaf Thread | 1 Imbued bolt |
| 3 | Arcanoweave Bolt | 5 Arcanoweave, 6 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt, 4 Mote of Wild Magic | 1 Arcanoweave Bolt |
| 4a | Arcanoweave Lining | 2 Arcanoweave Bolt, 6 Arcanoweave, 1 Embroidery Floss | 1 Lining |
| 4b | Arcanoweave Spellthread | 8 Arcanoweave Bolt, 12 Arcanoweave, 6 Radiant Shard, 5 Embroidery Floss, 6 Mote of Pure Void, 4 Petrified Root | 1 Spellthread |
The difference from Sunfire Silk is the mote: Arcanoweave Bolts take Mote of Wild Magic, Sunfire Silk Bolts take Mote of Light. Everything else lines up, including the six Imbued Bright Linen Bolts in every bolt. So every Arcanoweave Bolt also carries 12 Bright Linen and 72 Silverleaf Thread at the bottom of the chain.
Every recipe that uses raw Arcanoweave
Ten Tailoring recipes in our extract take raw Arcanoweave, and nine of them also take bolts. Counting five Arcanoweave per bolt gives the real cloth demand of each craft:
| Recipe | Raw Arcanoweave | Bolts | Total Arcanoweave per craft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood-Tempered Cape, Scout's Cape, Smuggler's Cloak (one each) | 10 | 32 | 170 |
| Arcanoweave Reagent Rucksack | 32 | 10 | 82 |
| Arcanoweave Treads | 10 | 10 | 60 |
| Arcanoweave Cord | 15 | 8 | 55 |
| Arcanoweave Spellthread | 12 | 8 | 52 |
| Arcanoweave Bracers | 20 | 6 | 50 |
| Arcanoweave Lining | 6 | 2 | 16 |
| Arcanoweave Bolt | 5 | 0 | 5 |
If that table looks familiar, it should: the Sunfire Silk recipes have exactly the same raw and bolt counts, piece for piece. Blizzard built the two cloths as a matched pair, one for each half of the crafted cloth gear. That symmetry makes direct comparison easy, which we do further down.
The bolt itself has a wider buyer list: 27 recipes, 25 Tailoring and two Enchanting formulas. Beyond the pieces above, it goes into the Martyr's Bindings, Crown, Mantle and Slippers (12 bolts each), the Arcanoweave Cloak (10), the Elegant Artisan's Alchemy Coveralls, Enchanting Hat and Herbalism Hat and their Thalassian upgrades (8 each), the Adherent's Silken Shroud (6), and housing pieces such as the Chic Silvermoon Pillow, Lush Telogrus Carpet and Plush Silvermoon Bed.
The bolt bill
Here is what one Silver Arcanoweave Bolt cost to make on 2026-10-08 at market prices:
| Reagent | Quantity | Unit price (2026-10-08) | Line cost | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arcanoweave (Silver) | 5 | 23 gold28 silver | 116 gold40 silver | 86 percent |
| Imbued Bright Linen Bolt (Silver) | 6 | 2 gold77 silver | 16 gold62 silver | 12 percent |
| Mote of Wild Magic | 4 | 60 silver | 2 gold40 silver | 2 percent |
| Total | 135 gold42 silver |
The bolt sold for 56 gold97 silver, about 42 percent of its bill. At the 14-day lows the gap narrows a lot (bill about 73 gold29 silver, bolt low 56 gold, about 76 percent), because Arcanoweave's own price swings much more than Sunfire Silk's. In our window Silver Arcanoweave ran from 11 gold73 silver to 28 gold14 silver, more than doubling, while the bolt barely moved. That means the bolt price is anchored by something other than the raw cloth, and the raw cloth floats above it depending on supply.
The practical reading:
- When Arcanoweave is near the top of its range, sell it raw; the bolt will not keep up.
- When Arcanoweave falls near its 14-day low, bolting gets close to break-even, but on our numbers it still did not cross the line.
- If you need bolts for a craft, buy them finished. The bolt was the cheapest form of Arcanoweave on every day we looked.
Lining and Spellthread
| Craft | Bill (2026-10-08) | Sold for (2026-10-08) | Back on the gold |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arcanoweave Lining (Silver): 2 bolts, 6 Arcanoweave, 1 floss | 253 gold79 silver | 85 gold | about 33 percent |
| Arcanoweave Spellthread: 8 bolts, 12 Arcanoweave, 6 Radiant Shard, 5 floss, 6 Mote of Pure Void, 4 Petrified Root | 2,151 gold45 silver | 1,424 gold21 silver | about 66 percent |
The Lining was the worst craft in the whole Midnight cloth chain on the day we checked. The Spellthread was the best, and its bill is dominated by four Petrified Root at about 1,402 gold together, roughly 65 percent of the cost. In other words, Arcanoweave Spellthread is more of a Petrified Root product than an Arcanoweave product. Its price also had the widest swing in this family, from 498 gold to 1,648 gold89 silver in 14 days, so a tailor who times it well can do much better than these snapshot numbers.
Arcanoweave against Sunfire Silk and Bright Linen
