WoW Midnight — Mining

Eversong Woods Mining Route (WoW Midnight)

The calmest place to start mining in Midnight — flat ground, light mobs, and the same loop as the Eversong herb route, so one character can gather both at once. Here is the path, what you pull, and how to get the most gold out of it.

Why Eversong Woods

Eversong Woods is the easiest place to start mining in Midnight, and the zone the game points you to for leveling Mining from 1 to 100. The terrain is flat, the mobs are sparse, and the ore deposits follow the same rivers and roads as the herb nodes, so you spend your time gathering instead of fighting. It is not the densest ore zone in the expansion (Zul’Aman is), but it is the most forgiving, which makes it the right place to learn the new deposit mechanics and bank your first Knowledge Points before you move on.

The big reason to start here is that this is the same loop as the Eversong herbalism route. If you carry both Mining and Herbalism, one lap of the zone gathers ore and herbs at the same time — the cleanest dual-gather start in the game. Ore is a commodity, so the Auction House prices it per region (US, EU, KR, TW), the same on every realm in that region; check the live price of each ore on its item page before you decide what to keep.

What you need

Mining has no class shortcut in Midnight. Every miner needs 40 Knowledge Points in Meticulous Mining to gather while mounted — Druids included. Druid flight form lets you pick herbs without dismounting, but it does not let you mine; there is no flight-form mining and the old Sky Golem trick is dead. So your very first 40 points go into Meticulous Mining, no matter who you are, or you will dismount for every single node.

For yield, the stat that matters is Finesse: it gives you more ore from every deposit, so Finesse-weighted mining tools and a Haranir Phial of Finesse are the standard farming setup. Perception is the other gathering stat, but for mining it only adds extra copies of Dazzling Thorium when one has already procced — it does not make the proc happen more often. Most farmers run Finesse and treat Perception as a luxury for a deep, ore-focused build.

The route

Run the perimeter loop — Fairbreeze Village, Goldenmist Village, Tranquillien, and Windrunner Spire — and hug the zone edges, because the centre of the map gets farmed out first. Keep going the same direction each lap so the early deposits have respawned by the time you come back around, and you rarely stand still waiting. The deposits are plentiful and the mobs are light, so this is a route you can settle into for long, steady sessions.

Eversong’s themed deposits are Lightfused, which drop Mote of Light on top of the ore. When you mine one, yellow circles fall to the ground nearby; run through them to catch extra motes, and use a movement buff before you gather because the second fall can land a fair distance away. Horde players should watch for an Alliance camp on the outer ring of the loop — give it a wide berth rather than fighting through it.

What you gather

Three base ores show up here, each in Silver and Gold quality (Gold is worth more): Refulgent Copper, Brilliant Silver, and Umbral Tin. On top of those, any deposit can proc Dazzling Thorium — the rare, high-value bonus that has no node of its own and is the real gold spike even on a beginner route. Lightfused deposits also give low-value Mote of Light, used to craft mining tools and bags.

Ore smelts into bars that Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting consume every week, which is why ore prices hold up across a patch instead of crashing. Click any ore on the item price guide for its live region price and history before you list, and watch the Gold-quality premium — it is usually worth banking the better ore for the raid-week spike.

What it is worth

There is no honest single gold-per-hour number for this, because it depends on your build, the day’s prices, and how often Dazzling Thorium procs. What you can check is the live price: every ore is a region-priced commodity, so look it up on its item page and on the Auction House deals board to spot when ore or Thorium is spiking in your region. The honest answer to “how much gold per hour?” is the current price times your ore per hour — and the ore-per-hour part is the bit you actually control, through your Knowledge Point build below.

Getting more from each run

Throughput is a build, not luck. Spend Knowledge Points in this order:

  1. Meticulous Mining to 40 first. This is what lets you mine while mounted — the single biggest gain in speed and safety, and it applies to every class.
  2. Plentiful Ores next. More ore per deposit and a better shot at Gold quality.
  3. Ore sub-specs after that. Spend in order of current price; maxing one also nudges its yield.
  4. Skip overloading Lightfused for gold. It only spawns more low-value Light motes — save your Overload uptime for the Wild deposits in denser zones, where it actually pays.

Grab the zone’s free world treasures early — they are permanent Knowledge Points sitting in the open — and you can bank a large chunk of points in your first week from first-time gathers and the weekly quest before settling into the steady weekly trickle.

When to move on

Eversong is where you start, not where you finish. Once Meticulous Mining is at 40 and you have a few points in Plentiful Ores, you are ready for a denser, higher-throughput zone where Overload and Wild deposits pull their weight. Until then, the forgiving loop here lets you learn the mechanics and dual-gather your herbs without dying to mob packs — and the Dazzling Thorium proc means even a beginner lap can pay for itself.

FAQ

Where do I farm ore in Eversong Woods?

Run the perimeter loop through Fairbreeze Village, Goldenmist Village, Tranquillien, and Windrunner Spire, hugging the zone edges where deposits go unmined. It is the same loop as the Eversong herb route, so you can gather both at once.

Can Druids mine in flight form in Midnight?

No. Druid flight form works for herbalism only — Druids cannot mine in flight form. Every miner, Druids included, needs 40 Knowledge Points in Meticulous Mining to gather ore while mounted.

What is the most valuable thing you mine in Eversong?

Dazzling Thorium, the rare bonus that procs off any deposit and has no node of its own. After that it comes down to the day's region prices on Refulgent Copper, Brilliant Silver, and Umbral Tin, which you can check on each ore's item page.

Is Eversong the best mining zone in Midnight?

It is the best zone to start in and to level Mining 1 to 100. Zul'Aman is denser and higher-throughput but rougher; graduate there once you have Meticulous Mining at 40.

Why is ore the same price on every realm?

Ore is a commodity, and the Auction House prices commodities per region, so an ore costs the same on every realm in your region. There is no cheapest realm for ore — only gear and other non-stackable items change by realm.
