The short answer
Zul'Aman is the Midnight herb zone that fights back. The client tunes it for levels 83 to 88, the same band as Harandar, and its infused herbs are Wild: when you pick one, the client says it releases a burst of nature magic and spawns a group of hostile herb lashers. That costs you time and some risk on every Wild node, and it pays you in
Mote of Wild Magic, a reagent used by 80 recipes. Herbalists report the base herbs here, and the live prices are the same as anywhere else, because Midnight herbs trade on one region-wide commodity market. Azeroot at 17 gold64 silver for Silver is still the safest herb to target. We have not walked a timed route in Zul'Aman, so there is no rate on this page.
The zone at a glance

Zul'Aman: Levels 83-88, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15947
| Fact | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Zone id | 15947 | client data |
| Level range | 83 to 88 | client content tuning |
| Continent | Eastern Kingdoms | client data |
| World map | 2437 | client data |

| Infused herb type | Wild | gathering spell text |
| Zone mote | Mote of Wild Magic | item data, player reports tie it to Wild nodes |
The client's text for Wild herbs opens with a line that sums up the zone: Zul'Aman is "a land rife with natural magic and ancient power", and that power has soaked into the plants. That is why the herbs here come with an escort.

What grows in Zul'Aman: the player-report herb list
The client does not list which herbs spawn in which zone. Our datamine does contain a Wild gathering spell for each of the five base herbs: Wild Tranquility Bloom, Wild Argentleaf, Wild Azeroot, Wild Mana Lily and Wild Sanguithorn. Since Wild herbs are tied to Zul'Aman by their own description, that strongly suggests all five grow here. The list below is how herbalists report the zone, labelled as such.
| Herb | Reported in Zul'Aman | Silver | Gold | Terrain hint (client text) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tranquility Bloom | yes, player reports | 2 gold | 2 gold20 silver | everywhere |
| Argentleaf | yes, player reports | 3 gold82 silver | 37 gold | among common foliage |
| Mana Lily | yes, player reports | 89 silver | 21 gold68 silver | near water |
| Azeroot | reports differ | 17 gold64 silver | 34 gold98 silver | on or around trees |
| Sanguithorn | reports differ | 47 silver | 19 gold78 silver | on rocks, above or under ground |
| Nocturnal Lotus | bonus from base herbs, player reports | 264 gold96 silver | one grade | none |
"Reports differ" means some player guides place Azeroot and Sanguithorn mainly in Harandar and Eversong Woods, while others say every base herb grows in every zone. The existence of Wild Azeroot and Wild Sanguithorn gathering spells argues for the second view, but a spell existing is not proof of how often a node spawns. We will settle it when we walk the zone.
Wild herbs: what the lashers cost you
Here is the full gameplay part of the client's Wild herb text, in our words: gathering a Wild herb releases nature magic, and a group of hostile herb lashers rises up to take revenge. So every Wild node has a cost a normal node does not: a short fight. Three practical consequences:
- Your class matters. A class that handles small groups easily loses little time per Wild node. A fragile class may want to skip Wild nodes while the zone is above its level.
- Level matters. The zone is tuned for 83 to 88. An 83 herbalist meets lashers at full strength; a level 90 herbalist clears them quickly.
- The payoff is the mote. Player reports tie Mote of Wild Magic to Wild nodes and their lashers. Our research also notes player guides describing a temporary Perception buff from Wild nodes. We have not measured either.
Beyond the client text, everything about the lashers is player report: how many spawn, how hard they hit and what they drop. We have not fought them on a timed loop, so we have no count and no drop table. Budget a short fight per Wild node and judge for yourself whether your character clears them fast enough.
Mote of Wild Magic: the zone's reagent
Mote of Wild Magic sells for 70 silver, with a vendor price of 20 silver. Our recipe lookup finds it in 80 recipes, the most of the four zone motes:
| Profession | Recipes using Mote of Wild Magic |
|---|---|
| Enchanting | 24 |
| Engineering | 16 |
| Leatherworking | 13 |
| Inscription | 10 |
| Alchemy | 7 |
| Jewelcrafting | 5 |
| Tailoring | 3 |
| Cooking, Skinning | 1 each |
It also shows up in the herb recipes: two motes in the Flask of the Blood Knights, two in the Haranir Phial of Perception, four in Composite Flora and two in the Potion of Devoured Dreams. Alchemy can even transmute ten Mote of Light plus two Stabilized Derivate into one Mote of Wild Magic, according to our recipe data, which tells you the game expects Wild Magic to be the scarcer of the two. On 2026-10-08 our tables read Wild Magic at 60 silver and Light at 54 silver, so the transmute only makes sense if you have spare Light motes and nothing else to do with them.
Zul'Aman against the other three zones
| Zone | Levels | Infused type | What the infused node does (client text) | Zone mote | Recipes using the mote |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eversong Woods | 80 to 83 | Lightfused | extra resources, motes of holy energy | Mote of Light | 70 |
| Zul'Aman | 83 to 88 | Wild | spawns hostile herb lashers | Mote of Wild Magic | 80 |
| Harandar | 83 to 88 | Primal | an extra Skyriding charge | Mote of Primal Energy | 78 |
| Voidstorm | 88 to 90 | Void | herbs pulled across the Twisting Nether | Mote of Pure Void | 46 |

