The short answer

WoW Forever adds three new zones: Zephras Isle, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal. They sit at very different points in the levelling curve, and the client is clearer about that than most previews. Zephras Isle is a starting zone, with subzones at explore levels 3 to 12. The Riverglades is a mid-level zone, with subzones from 36 to 44. Mount Hyjal has no explore levels yet, but the items the client ties to it require levels 45, 55 and 60. Only Zephras Isle is open on the beta, so it is the only one with prices: its new food sells, and the new Gustwoven leather set it shares a name with was the most profitable craft we found for low-level Leatherworkers. The other two zones have no walked routes and no prices yet.

What the client adds, in numbers

Our new-world extract compares every map and area in the Forever beta client with the Classic Era client. The beta has 72 maps against Era's 59, and 1,371 areas against Era's 1,212. That makes 14 new maps and 159 new areas, plus 5 renames and 1 removed map. Most of the new maps are instances and battlegrounds: Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Manor Mistmantle, Half-Pint Tavern, an excavation site in the Wetlands, Battle for Gilneas, Darkspear Islands and a winter Warsong Gulch. Two are open-world maps: Zephras Isle, and a Dalaran city map. The Riverglades and Mount Hyjal do not get maps of their own; they are new zones placed on the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor maps.

Zephras Isle: levels 3 to 12

Zephras Isle zone map
Zephras Isle zone map

Zephras Isle is where the new Skyborne race begins. Blizzard opened it in the first week of the beta, and the beta client ships a world map for it, shown above. Our extract lists 27 named subzones; 23 of them carry explore levels, all between 3 and 12. The main ones: Thendal Standing Stones at 3, Thendal Cave at 4, Shen'dar Village and Shen'dar Highlands at 5, Falaath Village, Windsong Lake and the Bandit Hideout at 6, the two Pylon Watchtowers at 7, Windfield Orchard, Fairweather Stables and the Gustberry Lowlands at 8, Valanaar and the Sanctum of Storms at 10, and Shadowgale Forest and the Ruins of Ban'aethal at 12.

Gustberry JuiceAuction House 1 silverVendor 5 copper
Fresh Gustberry BreadAuction House 1 copperVendor 1 copper
Light LeatherAuction House 40 copperVendor 15 copper

The island's food already trades. Gustberry Juice requires level 5, vendors for 5 copper and listed at 1 silver on the beta. Fresh Gustberry Bread vendors for 1 copper and listed at 1 copper, which means nobody is paying more than the merchant for it. If you start a Skyborne, sell the juice and vendor or eat the bread.

The beta client also has starter armour named for the island's villages, such as Thendal Survivalist's Pants and Shirt, and a toy called the Musical Gustjumper. None of those are a gold source.

The Gustwoven leather set: the best low-level craft we found

The most interesting Zephras-flavoured items are not drops at all. The client adds two new Leatherworking sets, Azure Gustwoven and Cloudy Gustwoven, each with a belt, boots, bracers, gloves, harness and trousers at skill 55 to 70, made from Light Leather and Coarse Thread. On 2026-10-08 the low-level Gustwoven pieces listed at 30 silver each.

Azure Gustwoven Hood (skill 185)15 Heavy Leather, 3 Cured Heavy Hide, thread, 4 Blue Dyeover 1 gold50 silver7 gold50 silver

Material costs are our arithmetic from the beta scans: Light Leather at 33 copper, Coarse Thread at 20 copper, Heavy Leather at 8 silver39 copper and Cured Heavy Hide at 9 silver80 copper. On those numbers a pair of Gustwoven Gloves turned under three silver of leather into a thirty silver listing. That gap will not survive many Leatherworkers finding the recipe, and a listing is not a sale, but on the beta it was the best ratio of listing to material cost we saw for any low-level craft. If you level Leatherworking on a Skyborne or anyone else, these are the recipes to make and sell, not just skill up on.

Zephras Isle quest money

Our beta quest cache holds ten Zephras Isle quests, from level 1 to 4. Together they pay 2 silver75 copper, with The Cirrusfly Queen paying the most at 1 silver and Harvesting Windstones paying 75 copper. That is normal starting-zone money: the island is about learning the Skyborne, not about gold.

The Riverglades: levels 36 to 44

Riverglades: Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 16591

The Riverglades is the zone that matters most for levelling gold. Blizzard describes it as a mid-level zone roughly the size of Stranglethorn Vale with nearly 200 quests. Our extract places it on the Eastern Kingdoms map as a new zone, with 18 named subzones whose explore levels run from 36 to 44, plus a water area called The Forbidding Sea that has no level.