Because the three cloths feed one chain, comparing them side by side is the fastest way to decide what to keep.
| Measure (2026-10-08) | Bright Linen | Arcanoweave | Sunfire Silk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw cloth, Silver | 1 gold27 silver | 23 gold28 silver | 59 gold45 silver |
| Its bolt, Silver | 2 gold77 silver (Imbued) | 56 gold97 silver | 131 gold28 silver |
| Bolt price over bolt bill | about 56 percent (from raw) | about 42 percent | about 42 percent |
| Recipes using the raw cloth | 1 | 10 | 10 |
| Recipes using the bolt | 26 (Imbued) | 27 | 25 |
| Raw cloth 14-day swing | about 1.4x | about 2.4x | about 1.2x |
Three takeaways. First, Sunfire Silk is worth about two and a half Arcanoweave per unit, so a silk drop beats an Arcanoweave drop. Second, both rare cloths share the same bolt problem, so the advice is identical: sell raw. Third, Arcanoweave is the most volatile of the three. That volatility is an opportunity if you can hold: buying or keeping Arcanoweave near its 14-day low and selling near the high would have more than doubled its value inside our window.
A simple holding plan for Arcanoweave
Arcanoweave's wide swing makes it the one Midnight cloth worth holding on purpose. Here is a plan that uses only the numbers on this page and needs no addon.
- Write down the 14-day low and high from the strip at the top of the page. On 2026-10-08 they were 11 gold73 silver and 28 gold14 silver for the Silver grade.
- Split the range into thirds. Anything in the bottom third is a holding price; anything in the top third is a selling price.
- When the live price is in the bottom third, bank what you collect. When it reaches the top third, list in small batches so you do not drag the price down yourself.
- Never hold more than you would be happy selling at the middle of the range. Patches can reset a range overnight.
- Re-read the range every week. A fortnight of history is short, and the band will drift as more players reach the zones where the cloth drops.
This works for Arcanoweave because the cloth is held up by ten raw-cloth recipes and the bolt market below it, so its price comes back after a dip. It works much less well for Sunfire Silk, whose range was narrow when we checked, and it does not work at all for Bright Linen, where the whole range is worth less than one Arcanoweave.
Why the bolt does not follow the cloth
It is worth thinking about why the Arcanoweave Bolt stayed nearly flat while raw Arcanoweave more than doubled. If tailors were buying raw cloth at market to make every bolt, the bolt price would have to rise with the cloth, or nobody would craft it. Since it did not rise, most bolts on the market must be coming from tailors whose cost is lower than market: cloth they collected themselves, crafting stats that return extra output, or simply a willingness to sell at a loss to clear bags. None of those is something we can measure from our tables. The useful conclusion is the behaviour, not the cause: the bolt is priced by its sellers' costs, and the raw cloth is priced by its buyers' needs. As a collector, you are a raw-cloth seller, so the raw market is the one to play.
Where to find Arcanoweave
Arcanoweave is cloth from humanoid enemies. The loot tables are not in our data, so this section is player reports, and no route has been walked or timed.

Voidstorm: Levels 88-90, Unknown, Zone ID 16648
Players connect Arcanoweave with the arcane and void-touched humanoids of the higher zones, and Voidstorm (88 to 90) comes up most often. The violet bolt icon in the client fits that theme, though an icon is not proof of a drop source.

Zul'Aman: Levels 83-88, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15947
Zul'Aman (83 to 88) is the other zone players mention for dense humanoid camps, where Bright Linen is the common drop and both rare cloths turn up as extras.
- Level
- 83 or higher for the zones players mention most
- Profession
- None to collect; Tailoring to craft bolts, Lining or Spellthread
- Group
- Solo or group content that kills humanoids

How to sell Arcanoweave
- Sell raw, not bolted. The bolt sold for well under the cloth inside it on every day of our window.
- Use the swing. Arcanoweave more than doubled inside 14 days. If you can wait, list near the high, not the low.
- Ignore the grade. Gold traded at or below Silver. Price off whichever grade is cheaper.
- Never vendor. It vendors for 5 silver.
- Tailors: watch Petrified Root. It sets the Spellthread bill more than Arcanoweave does.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
