The Network
WoWGoldFarms.com and TheWoWDB.com are two sites on one dataset, doing deliberately different jobs.
Who does what
TheWoWDB.com is the database. Every item, quest, NPC, zone, profession and ladder, the live Auction House browser, the WoW Token tracker and the written farming guides. It holds the record.
WoWGoldFarms.com is the rate desk. One ranked sheet of what gathering materials are worth right now, and a register of routes walked end to end with their yields priced. It holds the rates.
What the partnership actually is
It is shared data, not a press release. Both sites are served by the same application and read the same Auction House tables, so a price shown here and a price shown there cannot disagree. There is no second database and no copy of the first.
They are split because a database and a rate desk want opposite things. A database wants to be complete and permanent. A rate desk wants to be small, current, and strict about what it will not claim. Running both on one domain makes both worse.
Disclosure. WoWGoldFarms.com and TheWoWDB.com are sister sites, both built and operated by Christopher Lucas, sole proprietor. They are not independent companies and neither endorses the other as a third party.
The rest of the old site
This domain published a large WoW database for years. All of it moved to TheWoWDB.com and every old address still forwards to its exact counterpart there, so an old item page lands on that item rather than on a homepage. Only this rate desk is served from this domain now.
