BoE Greens While Leveling in WoW Forever: Sell or Equip

Bind on equip greens from WoW Forever beta scans by level band, against their client vendor prices, with the weapons that sell and the ones that do not.

Updated · By Christopher Lucas · WoW Forever beta, as of beta build 70291

The short answer

A bind on equip green you cannot use is one of the best things you can loot while levelling in WoW Forever, as long as it is the right kind. On the beta, the best-stocked world-drop green weapons and bracers listed at about nine to twelve times their vendor price: Feral Blade at 55 silver against a vendor price of 4 silver81 copper, Heavy Spiked Mace at 1 gold5 silver against 14 silver70 copper. Caster off-hands and staves did not: Journeyman's Stave listed at 5 silver against 4 silver39 copper, barely above the merchant. Crafted greens from Blacksmiths and Leatherworkers mostly listed near their vendor price too. Sell drop weapons and armour, vendor caster off-hands unless the strip says otherwise, and never equip a green you plan to sell.

What the client says about binding

Every item in the beta client carries a binding flag. Greens and blues that drop in the open world and come off crafting recipes are mostly flagged bind on equip: you can trade or sell them until you put them on, and then they belong to you. Quest rewards are mostly bind on pickup and cannot be sold to players at all. For selling, that flag is the whole game. A BoE you have not equipped is a trade good. A BoE you equipped for one level is vendor trash.

We filtered the beta scans to items the client flags as bind on equip, of uncommon (green) or rare (blue) quality, in the weapon and armour classes. Then we split them by whether a profession recipe in our extract (build 70124) creates them. Crafted items are what players make while levelling a profession. Everything else we call a world drop.

This table covers green weapons and armour of all sources. The numbers are our arithmetic over the 2026-10-08 scan. Two things jump out. First, the level 5 to 9 band has by far the most items listed, 86, and a median listing more than thirty times its average vendor price: those are mostly cheap crafted pieces with tiny vendor values. Second, from level 20 up the median listing climbs fast while the share of near-vendor listings falls. By level 30, only one green out of 31 was listed under one and a half times its vendor price. Higher-level greens are scarcer on the beta, and sellers price them accordingly.

World drops: the weapons and bracers that sell

Here are the world-drop BoEs with the most units listed in each band, with their client vendor prices.

Razor's EdgeBlue1825 silver89 copper1 gold90 silver7.3
BlackfangBlue2033 silver86 copper2 gold20 silver6.5

Weapons dominate, and bows and one-handed swords more than anything else. Bracers and shoulders follow. A world-drop green weapon at level 8 to 14 listed for something like nine to ten times what a merchant pays, which makes it the most valuable thing a level 10 character is likely to loot.

World drops that do not sell: caster off-hands

The other half of the world-drop list tells the opposite story.

ItemRequired levelVendor (client)Lowest listingRatio
Journeyman's Stave54 silver39 copper5 silver1.1
Ancestral Orb75 silver12 copper6 silver1.2

Mystic's Sphere188 silver2 copper9 silver1.1
Bright Sphere2218 silver64 copper19 silver1.0
Silver-thread Rod2623 silver87 copper30 silver1.3

These are the staves, orbs and rods that casters hold in the off hand, and every one of them listed within a third of its vendor price. Many of them were also among the most listed world drops in their band, which tells you supply is high and buyers are few. Our reading, untested, is that casters on the beta upgrade their off-hand slot from quests and do not shop for it. Vendor these unless the strip shows a clear premium.

Crafted greens: mostly skill-up leftovers

Crafted greens make up most of the BoE listings below level 30. Copper Chain Pants, Embossed Leather Gloves, Handstitched Leather Vest and Rough Copper Vest topped the low bands; Rough Bronze Leggings, Double-Stitched Woolen Shoulders and Dark Leather Boots the middle ones. Many of them listed close to their vendor price as their level rose: Rough Bronze Leggings at 10 silver against a vendor price of 9 silver62 copper, Light Leather Pants at 6 silver against 5 silver99 copper.

That is what skill-up crafting looks like. A Blacksmith or Leatherworker makes dozens of the same piece to level, and dumps the extras at roughly the vendor price. Two consequences for you:

  1. Do not buy crafted greens as upgrades unless the price is near vendor. Someone will undercut tomorrow.
  2. If you craft while levelling, vendor your skill-up greens rather than listing them. The scan says other crafters are already listing at the vendor price.

