The short answer
The Voidstorm is the top of Midnight's herb range: the client tunes it for levels 88 to 90, and its infused herbs are Voidbound, plants the client says were pulled across the Twisting Nether by the surging void. Herbs here sell at the same region-wide prices as everywhere else, so Silver Azeroot is 17 gold64 silver and Gold Argentleaf 37 gold whether you pick them here or in Eversong. What changes is who you share the zone with. During a levelling wave (expansion launch, or a wave of fresh alts) few herbalists have reached it yet. Once those characters hit the cap they gather here, and by our reasoning it becomes the most contested zone of the four. We have not measured traffic in any zone. Its mote,
Mote of Pure Void, is the cheapest of the four. And Phantom Bloom, which some players connect with the void zones, is not a Midnight herb at all: our datamine places it in K'aresh. No route has been walked here yet, so this page has no rate.
The zone at a glance

Voidstorm: Levels 88-90, Unknown, Zone ID 16648
| Fact | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Zone id | 16648 | client data |
| Level range | 88 to 90 | client content tuning |
| World map | 2405 | client data |
| Infused herb type | Void (Voidbound nodes) | gathering spell text |
| Zone mote | Mote of Pure Void | item data, player reports tie it to Void nodes |
The Void herb text is the most story-heavy of the four infused types. Paraphrased: the void has always been present on Azeroth, but recent events made it surge and seep into the world, harming the local ecology. Some herbs were flung across the Twisting Nether to unknown places, and this one happened to land in the Voidstorm. Our datamine lists a Voidbound version of every base herb: Voidbound Azeroot, Argentleaf, Sanguithorn, Mana Lily and Tranquility Bloom.

Herbs in the Voidstorm, priced live
Since Voidbound versions exist for all five base herbs and the Void herb text ties them to the zone, all five can be expected here. How often each spawns is a player report. Our list:
| Herb | Voidbound spell in datamine | Silver | Gold | Gold over Silver (2026-10-08) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Azeroot | yes | 17 gold64 silver | 34 gold98 silver | about 2.2x |
| Argentleaf | yes | 3 gold82 silver | 37 gold | about 8x |
| Mana Lily | yes | 89 silver | 21 gold68 silver | about 10x |
| Sanguithorn | yes | 47 silver | 19 gold78 silver | about 29x |
| Tranquility Bloom | yes | 2 gold | 2 gold20 silver | about 1.3x |
| Nocturnal Lotus | no node, bonus from base herbs (player reports) | 264 gold96 silver | one grade | not applicable |
Read the last column as your guide to what to fly for. If your Gold share is low, Azeroot is the herb, because it pays in Silver. If your Gold share is high, the Voidstorm is also where a strong herbalist tends to spend time, which is the next section's point.
The level-cap competition problem
Here is the argument this zone guide turns on. The four Midnight zones cover levels 80 to 90 in three bands: Eversong Woods at 80 to 83, Harandar and Zul'Aman at 83 to 88, and the Voidstorm at 88 to 90. The Voidstorm is the only zone tuned for the level cap. Characters do not re-level when a patch lands, so the swing below follows levelling waves: the expansion launch, and every later wave of new alts. This is our reasoning from the level bands, not a measurement.
During a levelling wave, few of the new characters have reached 88 yet. The Voidstorm is the quietest herb zone, and its nodes go unpicked for longer. If you are among the first to reach it, this is the best time to herb here.
Once the wave reaches the cap, every character at the cap is in or near the zone for endgame activities, and herbalist alts follow. Node competition rises. Meanwhile Eversong empties out as the levellers move on. So the zone that was quietest becomes the busiest, and the starting zone becomes a good choice again.
That swing matters more than any difference between the zones' herbs, because prices are the same everywhere. Your earnings depend on how many nodes you reach before someone else does. We have no node counts or competition data yet, so we cannot put a number on the swing. The rule is: Voidstorm first while it is empty, Eversong once it is crowded, and Harandar as the steady middle.
Voidbound nodes: what to expect
The client text tells us the story of Void herbs but, unlike the Lightfused, Primal and Wild texts, it does not describe a gathering effect. Player guides describe a Voidbound node leaving a hazard, a void circle, that can catch a careless herbalist. We have not tested it ourselves. Treat it as a player report and avoid standing in anything purple after a pick.
Mote of Pure Void: the cheapest zone mote
Mote of Pure Void sold for 20 silver on the live strip, with a vendor price of 20 silver. On 2026-10-08 it was the cheapest of the four zone motes, at 22 silver, and its 14-day low was a single silver per mote in our tables. Our recipe lookup finds it in 46 recipes, the fewest of the four motes:
| Zone mote | Recipes using it | Live price |
|---|---|---|
| Mote of Wild Magic (Zul'Aman) | 80 | 70 silver |
| Mote of Primal Energy (Harandar) | 78 | 57 silver |
| Mote of Light (Eversong Woods) | 70 | 58 silver |
| Mote of Pure Void (Voidstorm) | 46 | 20 silver |
The pattern makes sense: fewest recipes, lowest price. Pure Void shows up in the Flask of the Magisters (2 per craft), the Haranir Phial of Ingenuity (2), the Void-Shrouded Tincture (2), the Soul Cipher for Inscription (1) and the Infused Scalewoven Hide for Leatherworking (2), plus 12 Tailoring recipes. On 2026-10-08 the market paid only 2 silver more than the vendor, and on its worst day of the fortnight the vendor paid twenty times the market. Check the strip: when the market is below 20 silver, vendor your Pure Void motes and skip the Auction House cut entirely.
Phantom Bloom is not a Midnight herb
Searches for Voidstorm herbs sometimes turn up Phantom Bloom. Our datamine is clear about where it belongs. The Phantom Bloom gathering spell describes it as the energy remains of native K'areshi flora, "impossible to incorporate into Algari recipes", which you exchange at the Resource Market for Algari materials, with prices that change daily. K'aresh and the Algari materials are The War Within content, the previous expansion. There is also a Lush Phantom Bloom spell, whose text says larger examples once thrived in the forests of K'aresh.
So: Phantom Bloom is a legacy gathering material from K'aresh, not a Voidstorm herb, and it does not feed any Midnight recipe. If you want it, you gather it in K'aresh, not here.
How to herb the Voidstorm, step by step
- Come at level 88 or higher. The zone is tuned 88 to 90 and the mobs match.
- Check the competition. If you see few other herbalists, stay; if every node is being tagged ahead of you, compare with Eversong and Harandar.
- Target Azeroot if your Gold share is low; target Argentleaf, Mana Lily and Sanguithorn too if it is high.
- Take Voidbound nodes, but step out of any hazard after the pick.
- Vendor Mote of Pure Void when the market is below the vendor price; otherwise sell in bulk.
- Log three loops by herb and grade. That log is the only rate you can trust until a route has been walked.
- Level
- 88 to 90 is the tuned range
- Profession
- Herbalism; high-level herbalists here tend to have the best Gold share
- Travel
- Skyriding
- Hazard
- step out of void effects after picking a Voidbound node (player reports)
- Group
- Solo

