Rows 1 and 3 are the same loop; the only question is whether you also swing a pickaxe. If you have both professions, run both. ![]()
Mining is covered in the Midnight mining guide.
What the herbs are worth today
Midnight has five common herbs: ![]()
Tranquility Bloom
, ![]()
Sanguithorn
, ![]()
Azeroot
, ![]()
Argentleaf
and ![]()
Mana Lily
. The rare one is ![]()
Nocturnal Lotus, and it is where a good session comes from.
Every common herb comes in two quality ranks. The table lists both, marked with their rank icon. The gap between the pair is the reason Skill matters: more Skill turns more of your haul into the pricier rank.

Read the "change vs 7-day" column before you post. A herb trading well under its 7-day median is a herb to hold in the warband bank for a day or two.

Motes: the byproduct that sells to every crafter
Overloaded nodes can drop motes as well as herbs. The four Midnight motes are ![]()
Mote of Light, ![]()
Mote of Primal Energy, ![]()
Mote of Wild Magic and ![]()
Mote of Pure Void. Several professions use them, and alchemists can transmute them on a cooldown, so their price swings harder than herbs.

Setup before your first loop

- Train

Herbalism in Silvermoon City. The
Mining trainer is there too if you are going dual. - At skill 25, pick up the weekly gathering quest and finish it every reset. It pays knowledge points and unlocks catch-up points while you gather.
- Spend about 15 minutes gathering in every Midnight zone. The first gather of each node type pays one knowledge point, and the zone tour collects them all.
- Spend your first points on the mounted-gathering node in

Botany. Druids can skip it, because travel form already gathers without dismounting. - Next, fund

Midnight Overload, the branch for overloaded nodes and motes. Open
Bountiful Harvests after those two. - Turn on the Interact Key: Options, search "interact", tick Enable Interact Key, then bind "Interact with Target". You gather with one button and no mouse aim.
- Install Routes (loop lines on your map), FarmHud (a see-through map overlay), Faster Loot and TomTom.
- Get some item level first. Wild nodes in Zul'Aman spawn a mob when you pick them.
Expect the first few hours to feel weak. Output climbs as knowledge points land in the tree.

Sun-Blessed Sickle with Finesse if you can afford it, or a ![]()
Thalassian Sickle if you cannot. Add Finesse accessories as gold allows. Tools and accessories are realm-priced, so compare a few listings.
Consumables stack on top of the tool:
- Apply

Refulgent Razorstone
to the sickle. It adds Finesse for two hours. - Drink

Darkmoon Firewater for Deftness. - Use a

Haranir Phial of Finesse
, or a
Haranir Phial of Perception
in a week when Lotus is worth chasing. - Eat

Argentleaf Tea for Finesse, or
Azeroot Tea if mobs keep interrupting you.

The payback rule: a buff is worth it when the extra herbs it gives you in an hour, at today's prices, beat what it costs per hour. Test one session with and one without before you buy in bulk.
Loop 1: Harandar

- Harandar herb loop Herbalism: 5 stops. Suggested loop from the Eversong Rootway east to the Herbalism Grotto, south past Sporefall, west along the southern edge to The Blinding Vale and back north through The Gulf of Memory; herbs and ore share this ground, so it doubles as a mining route.1. Eversong Rootway, 2. Abundance: Herbalism Grotto, 3. Sporefall, 4. The Blinding Vale, 5. The Gulf of Memory

- Point of interest
- Enter from the Eversong Rootway near the middle of the map.
- Fly east toward the Abundance:

Herbalism Grotto and pick every node on the way. - Turn south past Sporefall, staying low enough to spot nodes under the canopy.
- Cut west along the southern edge to The Blinding Vale.
- Come back north through The Gulf of Memory to the Rootway and start again.
When the Abundance event is active in Harandar, finish it on the pass that goes by the Grotto. It is also one of the weekly quest options.

Loop 2: Zul'Aman

- Zul'Aman herb loop Herbalism: 4 stops. Suggested loop through the jungle from Amani'Zar Village west to the Den of Nalorakk, north to Atal'Aman, east past Maisara Caverns and back south; wild nodes here can spawn a mob.1. Amani'Zar Village, 2. Den of Nalorakk, 3. Atal'Aman, 4. Maisara Caverns
- Zul'Aman ore loop Mining: 4 stops. Suggested loop over the ridges from Amani'Zar Village west to the Den of Nalorakk hills, north along the western ridge to Atal'Aman, east past Maisara Caverns and back south; wild nodes here can spawn a mob.1. Amani'Zar Village, 2. Den of Nalorakk, 3. Atal'Aman, 4. Maisara Caverns

- Start at Amani'Zar Village in the south-east of the zone.
- Fly west to the Den of Nalorakk, then north to Atal'Aman.
- Swing east past Maisara Caverns.
- Head back south-east to Amani'Zar Village and repeat.
Zul'Aman is the zone to settle in once your knowledge points are spent, as long as your gear handles the mobs that wild nodes spawn. Eversong Woods is the third option, and it is quieter on busy realms. Switch zones when you meet another gatherer on every pass.
Selling the haul
- Sell herbs raw. Do not craft with them unless you already run a crafting profession.
- Post in full stacks on the commodity market; your realm does not matter, the market is region-wide.
- Hold herbs that sit well under their 7-day median, and post the bulk before reset day, when raiders and crafters restock.
- Sell motes as they come; their price moves fastest.
- If pigments and inks pay more than raw herbs, mill them instead. The Inscription guide shows how to compare.
Alchemists are the other big buyer. The Alchemy guide shows which potions use your herbs, and the selling guide covers posting and undercutting.
How this farm ages
Gathering pays most in the first weeks of a patch, when raiders and crafters buy everything. As more players finish their trees, supply rises and herb prices fall. Recheck the price table before a long session, and treat any gold-per-hour figure as a snapshot, never a promise.
Questions
Is Herbalism worth it in Midnight Season 2?
Yes if you farm actively, ideally with ![]()
Mining on the same character. Herbs sell quickly on the region-wide market. It is not passive income, and prices fall as the patch ages, so check today's table before a long session.
Which zone is best for Midnight herbs?
Tour every zone once for first-gather knowledge points, then farm Zul'Aman or Harandar. Eversong Woods is quieter on crowded realms. Switch zones when other gatherers keep beating you to nodes.
Finesse or Perception for Herbalism?
Finesse first: it adds herbs on every node. Perception only raises rare finds like Nocturnal Lotus, so use it only in weeks when Lotus is worth the swap.
Should I mill my herbs or sell them raw?
Sell raw unless you already run ![]()
Inscription. If you do, compare the herb price with the pigment and ink it becomes; the Inscription guide walks through it.
Changelog
- Rewritten for Season 2 / 12.1.