Blues: the rare drops worth holding

Bind on equip blues are rare enough on the beta that every one we found listed for many times its vendor price. Ironpatch Blade, Razor's Edge, Blackfang and Diamond Hammer all sit between level 15 and 20 in the client, and all listed between about six and thirteen times what a merchant pays. A blue is the one drop where patience pays. List it slightly above the cheapest copy, wait a full listing period, and only then think about lowering the price. A blue that sits for two days is still worth far more than its vendor value, and the number of buyers looking for a specific weapon is small, so the first buyer often takes it at your price rather than waiting for someone else to undercut.

The other reason to hold blues is the Enchanter's side of the market. In Classic, disenchanting a level 15 to 20 blue gives a Small Glimmering Shard, and on 2026-10-08 one of those listed at 91 copper. The Large Glimmering Shard, from slightly higher blues in Classic, listed at 33 silver77 copper. Neither comes close to a blue weapon's listing, so on the beta a tradable blue should almost always be sold rather than disenchanted.

How to price a green you have never seen before

The beta scan will not always have a copy of the exact green you looted. When it does not, price it from the pattern in the tables above rather than guessing.

  1. Read the vendor price on the tooltip. That is your floor; never list below it.
  2. Work out what kind of item it is. Weapons, bracers, boots and shoulders mostly sold for about seven to twelve times vendor at levels 8 to 25 on the beta, with Elite Shoulders an outlier near seventeen. Caster off-hands sold for about one to one and a third times.
  3. Multiply. A level 14 world-drop mace that vendors for 10 silver might reasonably list around 90 silver to 1 gold. A level 14 orb that vendors for the same might list near 12 silver.
  4. Check for a similar item one or two levels either side on the strip, and nudge your price toward it.
  5. If nothing sells after two full listing periods, drop it toward the lower end of the range or vendor it.

That method is our arithmetic from one day of beta listings, so treat the multipliers as a starting point and let the live market correct you.

Sell, equip or disenchant

Here is the decision for any BoE green that drops while you level.

  1. Is it a clear upgrade you will wear for five levels or more? Equip it. The listing value is gone, but levelling speed is worth more.
  2. Is it a weapon, bracers, boots or shoulders you will not wear? List it. On the beta those carried the biggest premiums.
  3. Is it a caster off-hand, stave or orb? Check the strip. If it is within a third of the vendor price, vendor it.
  4. Is it a crafted piece? Vendor it, unless you know the recipe is rare.
  5. Are you an Enchanter? Compare the listing with the materials. On 2026-10-08, Strange Dust listed at 65 copper, Lesser Magic Essence at 85 copper, Soul Dust at 5 silver76 copper and Greater Astral Essence at 23 silver99 copper. In Classic, low-level greens disenchant into these; we have not logged disenchant results on the Forever beta. A green that sells for less than the dust it would give is a disenchant.

Where the drops come from

World-drop greens fall from any mob near their level, so the best zone is simply the one you are levelling in. The beta client ships maps for these mid-level zones; we have not logged a drop session in any of them.

What to watch

  1. As the beta cap rises, more players reach 20 to 30 and the scarce bands fill up. Expect the level 30 medians to fall.
  2. Watch caster off-hands. If they stay near vendor at launch, they are vendor items for good.
  3. Watch the crafted pieces: when a profession's popular skill-up recipe changes, a new green floods the house at vendor price.

For greys and white drops, read vendor prices in WoW Forever. For the brackets where most of these greens drop, see gold from level 10 to 20 and gold from level 20 to 30. If you plan to pass greens to alts, read alt leveling for gold first. The whole lane is on the leveling gold hub, and every Forever page is on the WoW Forever gold guides index.

How this guide was written

Prices on this page are read live from TheWoWDB Auction House tables when the page loads. Item names, icons, zones and art come from our own datamine of the game client. We do not publish gold-per-hour numbers for any route nobody has walked and timed, so where a rate would go this page says so. WoW Forever is in beta: every fact here is labelled with the client build it was read from and can change before launch. Read the full method or the about page.
