Mining alone works, but the loop you fly is the same one an herbalist flies. If you can train both, do it. The herbalism guide covers the herb half.
What the ore is worth today
Midnight has three common ores: ![]()
Refulgent Copper Ore
, ![]()
Umbral Tin Ore
and ![]()
Brilliant Silver Ore
. The rare find is ![]()
Dazzling Thorium. Each common ore comes in two quality ranks, and the table shows both with their rank icon. More Skill means more of your haul lands on the pricier rank.

Who buys your ore
Knowing the buyer tells you when to post.
- Jewelcrafters prospect ore into gems, glass, dust and

Dusk-Shrouded Stone. Prospecting is specced per ore line (copper, tin, silver, thorium), so each ore has its own crowd of buyers. In 12.1 they can also turn ten rank 1 glass into one rank 2 glass for alchemists. - Blacksmiths smelt alloys such as

Refulgent Copper Ingot
. They mix ore ranks to reach a rank 2 ingot at the lowest cost (for example two rank 2 ores with three rank 1), so both IDs of each ore sell. - Gatherers buy the

Refulgent Razorstone
that blacksmiths craft, so your own consumable bill feeds the ore market too.

Setup before your first loop

- Train

Mining in Silvermoon City, next to the
Herbalism trainer. - At skill 25, pick up the weekly gathering quest and finish it every reset for knowledge points and catch-up points.
- Mine at least one node of every type in every Midnight zone. Each first-time gather pays a knowledge point.
- Spend the first points on the mounted-gathering node in

Meticulous Mining. Druids want this one too: travel form covers herbs, not ore. - Then fund

Overloading the Underground for overloaded veins and motes, and open
Plentiful Ores after that. - Turn on the Interact Key (Options, search "interact") and install Routes, FarmHud, Faster Loot and TomTom.
Stats, tools and consumables
The stat order matches ![]()
Herbalism: Finesse for more ore per vein, then Skill for more rank 2, then Deftness for speed. Perception only raises rare finds such as ![]()
Dazzling Thorium, so use it in weeks when Thorium is strong in the table above.
Buy a ![]()
Sun-Blessed Pickaxe with Finesse if you can afford it, or a ![]()
Thalassian Pickaxe if not. Then stack the gathering buffs:

Refulgent Razorstone
on the pickaxe: Finesse for two hours.
Darkmoon Firewater for Deftness.
Haranir Phial of Finesse
, or
Haranir Phial of Perception
for a Thorium week.
Argentleaf Tea for Finesse, or
Azeroot Tea to cut interrupts.

Run one session with the full stack and one without. Keep a buff only if the extra ore it earns beats its cost per hour at today's prices.
Loop 1: Voidstorm

- Voidstorm Void Posts ore loop Mining: 7 stops. Suggested loop from the Mining Voidburrow north through the Void Posts to the Ethereal camps, east and south to Torment's Rise, then back past The Howling Ridge; flying mount recommended.1. Abundance: Mining Voidburrow, 2. Void Post South, 3. Void Post West, 4. Ethereal camps, 5. Void Post East, 6. Torment's Rise, 7. The Howling Ridge
- Voidstorm eastern skinning loop Skinning: 3 stops. Suggested loop across the open eastern ground between The Voidspire, Nexus-Point Xenas and Obscurion Citadel; for the big hides, many players skin in a premade group instead.1. Nexus-Point Xenas, 2. Torment's Rise, 3. The Howling Ridge

- Start at the Abundance:

Mining Voidburrow on the west side of the central plateau. - Fly north through the Void Posts toward the Ethereal camps in the upper middle of the map.
- Swing east past Void Post East and down to Torment's Rise in the south-east.
- Turn west to The Howling Ridge, then fly back north to the Voidburrow.
When the Abundance event sits in Voidstorm, clear it on the pass by the Voidburrow. It counts as one of the weekly quest options.
Loop 2: Zul'Aman

- Zul'Aman herb loop Herbalism: 4 stops. Suggested loop through the jungle from Amani'Zar Village west to the Den of Nalorakk, north to Atal'Aman, east past Maisara Caverns and back south; wild nodes here can spawn a mob.1. Amani'Zar Village, 2. Den of Nalorakk, 3. Atal'Aman, 4. Maisara Caverns
- Zul'Aman ore loop Mining: 4 stops. Suggested loop over the ridges from Amani'Zar Village west to the Den of Nalorakk hills, north along the western ridge to Atal'Aman, east past Maisara Caverns and back south; wild nodes here can spawn a mob.1. Amani'Zar Village, 2. Den of Nalorakk, 3. Atal'Aman, 4. Maisara Caverns

- Start at Amani'Zar Village in the south-east.
- Head west to the Den of Nalorakk and north to Atal'Aman.
- Cross east past Maisara Caverns.
- Return south-east to Amani'Zar Village.
Wild nodes in Zul'Aman spawn a mob, so bring some item level. The zone rewards a character that kills fast. If you meet another miner on every pass, move to Eversong Woods for a few loops.

Lumber on the same loop
Midnight loops also pass lumber, ![]()
Thalassian Lumber, used in housing decor. Lumber pays best when a decor crafter turns it into decor that sells slowly across several realms. If you have no decor plan, leave it and keep the loop fast.
Selling the haul
- Sell ore raw on the commodity market. The market is region-wide, so post from any realm.
- Post both IDs of each ore; blacksmiths buy the cheap rank to mix.
- Hold ore that trades well under its 7-day median and post the bulk before reset day.
- List Dazzling Thorium and motes on their own. Their prices swing more than common ore.
Posting habits and undercutting are in the selling guide. If you want to use your own ore, the Jewelcrafting guide shows the prospecting side.
One session, start to finish
- Open the ore table above. If an ore is far under its 7-day median, plan to bank that one, not post it.
- Apply Razorstone, phial, Firewater and tea together so they run out together.
- Fly two or three laps of one loop. Change zones if another miner keeps beating you to veins.
- Deposit in the warband bank between laps if your bags fill; it saves a trip to a mailbox.
- Post the ore that is at or above its median, in full stacks, and keep the rest for reset day.
A tight session is one to two hours. Past that, buffs need recasting and the extra ore rarely justifies a second set.
How this farm ages
Ore sells fastest early in a patch, when crafters are levelling and stocking up. As more miners finish their trees, supply rises and ore slides. Check the table before a long session and treat every gold-per-hour figure as a dated snapshot.
Questions
Is Mining worth it in Midnight Season 2?
Yes as an active farm, and best paired with ![]()
Herbalism on one character. Ore sells steadily to jewelcrafters and blacksmiths. Prices fall as the patch ages, so check today's table first.
Where is the best Midnight mining loop?
Tour every zone once for first-gather knowledge points, then farm Voidstorm or Zul'Aman. Move to Eversong Woods when another miner shadows your loop.
Do druids need the mounted mining node?
Yes. Travel form lets druids pick herbs without dismounting, but ore still needs the Meticulous ![]()
Mining mounted node.
Why do both ranks of an ore sell?
Blacksmiths mix ore ranks to reach a rank 2 ingot at the lowest cost, so they buy the cheaper rank too. Post both.