The Voidstorm against the other zones

Harandar: Levels 83-88, Unknown, Zone ID 15355

Eversong Woods: Levels 80-83, Eastern Kingdoms, Zone ID 15968
| Zone | Levels | Infused type | Infused node effect (client text) | Traffic during a levelling wave | Traffic after it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eversong Woods | 80 to 83 | Lightfused | extra resources, motes | heavy | light |
| Harandar | 83 to 88 | Primal | extra Skyriding charge | medium | medium |
| Zul'Aman | 83 to 88 | Wild | spawns herb lashers | medium | medium |
| Voidstorm | 88 to 90 | Void | no gathering effect described | light | heavy |
The traffic columns are our reasoning from the level bands, not measurements. The infused effects are from the client.
Selling when everyone is at the cap
The Voidstorm has one more effect on your selling, separate from node competition. When most of the server reaches the level cap, most herbalists reach their best Gold share too, because they have had weeks to earn Herbalism Knowledge. Gold herb supply rises across the whole market, not just in this zone. That tends to pull Gold prices toward their lows while Silver prices, fed by fewer new herbalists, can hold up better. Three habits help:
- Sell Gold herbs whenever Gold supply is thin, for example right after a new raid tier lifts flask demand faster than herbalists can respond.
- As the expansion ages, compare Gold prices with their 14-day range before every sale. Sell into the top half and hold through the bottom half.
- Keep an eye on the Nocturnal Lotus. More pickers at the cap means more Lotus bonuses, and its price can drift down as the expansion ages.
Common mistakes in the Voidstorm
Arriving at 88 with gathering gear from 80 is the first. The mobs are tuned to the top of the range; fights between nodes eat your time.
The second is chasing Phantom Bloom here. It belongs to K'aresh, according to its own client text, and no Midnight recipe uses it.
The third is hoarding Mote of Pure Void. It has the fewest recipes and the lowest price of the four motes, and the vendor beat the market on its worst day. Sell or vendor it as you go.
Is the Voidstorm worth herbing?
At the right time, yes. During a levelling wave it is likely the emptiest zone, and that matters more than anything else because herb prices are the same everywhere. Later, it is likely the busiest, and Eversong or Harandar may serve you better. Its mote is the weakest of the four, and Phantom Bloom does not belong here at all. No route has been walked, so there is no rate yet. For the other zones see Zul'Aman, Harandar and Eversong Woods; for the herb that every zone can give you, read Nocturnal Lotus; and browse the Herbalism hub and the retail guides index.

How this guide was written
Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. Read the full method or the about page.
