Midnight Alchemy Leveling Guide (1-100)

Numbers on this page are computed from the Retail (Midnight) client, build 12.0.7.68887. Applies to live retail realms.

Draft in review. This route is computed and verified against the game client, but the writing has not had its final editorial pass, and the page is kept out of search until it does.

Retail Alchemy leveling in Midnight covers a single skill band, 1 to 100, tied to the current expansion tier rather than the cumulative 1-600 climb from older content. This guide gives you the route computed from the current client data, the expected craft count, and a shopping list with a 20 percent buffer already built in.

Midnight Alchemy has 40 recipes in its tier, but the leveling math only needs one of them to carry the full climb from 0 to 100. That is a real property of how this tier's recipes are built, not a shortcut we took, and it is explained below.

What you need

You need the Midnight Alchemy profession unlocked and access to the reagents in the shopping list below. This guide does not cover Knowledge Points or the specialization tree: our data does not include specialization throughput, so rather than guess at tree advice, this guide sticks to the crafting route and points you at your in-game Alchemy profession panel for anything specialization-related.

There is no separate vial-buying trip here the way older expansions have one. The vial this route needs is itself a crafting reagent and is already counted in the materials below.

How the craft counts work

A recipe gives a guaranteed skill point while it is orange, a shrinking chance while it is yellow, and nothing once it goes gray. The expected craft count below comes from that math applied to this recipe's actual color window in the current client data. Expected means average: half of all runs will need more crafts than this. The Buy column adds 20 percent on top, and the shopping list uses that buffered number.

The route

Flask of the Blood Knights is orange from skill 0 to 90, then yellow from 90 to 100, and it is the only recipe this route needs.

SkillCraftExpected craftsBuy (+20%)Materials

Each craft consumes 2 Sunglass Vial, 8 Argentleaf, and 6 Sanguithorn. Argentleaf and Sanguithorn are common herbs; Sunglass Vial is the reagent vial this recipe calls for. All three resolve to a single fixed item per slot, with no candidate choices to pick between.

Total shopping list

Buffered quantities, so this list already includes the 20 percent RNG cushion from the route above.

Where this route differs from the usual expectation

There is no published competitor route for this Midnight tier to compare against, so this section covers where our own numbers surprised us rather than where they contradict anyone else's guide.

The biggest surprise is structural: this is a one-recipe route. Classic and MoP Alchemy both climb through ten or more brackets, switching recipes every few points as trainers unlock new tiers. Midnight's recipe design does not work that way. Flask of the Blood Knights carries a guaranteed skill-up window all the way from 0 to 90, so the greedy path that normally hops between recipes never finds a reason to switch. If you were expecting a long bracket ladder like the older expansions, this tier simply does not have one yet.

FAQ

How many crafts does 1-100 Alchemy take in Midnight? 120 crafts on average of a single recipe, Flask of the Blood Knights. The 144-craft buy column covers a normal unlucky run through the yellow window from 90 to 100.

Why is there only one recipe on this route? Because that recipe's guaranteed skill-up window already runs from 0 to 90, and its yellow window covers the rest to 100. No other Midnight Alchemy recipe covers more ground, so the math never needs a second one.

Do Knowledge Points or my specialization tree change this route? They can change how efficiently you produce items and which quality you land on, but our data does not include specialization throughput, so this guide covers the crafting route only. Check your Alchemy profession panel and specialization tree in-game for that side of it.

Does this route need reputation, renown, or a quest unlock first? This guide covers the recipe's skill thresholds and reagents only. Access requirements for the recipe itself are not part of our data, so confirm your trainer or recipe list in-game before you buy in bulk.

What if I run out of Sunglass Vial or herbs mid-route? The Buy column already carries a 20 percent buffer over the expected craft count, so a normal run should not run you short. A longer-than-average unlucky streak in the 90-100 yellow window can still push you past it; buy a small extra batch of Sunglass Vial if that happens.

When this guide changes

This route is computed from retail build 12.0.7.68887 and the Midnight Alchemy tier. If a future patch changes this recipe's trivial thresholds, adds new Midnight Alchemy recipes, or opens a wider bracket ladder, the numbers here get recomputed from the new client data and the update noted.