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355
The comparison makes Zul'Aman's trade clear. Harandar's infused nodes speed you up with Skyriding charges. Eversong's give extra resources with no fight. Zul'Aman's slow you down with a fight. If all you care about is herbs, Harandar and Eversong are kinder. Zul'Aman wins when you want Mote of Wild Magic, which has the broadest demand of the four motes, or when the other zones are crowded.

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968

Voidstorm: Levels 88-90, Unknown, Zone ID 16648
How to herb Zul'Aman, step by step
- Arrive at level 85 or higher if you can. The lashers are much easier above the zone's midpoint.
- Target Azeroot or your best Gold-share herb, as everywhere. The market is region-wide, so prices do not change by zone.
- Decide per Wild node: fight it if the area is clear and you want motes, skip it if a mob pack is nearby.
- Pick Tranquility Bloom as you pass, for Mulches and alchemy.
- Sell the motes in bulk when the live price is in the top half of its range, or hand them to an engineer or enchanter friend. Those two professions use them most.
- Compare your bags after a few sessions with a session in Harandar. Without a walked route, your own log is the best rate you have.
- Level
- 83 to 88 is the tuned range; 85 or higher recommended for Wild nodes

Reading the terrain in Zul'Aman
The client's own text for three herbs names the ground they favour, and that is useful in a zone where every Wild pick costs you a fight. Azeroot grows on or around trees, Mana Lily around bodies of water, and Sanguithorn tethers itself to rocks above or under the ground. In Zul'Aman that gives you a simple way to choose your line: if you are after Azeroot, keep to the forested stretches; if you want Mana Lily, follow the water. Because every Wild node adds a lasher fight, a loop that keeps you over the right terrain for your target herb wastes fewer of those fights on herbs you did not want. We have not counted nodes by terrain in this zone, so treat this as a way to aim your eyes, not a spawn map.
Which herb to target in Zul'Aman
Because every Midnight herb sells on one region-wide market, the herb to target here is the same one you would target anywhere: the one worth the most for your Gold share. What changes in Zul'Aman is the cost of each node. A plain node costs you the flight and the pick. A Wild node costs you the flight, the pick and a fight. So the question per Wild node is whether the herb plus the mote is worth the fight.
Run the numbers with 2026-10-08 prices. A Wild Azeroot node, even at Silver, gives herbs worth 14 gold25 silver each plus a mote. That is always worth a short fight. A Wild Tranquility Bloom node gives herbs worth 1 gold66 silver at Silver and the same mote. If the fight takes as long as flying to the next node, a Wild Bloom is a poor trade unless you want the mote itself. Silver Sanguithorn at 60 silver is the weakest case of all: skip Wild Sanguithorn unless your Gold share is good.
In short: fight for Wild Azeroot and Wild Argentleaf, fight for Wild Mana Lily and Sanguithorn only with a decent Gold share, and fight for Wild Bloom only when you are collecting motes.
Common mistakes in Zul'Aman
The first is treating Zul'Aman as a different market. It is not. A herb picked here sells at exactly the price of the same herb picked in Eversong. Choose the zone for its nodes and its traffic, never for "better prices".
The second is herbing here at 83 on a fragile class. The lashers spawn at the zone's level, and at the bottom of the band they hit hard. Level a little first, or herb Eversong until you do.
The third is sitting on Mote of Wild Magic. The mote has the broadest recipe list of the four zone motes, but it still traded under a gold on 2026-10-08. Its value comes from steady selling, not from a spike.
Selling what Zul'Aman gives you
The herbs follow the same rules as elsewhere: split grades, sell Gold before raid resets, never vendor except Silver Sanguithorn on a dead day. The only zone-specific product is the mote. With 80 recipes using it, Mote of Wild Magic has the most buyers of any zone mote, yet it still trades under a gold, because every gatherer in the zone makes it. Do not stockpile thousands expecting a spike. Sell steadily.
Is Zul'Aman worth herbing?
It is the most situational of the four zones. The herbs are the same as elsewhere and so are their prices; the difference is the Wild node fight and the Mote of Wild Magic it pays. If your class handles small groups well, or the other zones are busy, Zul'Aman is a fine place to pick. If you want the smoothest loop, our Harandar guide and Eversong Woods guide are better starts. No route has been walked here yet, so there is no rate; when there is, this page will carry it. For the endgame zone see Voidstorm, and compare herbs live in the best herb guide, the Herbalism hub and the retail guides index.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