37Bristle Hills
38Farholde Keep, Sunnyglade, Powderfuse Port, Turner's Logging Camp, Elbrim's Farm, Ashwood's Fall, Rog'mar, Terral's Watch
40Eastwind Shore
41Windstead
42Bolder'ok, Krol'dok Stronghold
44Forlorn Pit, Twilight's Shroud

That puts the whole zone in the bracket where quest money climbs fastest. The client's own quest money table pays more than ten times as much at level 40 as at level 10 for the same difficulty column, and the top column at level 40 is 1 gold50 silver per quest. With nearly 200 quests, the Riverglades could be one of the best quest-money zones in the game. We cannot total it yet: none of its quests are in our beta cache, because the zone is above the beta's level cap.

Only one Riverglades item has turned up in the client so far: the Farholde Scouting Report, a required-level 38 quest item. There are no Riverglades materials on the beta scans. For the materials you will gather there, which in this level range are Mageweave, Thick Leather, Mithril and Goldthorn, see our 30 to 40 guide.

Mount Hyjal: the endgame zone

Mount Hyjal loading screen

Mount Hyjal: Kalimdor, Zone ID 616

Mount Hyjal already existed in the Classic client as an area called "Hyjal". In Forever it is renamed Mount Hyjal, and our extract lists nine named subzones: Cradle of Tranquility, Dae'gun, Elderwild, Felblood Scar, Malorne's Retreat, Mourning's Rest, Shrine of Aviana, Summit of Eternity and Tainted Foothills. None has an explore level yet. A separate arena map called Hyjal Crater is also new.

Savory Shen'dralar SteakAuction House …Vendor 2 silver
Hyjal NectarAuction House …Vendor 2 silver
Schematic: EZ and SAF Field Transporter: Mt. HyjalAuction House …Vendor 60 silver

The items tied to Hyjal tell you where it sits. Hyjal Berries and Savory Shen'dralar Steak both require level 45 and vendor for 1 silver50 copper and 2 silver. Hyjal Nectar requires level 55. Engineering gets two new Mount Hyjal transporters at level 60, from schematics that vendor for 60 silver and 2 gold50 silver. A Hyjal Postal Satchel, Ketharas' Hyjal Stew and a set of Hyjal Owl quest items all carry item level 60. At BlizzCon, Blizzard described Hyjal as an endgame levelling zone with new reputations and the Hyjal Summit raid; the client's level 45 to 60 items fit that.

For gold, Hyjal is a future page. None of its items are on the beta scans, and the zone is above the cap. When it opens, the reputation vendors and the engineering transporters will be the first things to price. Our 40 to 50 guide covers the materials of that range in the meantime.

Smaller new areas worth knowing

The extract also lists new areas inside old zones. Some of them sit on the levelling path and will carry quests:

  1. Tirisfal Glades: Bandarion Keep, Shadowvale and the Whispering Forest, all at explore level 8. This is where Forever's Forsaken Paladins begin.
  2. Mulgore: Camp Gev'rek and Gloomrise at 6, Skywatcher Plateau at 10.
  3. Wetlands: Dragonmaw Retreat at 25 and the Wetlands excavation site at 26.
  4. Alterac Mountains: Old Dalaran Ruins at 30.
  5. Azshara: Thalassian Vanguard Camp at 49 and Legashi Stronghold at 52.
  6. Un'Goro Crater: the Stomping Grounds at 48.
  7. Endgame: Poacher's Den in the Burning Steppes, Martsirt in the Hinterlands and an Ironforge Submarine Facility in Dun Morogh, all at 56.

A fourth new zone, Shen'dralas, appears on the Kalimdor map with subzones such as Bristleback Retreat, Magram Front, Forlorn Gardens and Outcast Hideaway, but no explore levels yet.

What the new zones mean for your gold

  1. Zephras Isle: no real gold, but the Gustwoven leather recipes are worth learning if you level Leatherworking.
  2. Riverglades: plan your 36 to 44 levelling around it for quest money. Bring a gathering profession for Mageweave-tier materials.
  3. Mount Hyjal: an endgame zone with level 45 to 60 items. Expect reputation vendors and new engineering items; price them when it opens.
  4. Everywhere: new areas mean new quests, and quest money is the one income that does not depend on the Auction House.

How this guide was written

Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. WoW Forever is in beta: every fact here is labelled with the client build it was read from and can change before launch. Read the full method or the about page.
